While he publicly denied being a Freemason, much of his symbolism and focus on the pyramids mirrors the masons. Being buried so close to a Freemason cemetery.... I wonder what connection he had.

“Be sober-minded, be alert. Your adversary the devil is prowling around like a roaring lion, looking for anyone he can devour. Resist him, firm in the faith, knowing that the same kind of sufferings are being experienced by your fellow believers throughout the world.” 1 Pet 5:8,9 Watchtower 15/5/15 - The apostle Peter likened Satan to “a roaring lion.” According to one reference work, the Greek word translated “roaring” denotes “the howl of a beast in fierce hunger.” How well that describes Satan’s vicious disposition! Although the whole world already lies in his power, Satan is hungry for more victims. (1 John 5:19) To him, the world might be a mere “appetizer.” I…

Understanding Sheol and Hades results in deeper comprehension of many Bible teachings. It is first good to establish that the Hebrew word Sheol, is the equivalent of the Greek, Hades. We see that demonstrated by a comparison of Acts 2:27 (Hades - Greek) and Psalm 16:10 (Sheol - Hebrew). The Greek word Hades (G-86) consists of a combination of two Greek words-- {From ἄλφα (G1) (as negative particle) and εἴδω(G1492)}. The combination (not + perceiving), means, to be conceptually blind... unable to perceive spiritual light (Mark 4:12). Hades is the symbolic and spiritual consignment, of those in spiritual darkness (Eph.4:18; 2Cor.4:3-4; John 12:35; 1John1:6; 1Thess…

Maintain Loyalty With a Unified Heart “I shall walk in your truth. Unify my heart to fear your name.”—(PS. 86:11) ???????? WHY do some Christians who remain faithful for years despite imprisonment or persecution later succumb to materialism? The answer has to do with our figurative heart—what we really are inside. ???????? The 86th Psalm connects loyalty to a unified heart; that is, a complete heart, one that is not divided. “O do guard my soul, for I am loyal,” prayed the psalmist David. “Save your servant—you are my God—that is trusting in you.” David also prayed: “Instruct me, O Jehovah, about your way. I shall walk in your truth. U…

“And Jesus said to him, “Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head.” Matt 8:20 "Woe to him who builds his palace by unrighteousness, his upper rooms by injustice, making his own people work for nothing, not paying them for their labor. 14 He says, ‘I will build myself a great palace with spacious upper rooms.Â’ So he makes large windows in it, panels it with cedar and decorates it in red. 15 “Does it make you a king to have more and more cedar? Did not your father have food and drink? He did what was right and just, so all went well with him. 16 He defended the cause of the poor…

Walk in modesty with your God.—Mic. 6:8. Our modesty includes making a humble evaluation of ourselves when compared with JehovahÂ’s purity and holiness, for we are completely dependent on him for the best guidance. Also, modesty includes showing respect for the feelings and opinions of others. Therefore, we ‘walk in modesty with GodÂ’ by conforming our lives to his elevated standards and showing respect for other peopleÂ’s sensitivities. Our choice of clothing should not make people conclude anything other than that we are worshippers of Jehovah. Our brothers and sisters as well as people in general should be able to see that we fittingly represent our righteous God…

From now on you will be catching men alive.—Luke 5:10. Jesus had limited time to carry out his ministry. Nevertheless, he took time to cultivate the interest people showed in the good news. For instance, Jesus taught a crowd, using a boat as a platform. On that occasion, he miraculously gave Peter a huge catch of fish and said the words of todayÂ’s text. What result did JesusÂ’ words and actions produce? Peter and his associates “abandoned everything and followed [Jesus].” (Luke 5:1-11) Nicodemus, a member of the Sanhedrin, became interested in JesusÂ’ teaching. He wanted to learn more but was afraid of what others would say if he spoke with Jesus in public. Jesus …

Michael John Hewitt was described as a significant risk to young children and a dangerous offender. A man who took advantage of his position of trust in a Surrey branch of Jehovah's Witnesses and sexually abused three young girls has been sentenced to 15 yearsÂ’ imprisonment on Monday, 12 March at Croydon Crown Court. Michael John Hewitt, 71 and now of Fremington in Devon, was found guilty of eight counts of indecency with children who were all aged under 16 years at the time. He will be on the sex offenders register for life and have a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and Restraining Order served. The court heard that in the 1980s Hewitt, who previous…

"Everyone who calls on the name of Jehovah will be saved."—Rom. 10:13. Perhaps the first time you saw JehovahÂ’s name was when it was shown to you at Psalm 83:18. You may have been surprised to read those words: “That people may know that you, whose name is Jehovah, you alone are the Most High over all the earth.” Since then, you no doubt have used this same scripture to help others come to know our loving God, Jehovah. Although it is important for people to know JehovahÂ’s name, such knowledge in itself is not enough. Notice how the psalmist highlights yet another truth essential to our salvation when he says: “You alone are the Most High over all the eart…

GERMANY Annual invitation of Jehovah's Witnesses to commemorate the death of Jesus Christ On March 3, 2018, Jehovah's Witnesses began a worldwide invitation to commemorate the death of Jesus Christ, also known as the Lord's Supper. "Even if daily life costs a lot of force and sometimes you feel like you're on a merry-go-round, we always find people who escape stress and take time for religious things," says Wolf Bauer, who is with his family . Involved in the invitation campaign. Since last weekend, Jehovah's Witnesses from the two assemblies Sulzfeld and Bretten travel to Kraichgau and are inviting this year's celebration. "We are very happy to be able to …

"You must not follow after the crowd for evil ends." Ö (Ex. 23:2) In taking a long journey, what would you do if you felt unsure about which way to go? You might feel tempted to follow other travelers—especially if you saw a great many making the same choice. Such a course is risky. After all, those travelers may not be heading toward your destination, or they too may be lost.  In this connection, consider a principle that underlies one of the laws given to ancient Israel. Those who served as judges or as witnesses in judicial matters were warned of the danger of ‘following after the crowd.Â’Â Â Without doubt, it is all too easy for imperfe…

‘The Hour of JudgmentÂ’ Has Arrived! - HOW TO GET AWAY SAFE! ~ REVELATION, the last book of the Bible, alerts us to the fact that an angel flying in midheaven has “everlasting good news to declare as glad tidings.” He says in a loud voice: “Fear God and give him glory, because the hour of the judgment by him has arrived.” (Revelation 14:6, 7) That ‘hour of judgmentÂ’ includes both the pronouncement and the execution of divine judgment. An “hour” is a relatively short period of time. It comes as the climax of “the last days.” We live in that time now.—2 Timothy 3:1. The arrival of ‘the hour of judgmentÂ’ is good news to lovers of righteousness. It is a…
