My oldest son and his JW wife, were both raised in the organization, and they both suffered from PTSD once they left Watchtower’s indoctrination. After their marriage ended, my son fell into such a deep depression that it was necessary to receive professional help. Although I still see the tailings of his depression even after several years now, he is able to be a productive person managing the daily demands this life puts upon us. The letter read by the woman who produced this video reminded me all over again of just how many JWs are also facing affliction and depression experienced by those still in and also by those who have left the Watchtower.   This letter…

Hello all my spiritual brothers and sisters... I just had to share my 2 wonderful experiences, I had Saturday before my field service and during my field service! I usually have my latest issues in my magazine bag, but I had forgotten them at my house, so I went back to get them. Then I went to McDonalds to get my yogurt parfait! I normally put them in my magazine bag, but I had left them in my lap, so as I was paying for my yogurt parfait, the cashier said to me "Give me one of those books" I love to read them and look up the scriptures, and bring me some more! Wow, I was so excited, I said Thank you Jehovah!! The next experience I had was in the territory w…

Jehovah . . . has chosen you to become his people, his special property.—Deut. 7:6. This was not an arbitrary choice. Jehovah was being true to a promise that he had made centuries earlier to his friend Abraham. (Gen. 22:15-18) Furthermore, Jehovah always exercises his freedom in harmony with his attributes of love and justice. This is evident in the way he disciplined the Israelites, who repeatedly abandoned true worship. When they expressed heartfelt repentance, Jehovah willingly extended love and mercy, saying: “I will heal their unfaithfulness. I will love them of my own free will.” (Hos. 14:4) What a fine example of using his freedom for the benefit of others!…

Only "the god of this world, The note always forces, Like the ugly plague, He is a devil, a satan and a god! What does it mean? Jesus granted this unrighteous individual his wish by saying “Truly I tell you today, you will be with me in Paradise.” (Luke 23:43) The Apostle Paul explains that there is going to be a resurrection of righteous and unrighteous individuals in the coming Paradise on Earth. (Acts 24:15)  Whereas many translations place a comma before the word “today” and thereby give the impression that the evildoer entered Paradise that same day, there is nothing in the rest of the Scriptures to support this. Jesus himself was dead and in the tomb until the third day and was then resurrected as “the firstfruits” of the resurrection. Only to …

Every Witness has heard the one about the 40 different writers, from wildly diverse backgrouds...some kings, and some day laborers....over a period of some 2000 years. What are the chances that they will write a coherent book? And yet the 40 that are Bible writers have done so, steadily advancing the theme of God's kingdom arrangment developing. The speaker Sunday followed up with a comparison I have not heard before. It was that of 45 United States Presidents, all cut from basically the same cloth, over a far shorter period of time. Yet, would anyone say that they advance the same vision? Just ask Obama and then Trump. The speaker also flashed a $20 bill on …

John 14:28 - ‘The Father is greater than I’. Watchtower teaching: The JW book Let God be True, 1946, p.110 says that Jehovah is greater than Jesus in his office and person. Jehovah they say is intrinsically greater than Jesus, and hence Jesus cannot be God Almighty. The JW book Reasoning from the Scriptures, p.410, says, ‘The fact that Jesus is lesser than Jehovah proves that He cannot be God in the same sense that Jehovah is’. The Bible Teaching: In John 14:28 Jesus is not speaking about His nature or being (Christ had earlier said in John 10:30, ‘I and the Father are one’), but about His lowly position of incarnation as a man. The Athanasian Creed says that Ch…

Greek Scholars & The Watchtower: Julius Mantey Julius Mantey was arguably the greatest Greek scholar of the 20th century. He was co-author of A Manual Grammar of the Greek New Testament, a Greek grammar that was in use for half a century to teach Greek in prominent schools. Along with other Greek grammar book authors A. T. Robertson and Daniel Wallace, Mantey disagreed with the Watchtower’s (Jehovah’s Witnesses’) book, the New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures (NWT). For several years, Mantey was quoted in a footnote to the NWT, with the Watchtower trying to use Mantey’s grammar book to support their view of the bible. Mantey took offense, and wrote the le…

This is what i have so far. WATCHTOWER FALSE PROPHECIES 1877 'The End Of This World; that is the end of the gospel and the beginning of the millennial age is nearer than most men suppose; indeed we have already entered the transition period, which is to be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation Dan. 12:3." (N.H. Barbour and C.T. Russell, Three Worlds, and the Harvest of This World, p. 17). 1879 "Christ came in the character of a Bridegroom in 1874.... at the beginning of the Gospel harvest." (Watchtower, Oct 1879, p. 4) 1880 "We need not here repeat the evidences that the "seventh trump" began its sounding A.D., 1840, and will c…

