Isaiah 9:6 - Is Jesus ‘a Mighty God’ or ‘Jehovah God’? ‘His name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, the Mighty God (410), the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace’. Watchtower teaching: JWs concede that Jesus is a ‘mighty God’, but they are adamant that He is not Almighty God as Jehovah is. They think that Christ is one of lesser gods. Bible teaching: The Bible shows that both Jesus and Jehovah are called ‘Mighty God’. Jehovah is called ‘Mighty God’ in: a) ‘The remnant of Israel . . . shall stay upon Jehovah, the remnant of Jacob shall return . . unto the mighty God (410)’. (Isaiah 10:20,21). b) ‘the Great, the Mighty God (410), …

JEHOVAH’S NAME or JESUS CHRIST’S NAME. The Watchtower teaches that God’s true Name is Jehovah. They teach that: ‘Sometime during the second or third Century CE, the scribes removed the tetragrammaton (JHWH) from both the Septuagint and the Christian Greek Scriptures and replaced it with κυριος (Lord) or θεος (God)’. Reference Edition of NWT, 1984, p 1564. The Watchtower’s Kingdom Interlinear Translation (KIT) proves that Jesus is Jehovah God. On page 10,11 of the 1985 KIT, under the heading ‘Restoring the Divine Name, Jehovah’ we read: ‘the evidence (what evidence?) is that the original text of the Christian Greek Scriptures has been tampered with (…

CHRIST’S BODILY RESURRECTION ‘I have power to take it again’Jn 10:18 Watchtower Teaching: ‘Jesus was raised to life as an invisible spirit. He did not take up again that body in which he had been killed . . .’ ‘Let your Name be sanctified.’ (p.266). The Watchtower teaches that Jesus’ body was disposed of by God. The NWT mistranslates I Peter 3:18 as ‘being put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit’ to teach merely a spiritual resurrection of Christ. Bible Teaching: I Peter 3:18 refers to when Christ died. His Spirit went and preached to spirits in prison (v. 19,20). After three days, Christ’s physical body was raised. I Peter 3:18 (KJV)…

The watchower CLAIMS to be Gods Prophet. In 1972, the Watchtower described itself as "the modern-day "prophet"". "So, does Jehovah have a prophet to help them, to warn them of dangers and to declare things to come? IDENTIFYING THE "PROPHET" These questions can be answered in the affirmative. Who is this prophet? ... This "prophet" was not one man, but was a body of men and women. It was the small group of footstep followers of Jesus Christ, known at that time as International Bible Students. Today they are known as Jehovah's Christian witnesses. ... Of course, it is easy to say that this group acts as a "prophet" of God. It is another thing to pr…

Past tense since the watchtower predicted armageddon so many times? 1877 'The End Of This World; that is the end of the gospel and the beginning of the millennial age is nearer than most men suppose; indeed we have already entered the transition period, which is to be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation Dan. 12:3." (N.H. Barbour and C.T. Russell, Three Worlds, and the Harvest of This World, p. 17). Â 1888 "In this chapter we present the Bible evidence proving that the full end of the times of the gentiles, i.e., the full end of their lease of dominion, will be reached in A.D. 1914; and that the date will be the farthest limit …

Armageddon - Are You Ready For Jehovah's Day? Definition: The Greek Har Ma·ge·donʹ, taken from Hebrew and rendered “Armageddon” by many translators, means “Mountain of Megiddo,” or “Mountain of Assembly of Troops.” The Bible associates the name, not with a nuclear holocaust, but with the coming universal “war of the great day of God the Almighty.” (Rev. 16:14, 16) This name is applied specifically to “the place [Greek, toʹpon; that is, condition or situation]” to which earth’s political rulers are being gathered in opposition to Jehovah and his Kingdom by Jesus Christ. Such opposition will be shown by global action against Jehovah’s servants on eart…

ARMAGEDDON WHAT IS IT? 14 "The great day of Jehovah is near! It is near and it is approaching very quickly! The sound of the day of Jehovah is bitter. There a warrior cries out." 15 "That day is a day of fury, A day of distress and anguish, A day of storm and desolation, A day of darkness and gloom, A day of clouds and thick gloom," 16 "A day of the horn and of the battle cry, Against the fortified cities and against the high corner towers." 17 "I will cause distress to mankind, And they will walk like blind men, Because it is against Jehovah they have sinned. Their blood will be poured out like dust, And their flesh like the …

