It has been a decade since I married my cheating husband. I was madly in love when the man of my dreams dropped to one knee and asked me to be his wife. That was the happiest day of my life. Everything I had planned for my future was falling seamlessly into place, and the only thing I had to do was say, "Yes!" There wasn't anything in my life I had ever been more sure of. It was a few months before our wedding was going to take place, and he called and asked me to come over. I knew by the sound of his voice that something was terribly wrong. We need to divest from meat the same way we're divesting from carbon. In the last few years, there's been increasing pressure on oil and gas investors to consider the math around climate change. Activists have pointed out, reasonably enough, that companies can't do all the exploration they're planning if we're to stay within relatively safe global warming limits. Now an investment action group is making a similar case around food production, saying there's no way we can keep eating meat at the current rate either. We're creating a "protein bubble," they say, that can only be averted by substituting some meat with plants, which are less carbon intensive. …

Global warming is said to be bringing temperatures last seen during an interglacial era, when sea level was 6-9 meters (20-30ft) higher than today A coal-fired power station. ‘Massive CO2 extraction’ costing trillions is needed in order to avoid runaway temperature rises, says a new paper. Photograph: Florian Gaertner/Photothek via Getty Images The global temperature has increased to a level not seen for 115,000 years, requiring daunting technological advances that will cost the coming generations hundreds of trillions of dollars, according to the scientist widely credited with bringing climate change to the public’s attention. A new paper submitted …

If you thought a plane that could get you from NYC to London in 30-minutes was a stunt of Sci-Fi proportions, just wait until you hear about the two guys who jetpacked next to an airplane. Emirates recently teamed up with Jetman Dubai to plan a choreographed performance 4,000 feet in the air. The actual flight is full of stunning skylines, jaw-dropping heights, and everything else you'd imagine two jetpackers flying next to an Airbus A380 would look like. Check it out above. Want to know how it all came together? Check out the behind-the-scenes footage below:

It's no secret that Earth's longevity depends largely on finding an alternative to fossil fuels. Not only are fossil fuels greatly contributing to climate change, but they're a non-renewable resource that will eventually run out faster than they can be replenished. Great strides have been made in recent years towards using renewable sources of energy, like electric vehicles, solar panels, wind energy and even algae. It might seem surprising, but algae is one of the most powerful sources of energy we have access to on Earth. When dried algae is ground into a powder and refined, oil can be extracted from it. The result is nearly identical to traditional gasoline, but with f…
