I don't have any special secret, travel hack, or trust fund that allows me to live in my dream locale of Maui, travel heaps, and pay my bills on time, all without a 9-to-5 job. I simply prioritize the things I value—last-minute excursions, quality time with…

The company’s first two test satellites could still launch later this year The U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) responded September 7th to requests for modification to existing satellite communications regulations and FCC practices from a number of prospective constellation operators, including OneWeb, Telesat, and SpaceX. The FCC ultimately decided to avoid one major rule change that could force SpaceX to completely reconsider its strategic approach to its proposed Low Earth Orbit broadband constellation. While the FCCÂ’s choice to cede international interference coordination to the ITU is a huge blow to SpaceXÂ’s proposed internet constellatio…

The family of a man killed while driving his Tesla Model S on Autopilot broke silence Monday, saying that they do not believe the vehicle or the car’s technology was responsible for his death. Joshua Brown was killed after his Model S collided with the side of a truck near Williston, Florida. The vehicle was in Autopilot mode when it drove beneath the side of a turning tractor trailer, shearing off the top portion of the Model S and killing the driver. “We heard numerous times that the car killed our son. That is simply not the case,” said the statement from the family. “There was a small window of time when neither Joshua nor the Tesla features noticed the truc…

Tesla will be expanding its global charging network with new, compact and efficient Superchargers in densely populated city areas. The new Supercharger will deliver 72 kW of power and unaffected by “charge splitting” wherein a Supercharger’s power is reduced if another vehicle plugs into an adjacent charger. The sleek, modern station design allows for adjacent vehicle charging without losing power. This new approach to the Supercharger will allow for fast, affordable charging in high-density areas. Tesla notes that the new Supercharger will deliver “consistent charging times around 45 to 50 minutes for most drivers”. Tesla recently committed to expanding the Su…

Silicon Valley angel investor Jason Calacanis has some really kind words to say about his new Tesla Model 3. In a series of tweets, Calacanis describes his gorgeous red Founders Series Model 3 as “a masterpiece” that drives like a Porsche but at one-third the cost. Calacanis was one of the first people to take delivery of a Model 3 and the first Model S owner (Signature Series 001). He also owns the 16th Tesla Roadster produced and another Model S, making it a four-Tesla family. Though Calacanis made it clear in his tweets that they arenÂ’t meant to serve as a review, his sentiments certainly has many Model 3 reservations holders more anxious than ever to take del…