The end of Nazi Fascist hierarchy will come and will mark the end forever of demon rule.’ (Watchtower, 15 December 1941, p 377) The new book titled Children will prove useful ‘in the remaining months before Armageddon’ (Watchtower, 15 September 1941, p 288) 1983 "Avoid independent thinking...questioning the counsel that is provided by God's visible organization." (Watchtower, Jan. 15, 1983 pg. 27 ) 1922 "The date 1925 is even more distinctly indicated by the Scriptures than 1914," (Watchtower, Sept. 1, 1922, p. 262). 1923 "Our thought is, that 1925 is definitely s…

Be brave and strong! If it were just ice mountains Let our thoughts darken, Let's love "eternal life" Let's win with love! If it were only stone mountains, Let our eyes disturb us, Let's love a lot of art, Let's win with love! If it were only stone mountains, To block our path, Pray, please, forgive, And defeat desperation! If it were like the whole system, Satan to oppose, To defeat all the curse, With His love IAH, good! If, it would be like everything, Stay in our way, hard, Let's love to death, IAH with a pure soul! If you were to give your breath, Last on this earth! Even in the final extinction, Love …

Throw your burden on Jehovah, and he will sustain you.—Ps. 55:22. How comforting it is for us to ‘throw our burden on Jehovah,Â’ knowing that ‘he will sustain usÂ’! We can have full confidence that God can do “more than superabundantly beyond all the things we ask or conceive.” (Eph. 3:20) Imagine that—not just abundantly and not superabundantly but “more than superabundantly”! To receive the reward, we need to exercise full faith in Jehovah and be obedient to his directions. Moses told the nation of Israel: “Jehovah will surely bless you in the land that Jehovah your God is giving you to possess as an inheritance, but only if you strictly obey the voice of J…

Russia’s top court has ruled that police can confiscate anyone’s electronics for social media posts they deem “extremist” without criminal prosecution. Police can impound “any property” of an individual deemed to be an extremist or connected to a terrorist organization, according to the ruling from the Russian Supreme Court. “This property may include cellphones, personal computers, other electronic means of communication,” the resolution reads on the Russian Supreme Court’s website, according to a report from The Moscow Times Thursday. For perspective, Russia considers a wide range of political and religious dissent as “extremist” views. The Jehovah’s Witnesses…

In a surprising move, a branch of the Russian government has called out the actions of their government’s police and judicial forces in the enforcement of the ban of Jehovah Witnesses. The ban occurred last year when the Russian Supreme Court labeled the religious denomination an “extremist organization.” This has led to arrests of over a dozen Jehovah’s Witnesses, the closing of all administrative and religious worship buildings, and near constant harassment by police forces for the private practice of their faith. Several wives of arrested Jehovah’s Witnesses created a joint statement begging for their release. The Presidential Council is designed to help assist the Ru…

By Andrew Osborn MOSCOW (Reuters) – Advisers to President Vladimir Putin have questioned the legality of a slew of criminal cases opened against members of the Jehovah’s Witnesses in Russia and asked the General Prosecutor’s office to protect the group’s freedom of belief. Russia’s Supreme Court ruled in April last year that the Jehovah’s Witnesses were an “extremist” organisation and must disband, a move the group unsuccessfully appealed. Since then, at least 19 members have been detained on criminal charges in Russia with one, Danish citizen Dennis Christensen, now held for more than a year and put on trial for extremism. The Russian Presidential Cou…

Setting the mind on the flesh means enmity with God, for it is not in subjection to the law of God.—Rom. 8:7. Self-examination is important. Why? Paul wrote: “Setting the mind on the flesh means death.” (Rom. 8:6) That is serious—spiritual death now and physical death in the future. Still, Paul did not mean that if someone began to ‘set the mind on the fleshÂ’ his end unavoidably would be death. Change is possible. Think of the immoral man in Corinth who went after “the flesh” and had to be disfellowshipped. Yet, he could and did change. He ceased to walk after the flesh and returned to a straight path. (2 Cor. 2:6-8) If it was possible for that person to chan…

As you read this.... remember PERCEPTION is 90% of everything. Sometimes it even trumps the truth itself for centuries. It is that important. I suspect we should consider that most businesses no longer require suits (business casual and clean is now ok for most jobs) I try to not bring my electronic devices to my business meetings. It sends the wrong message I think. What is wrong with the Bible and songbook (actual books)? Let's also consider what a Kingdom Hall full of Mercedes and Audis appears like to the public. I remember how I felt as a regular pioneer showing up in California …
