What cities are driving the electric vehicle revolution around the world? This question was just addressed by the International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT). It turns out that their recent report includes: “cities with the highest electric vehicle uptake through 2016 and examines the associated local policies, incentives, and infrastructure that have helped spur electric vehicle sales growth.” So where are these exceptional cities? LetÂ’s dive in to the ICCTÂ’s report to find out. Above: Cars like the Nissan Leaf and Tesla Model S are becoming more common on todayÂ’s city streets (Image: U.S. Department of Energy) The report notes that, “Electric vehicle …

As you may have noticed I have simplified the default view on the front page. We call this the "fluid view" versus the grid view we are all used to. Alternatively, you can always still choose the other views you were accustomed to. All the forums and posts are still here. Enjoy!

While most of the Tesla Semi attention has been on its 500-mile range and the speculated 1 mega watt-hour battery pack that has the combined capacity of ten Model S 100D batteries, discussion about the semi-truckÂ’s impressive quadruple drivetrain set up has remained sparse. The Tesla Semi has a single gear and uses four electric motors that operate independently to power its rear wheels. “ItÂ’s smooth. ItÂ’s just like driving a Tesla.” said CEO Elon Musk at the truckÂ’s unveiling event. “ItÂ’s though youÂ’re driving a Model S, a Model X, or Model 3, itÂ’s just big.” In addition to having a consumer-car-like driving experience, Tesla SemiÂ’s four drivetrains is de…

Rocketing from 0-60 mph in a mere 1.9 seconds looks as ridiculous as it sounds, as swarms of Tesla Next Gen Roadster reservation holders soon found out after experiencing “Maximum Plaid” mode in real life at the semi-truck unveiling event. Acceleration junkie and Tesla drag racing veteran Brooks from Drag Times documented his experience blasting off from a standstill to over 80 mph, in record-setting fashion, inside a prototype of TeslaÂ’s newest Roadster. “When we take off, if weÂ’re at full power, weÂ’ll go Plaid, weÂ’ll go Plaid”, says the Tesla employee giving the Roadster test ride. Plaid is of course TeslaÂ’s next level of acceleration, paying homage to Space …

Tesla’s semi-truck will boast an impressive range of 500 miles per single charge and leverage the companyÂ’s newest “Megacharger” for refueling. Similar to TeslaÂ’s global Supercharger network that provides drivers of its passenger vehicles with quick charging access, Megachargers will support truckers by allowing them to recharge their big rigÂ’s battery and travel anywhere in the world while facing little downtime. According to CEO Elon Musk, TeslaÂ’s ultra high-powered Megacharger will be capable of replenishing 400 miles of range in as little as 30 minutes of charging. However, unlike a Supercharger that has a power output of roughly 120 kW, TeslaÂ’s Megacharger wi…
