I’ve got hold on the Norwegian annual report for the JW economy, it is in Norwegian but most of it is easy translated, There are some interesting points: (1$ = 8 NOK, all numbers that follow is NOK) Total support from the Norwegian government 2017 was 13 643 065 in 2017 Gifts and contributions went down from 102 553 652 in 2016 to 59 795 802, that’s 41,6% down in ONE year!YAY! Of the total revenue of 74 620 874 in 2017, 57 076 787 NOK was sent abroad to support “other countries” and written in the annual report as expenses. That’s 76,4% of the revenue in Norway, sent out! And notice how they put it in the annual report as expense…

Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord. And you have become her children.—1 Pet. 3:6. Although Noah and his three sons each had only one wife, polygamy was practiced in patriarchal times. In many cultures, sexual immorality became a way of life, even being incorporated into religious rites. When Abram (Abraham) and his wife, Sarai (Sarah), obeyed God and moved to Canaan, that land was filled with practices that made a mockery of marriage. Jehovah therefore decreed that Sodom and Gomorrah be destroyed because inhabitants of those cities practiced or condoned gross sexual immorality. Abraham took the proper lead in his family, and Sarah set a fine example by submitting…

Organizers of the Jehovah’s Witnesses Regional Convention for the B.C. Southern Interior hope to return to Penticton next year after more than a half-decade holding the annual event in the city. The 2018 convention this weekend marks the sixth straight year the convention has been held at the South Okanagan Events Centre, attracting more than 3,000 Jehovah’s Witnesses to the city. In fact, this year’s convention is estimated to have hit near the 3,500 mark in attendance, a slight rise over the year previous, which marked the end of a five-year contract to hold the event at the SOEC. The event began on Friday and continued through to Sunday at the SOEC. http…

JOHNSTOWN -- More than 3,000 people were in Johnstown this weekend for the annual Jehovah’s Witnesses convention. It's a time of fellowship for many, but it also has a big impact on the local economy. It's the sixth year of the convention at the first summit arena at the Cambria County War Memorial. People from Ohio, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia joined together for the Jehovah’s Witnesses convention. While those inside benefit spiritually, local businesses also benefit financially. Read more: http://wjactv.com/news/local/jehovahs-witnesses-convention-helps-boost-local-economy

Approach the throne of undeserved kindness with freeness of speech.—Heb. 4:16. Jehovah in his undeserved kindness grants us the blessing of approaching his heavenly throne in prayer. He has afforded us this privilege through his Son, “by means of whom we have this freeness of speech and free access with confidence through our faith in him.” (Eph. 3:12) Free access to Jehovah in prayer is indeed a wonderful expression of his undeserved kindness. Paul encouraged us to approach Jehovah freely in prayer, “so that we may receive mercy and find undeserved kindness to help us at the right time.” (Heb. 4:16b) At any time that we are plagued with trials or turmoil in our …

Never before seen footage by the vast majority of JW's (much less anyone else) WHQ (World Head Quarters) Budgets Department host a live worldwide webinar at branch level; held in 2016. This situation is serious, requiring drastic actions predicted to extend past 2020. In this part 1, note the frank resignation to even more cost cuts, staff reductions, and other cost-saving measures. In this part 3, note the admission that the Governing Body "realized" that they were in financial difficulty. In this part 4, note the desperation "for the finances to get back on track", that "will need to play out over 4 to 5 years". A…

Keep looking, keep awake, for you do not know when the appointed time is.—Mark 13:33. As JehovahÂ’s Witnesses, we take seriously JesusÂ’ warning. We know that we are living deep in “the time of the end” and that there cannot be much time left before the “great tribulation” begins! (Dan. 12:4; Matt. 24:21) We see distressing wars, increasing immorality and lawlessness, religious confusion, food shortages, pestilences, and earthquakes taking place around the world. We know that a phenomenal Kingdom-preaching work is being accomplished by JehovahÂ’s people everywhere. (Matt. 24:7, 11, 12, 14; Luke 21:11) We eagerly anticipate what the LordÂ’s coming will mean for us…

Huntsville couple hopes wedding photos will be returned

Chris and Lauren Nelson came back from their honeymoon Wednesday to face some news no bride and groom want to hear: The SD card with most of their wedding photos was stolen, along with the photographer’s bag, from the Rainbow City Community Center. The coupleÂ’s reception was at the center, and the photographer was making some family photos in the atrium when she placed a small black bag, containing her phone, some lenses and other equipment, and the SD card containing photos from the coupleÂ’s wedding rehearsal, rehearsal dinner, getting ready, first looks and the wedding itself, on a round bench. She apparently left it there. Chris said when the photographer n…
