[Jehoshaphat] did what was right in Jehovah’s eyes.—2 Chron. 20:32. Like his father, Asa, Jehoshaphat encouraged the people to search for Jehovah. He did so by organizing a teaching campaign that used “the book of JehovahÂ’s Law.” (2 Chron. 17:7-10) He even went to the territory of the northern kingdom of Israel, to the mountainous region of Ephraim, “to bring them back to Jehovah.” (2 Chron. 19:4) We can all have a share in the great teaching campaign that Jehovah is having done today. Is it your goal each month to teach the Word of God to others, trying to move their heart to serve God? By your extending yourself and with GodÂ’s blessing, you may be able to st…

Do You Ask, “Where Is Jehovah?” Is There Only One True God? PSALMS 83:18 "That people may know that you, whose name is Jehovah, You alone are the Most High over all the earth." JOHN 17:3 "This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ." Only Jehovah is identified in the Scriptures as the Almighty God. In a victory song, Moses led his people in singing: “Who among the gods is like you, O Jehovah?”—Exodus 15:11. Clearly, the Bible places Jehovah above all other gods. But what role do these lesser gods play? Are they and the countless other gods that have …

Elders’ Training Videos for 2018: Pioneering is Just a Title, a Reward and a Punishment 1 2 3

Recently some secret “eldersÂ’ training videos” that are going to be used for the 2018 Kingdom Ministry School of JehovahÂ’s Witnesses were leaked online. One particular video was very disturbing; it showed a skit of three elders discussing what the religion calls “regular pioneers.” These are persons who spend a high amount of time in the preaching and proselytizing work of JehovahÂ’s Witnesses; in 2018, these pioneers were required to report a total of 840 hours for the year, equaling 70 hours per month. The elders, in this demonstration, are discerning if three such pioneers in their congregation should be allowed to remain as pioneers, as each one has failed t…

#OurCreatorJehovahGod? Who Made This? Our Creator of Course! ????? SPOTTED: Astronomers discovered a special kind of neutron star for the first time outside of the Milky Way galaxy! ?? Neutron stars like this one spotted by our @nasachandraxray telescope are formed when a massive star runs out of fuel and collapses. The very central region of the star – the core – collapses, crushing together every proton and electron into a neutron. If the core of the collapsing star is between about 1 and 3 solar masses, these newly-created neutrons can stop the collapse, leaving behind a neutron star.Since neutron stars began their existence as stars, they are found scattered thro…

Why Do We Call Our Galaxy the Milky Way? BY DEANNA KERLEY There are two questions that have haunted wannabe astronomers for decades: “Why is our galaxy called the Milky Way?” and “Does it have anything to do with the delicious candy bar?” Long ago, the Romans named the galaxy “via lactea,” which translates to “road of milk.” The Romans named it via lactea precisely because it looks like a milky patch of sky above the Earth at night. But, the Romans werenÂ’t the first to name the galaxy. The Romans got the name from the Greeks, who called it galaxias kyklos, which translates into “milky circle.” According to the Greek myth, Zeus brought his …

CHURCH 'SHUNS' 15-YEAR-OLD, THEN FATHER – ENDS UP IN COURT

The Supreme Court of Canada Thursday heard arguments in a fight over a church’s “shunning” practice, and said it would release a ruling later, but the congregation involved and several other groups argued that the justices had no right to even take part in the fight. The fight is between Randy Wall, a real estate agent, and the Highwood congregation of the Jehovah’s Witnesses organization in Calgary. Wall was expelled from the congregation for getting drunk and not be properly repentant, court records said. He pursued a church appeals process, unsuccessfully, then went to court because he said the church’s “shunning,” that is, practice of not associating with hi…

Let the elders who preside in a fine way be considered worthy of double honor.—1 Tim. 5:17. Showing honor to those to whom it is due keeps us from becoming self-centered. It helps us to avoid having an inflated opinion of ourselves if some honor comes our way. It also keeps us in line with JehovahÂ’s organization, which refrains from giving humans—whether believers or unbelievers—excessive or undue honor. Moreover, it is the course of wisdom, helping us to avoid being stumbled if some human to whom we showed honor disappoints us. The most important benefit of giving proper honor to those to whom it is due is that we thereby please God. We act as he wants us to and …

‘Evil in Our CenturyÂ’ An interview with the noted British author Anthony Burgess about his best-selling book Earthly Powers appeared in the French newsmagazine LÂ’Express. “The book deals with the manifestations of evil, its emergence in our century, and our inability to fight it,” explained Burgess. “Politicians encourage it, artists look the other way, and even great churchmen like the Pope condone it. That is the image of our world since World War I.” The author observed that evil since that time is different: “No historian has ever interpreted [terrible periods in history] as eruptions of evil”—merely “blunders” in attemptin…

Alexey Navalny's campaign coordinator in Chelyabinsk is reportedly caught with illegal religious literature
by Guest Nicole- 0 replies

Boris Zolotarevsky, the coordinator of Alexey Navalny’s campaign office in Chelyabinsk, is having a rough month. Already on a hunger strike while serving a 25-day jail sentence for organizing a local unpermitted anti-Putin protest on May 5, Zolotarevsky is now reportedly a suspect in an extremism case. On May 29, police apparently found banned religious literature at his home: several books printed by the Jehovah’s Witnesses, which Russia’s Supreme Court outlawed in April 2017 as an extremist organization. A source confirmed to the news agency Interfax that Zolotarevsky previously filed a request with Russia's draft board to avoid military service on religious ground…
