A new in-depth analysis that draws on responses from over 14,000 vehicle owners projects that Tesla’s Model 3 will have a low rate of depreciation and retain 71% of its value after 50k miles, beating the competition for ‘best-in-classÂ’ title. According to survey data from Autolist, 57% of vehicle owners would purchase an electric vehicle that has range capabilities of over 300 miles. 34% of respondents cited battery range concerns as the primary reason why they would not buy an EV, while only 24% of vehicle owners said cost was a limiting factor. Compiling this data and one could easily see why TeslaÂ’s Model 3 with a range capacity of 310 miles would be reason for it…

Michigan lawmakers involved in the ‘Anti-Tesla’ bill that prohibits the electric car maker from selling directly to consumers must surrender records of their communications with lobbyists and “non-legislative third parties”, according to a new federal judge ruling on Monday. U.S. Magistrate Judge Ellen Carmody denied efforts by Republican Rep. Jason Sheppard of Lambertville and Republican Sen. Joe Hune of Gregory, to quash subpoenas served on them by Tesla. In June, Tesla had subpoenaed two Michigan lawmakers for their phone records and internal communications, alleging that Republican Senator Joe Hune’s wife works for a firm that lobbies for the Michigan Automobile D…

Chief Operating Officer and SpaceX President Gwynne Shotwell recently gave a revealing and fascinating interview with Marie Claire. A historically fashion-focused media outlet, Marie Claire has recently taken to exploring a much broader subset of topics, with a particular affinity towards content that might help empower women both young and old. Gwynne Shotwell may well be one of the best stories of success for women in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields over the last decade. Engineering, particularly aerospace engineering, has a rather shadowy history of diversity and inclusion, even to this day. Regardless, Elon Musk has demonstrated no disc…

Spotted today and yesterday on its journey from Florida to Texas, Falcon Heavy’s second and final side booster is believed to be headed to Texas for static fire testing at SpaceXÂ’s McGregor facilities. Over the past several weeks, several people have independently spotted all three Falcon Heavy cores inside SpaceXÂ’s LC-39A integration facility at Cape Canaveral. One of the boosters, previously used to launch CRS-9 in January 2017, is understood to have been refurbished and modified for its new life as a Falcon Heavy booster without ever leaving the Cape. This indicates that SpaceX has matured their facilities considerably and opens up more options for the future of …