Francais David Splane explains the overlapping generation again via JW Broadcasting September 2015 The cutoff date for this generation has now moved to 1992 (was once 1935), the year that Fred Franz died. Therefore now is not the time to become weary - the end is right around the corner. sources below: We understand that in mentioning “this generation,” Jesus was referring to two groups of anointed Christians. The first group was on hand in 1914, and they readily discerned the sign of ChristÂ’s presence in that year. Those who made up this group were not merely alive in 1914, but they were spirit-anointed as sons of God in or befo…

Setting the mind on the flesh means enmity with God, for it is not in subjection to the law of God.—Rom. 8:7. Self-examination is important. Why? Paul wrote: “Setting the mind on the flesh means death.” (Rom. 8:6) That is serious—spiritual death now and physical death in the future. Still, Paul did not mean that if someone began to ‘set the mind on the fleshÂ’ his end unavoidably would be death. Change is possible. Think of the immoral man in Corinth who went after “the flesh” and had to be disfellowshipped. Yet, he could and did change. He ceased to walk after the flesh and returned to a straight path. (2 Cor. 2:6-8) If it was possible for that person to chan…

This is in response to Jack Ryan's thread entitled, "...the angel of Jehovah camps all around those fearing him" https://www.theworldnewsmedia.org/topic/57218-“’the-angel-of-jehovah-camps-all-around-those-fearing-him’/ It concerns the leaked Attendant Training Videos, of which I saw only a condensed review of them. The speaker of the training video remarks:" “Well, with a warm smile, you have the privilege to welcome all to a place of worship where the atmosphere is like a spiritual oasis in a parched land, and by taking the initiative to offer a helping hand you can be like those streams of cool water that bring refreshment to all. And by promoting a safe a…

Ha! Scott Adams tweeted for ideas for his strip and added he would use a submitted one in an upcoming comic. I tweeted: "Maybe play with the idea of the mission statement being written by someone who was binge-watching Mission Impossible. Hmm. Like: ‘If you are caught or killed by this product, our company will disavow any knowledge of your actionsÂ’"  He gave it a like. Let's see if it appears as a cartoon.  Who doesn't love Dilbert?  To another tweet suggesting a play on "our employees are our most valuable asset," I added a quote from 'Tom Irregardless and Me': "He knows it is all hogwash.…

When I was a boy, I heard my father give the Society's hour talk on the book of Job about 10 times. The talk spent a good portion of the time showing that Behemoth was a hippopotamus, and Leviathan was a crocodile. Of course, very little time was spent on the fact that the book of Job also says the following about the Behemoth, which is not at all true of a hippo: (Job 40:15-20) 15 Here, now, is Be·heʹmoth, which I made as I made you. . . . 17It stiffens [or, sways] its tail like a cedar; The sinews of its thighs are woven together. 18 Its bones are tubes of copper; Its limbs are like wrought-iron rods. 19It ranks first [or, "it is the beginning" -- NWT footnote…

Signed by many journalists, lawyers, and human rights people - even the chairman of an LGBT group. Many comments a variation of the "if they came for them, they will come for you" argument. It is as though the earth attempts to come to the aid of the woman once more. Meanwhile, the dramatizations of arrests at the 2016 Regional Convention turns out to be spot-on, not over-the-top, not exaggerated at all. When Witnesses have been arrested, it is frequently with SWAT teamlike tactics. https://www2.stetson.edu/~psteeves/relnews/180619b.html

Through one man sin entered into the world.—Rom. 5:12. Adam was the “one man” through whom sin and death “entered into the world.” Thus “by the trespass of the one man death ruled as king.” Paul added that “the abundance of [GodÂ’s] undeserved kindness” came about “through the one person, Jesus Christ.” (Rom. 5:12, 15, 17) And that undeserved kindness has resulted in good for all mankind. “Through the obedience of the one person [Jesus] many will be made righteous.” Actually, GodÂ’s undeserved kindness can lead to “everlasting life through Jesus Christ.” (Rom. 5:19, 21) Jehovah was not obliged to have his Son come to earth to provide the ransom.
