We Must Be Holy in All Our Conduct “Become holy yourselves in all your conduct.”—1 PET. 1:15. ?????????????? Lesson for today. (1 Cor 15:58) 16 We are living in times that are becoming more difficult for Christians. Satan and his agents try to blur the distinction between good and bad, clean and unclean, moral and immoral, ethical and unethical. (Romans 1:24-28; 16:17-19) He has made it so easy for us to pollute our hearts and minds by means of a TV remote control or a computer keyboard. Our spiritual vision can become blurred, or out of focus, so that we fail to discern his crafty acts. Our resolve to live up to our dedication can be weakene…

Negativity is genetic weakness, positive thoughts are given to us through learning how to transform our weakness into strength that God gives us, through Holy Spirit and through transforming our minds to his ways. Prayer and study of God's Word is essential to gain this positive force in our lives. ???????? (Romans 12:2) 2 “And stop being molded by this system of things, but be transformed by making your mind over, so that you may prove to yourselves the good and acceptable and perfect will of God." - Bible Speaks

A Baptist has been given a criminal conviction for refusal to pay a fine for – as the Constitution allows - handing out religious literature on the street. And the UN Working Group on Arbitrary Detention has called for a prisoner of conscience's "immediate" release. On 31 October a Council of Churches Baptist, Yuri Bekker, was given a criminal conviction for refusal to pay a fine imposed in 2016 for handing out religious literature on the street. He was given a one-year suspended prison sentence, one year's restricted rights, and ordered to pay fines and a fee for a state "expert analysis" of his own Christian books. He also faces the theat of losing his home and of …

Are You “Planted” or Just Growing “Somewhere” Out There? ????? Finding Delight in JehovahÂ’s Law Today people try to find success in many ways. They immerse themselves in pursuits that could bring them fame and fortune, which all too often prove to be illusive and disappointing. What, though, can bring true satisfaction and lasting happiness in life? JesusÂ’ words in the Sermon on the Mount provide the answer. He said: “Happy are those conscious of their spiritual need, since the kingdom of the heavens belongs to them.” (Matthew 5:3) Indeed, true happiness comes, not from possessing many material things, but from recognizing and satisfying our spiritual nee…

The 19th and 20th chapters of Revelation will reveal some significant details about the war of Armageddon, and what will happen next. These details will include two major changes to the current understanding and, just as happened with the identity of Babylon the Great, this "vision of change" will be a real stumbling block for many Jehovah's Witnesses. These chapters will be discussed in the next article, but, facing such a serious change of intent for two more subjects, it was decided to treat them separately in the light of all Scripture. First, we must realize that Revelation speaks of the resurrection at the end of the millennium, and not during the millennium .…

The word of God is alive and exerts power.—Heb. 4:12. While they were growing up, some young brothers were not encouraged to pursue spiritual goals. The truth never came first in the life of such young ones. (Matt. 10:24) Therefore, an elder should take time to develop a friendly relationship with a brother he wishes to train for congregation privileges and let him know that he is needed in the congregation. Then, over the course of time, the elder should sit down with the brother to reason on specific scriptures and help him think about his dedication to Jehovah. (Eccl. 5:4; Isa. 6:8; Matt. 6:24, 33; Luke 9:57-62; 1 Cor. 15:58; 2 Cor. 5:15; 13:5) The elder might ask…

Let us by love grow up in all things.—Eph. 4:15. Using the example of the human body, Paul focused on unity under the head of the congregation, Jesus Christ. The apostle spoke of cooperating “through every joint that gives what is needed.” (Eph. 4:16) How can each of us, whether young or old, strong or frail, contribute to the unity and spirituality of the congregation? A key is to submit ourselves to and respect those whom Jesus has designated to provide direction in the congregation, the elders. (Heb. 13:7, 17) We may not always find this easy to do. However, we can with confidence request GodÂ’s guidance. His active force can help us to support the congregation …

Claire DÂ’Angelo (12) is posing for a picture in Lake Central. She has been one of JehovahÂ’s Witnesses all her life, and it is a very big part of her everyday life. Q: What religion are you? A: IÂ’m one of JehovahÂ’s Witnesses. Â Q: What holidays do you not celebrate? A: I donÂ’t celebrate holidays like Halloween, Christmas and Easter because they all have pagan origins, and I identify myself as one of JehovahÂ’s Witnesses. Â Q: Is it a religious reason? A: As JehovahÂ’s Witnesses, we follow the Bible and the Bible does say thatÂ’s really what was significant. Not his birth, not his resurrection, but his death is what we commemor…

New Zealand bans advertising during the holidays Christmas, Easter, Good Friday and ANZAC day.(Good or bad?) source The North Korean regime has banned all indirect criticism of the government and leader Kim Jong-un. Sarcastic expressions such as "This is all America's fault" and "A fool who cannot see the outside world" (an indirect reference to the isolationist leader Kim Jong-un) have now been forbidden. Citizens have also been cautioned against criticizing the government in a series of mass meetings.Source It's not sure how they would prosecute you for breaking this law, but: dying in the Houses of Parliament is technically not allowed because anyon…

Praised be {Jehovah} the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, (1 Peter 1:3) Jesus spoke these things, and raising his eyes to heaven, he said: “Father, the hour has come. Glorify your son so that your son may glorify you, (John 17:1)  This means everlasting life, their coming to know YOU, the only true God, and the one whom you sent, Jesus Christ. (John 17:3)  I have made your name manifest to the men whom you gave me out of the world. They were yours, and you gave them to me, and they have observed your word. (John 17:6) I have given them the glory that you have given me, in order that they may be one just as we are one. (John 17:22)  Righteous Father, th…

"Just as the Father has loved me, so I have loved you; remain in my love. 10 If you observe my commandments, you will remain in my love, just as I have observed the commandments of the Father and remain in his love." (John 15:9,10) ????? Love is a prominent theme throughout these chapters of John, containing JesusÂ’ parting counsel to his followers. In fact, various forms of the word “love” occur there 31 times. JesusÂ’ deep love for his Father, Jehovah, and for his disciples is nowhere made more apparent than in these chapters. JesusÂ’ love for Jehovah can be deduced from all the Gospel accounts of his life, but only John records that Jesus explicitly stat…

Appointed Executioners.        The Lord Jesus Christ is GodÂ’s  Chief Executioner of vengeance. The apostle Paul comforts Christians with the words: “It is righteous on GodÂ’s part to repay tribulation to those who make tribulation for you, but, to you who suffer tribulation, relief along with us at the revelation of the Lord Jesus from heaven with his powerful angels in a flaming fire, as he brings vengeance upon those who do not know God and those who do not obey the good news about …

You can retract the “like” you put under my comment, you know. Here’s another scripture (that you may not read) Gen 11:4 So…you can’t read the scriptures because they were typed by an “apostate’s” hand? The scriptures were a response to the twinkle I see in your eye concerning the power, feats, and display of the organization. You are bought and sold on what you physically see, forgetting that nothing can be built for God (as if he needed anything) Acts 17:24,25 I was already on the downward spiral while submitting myself to a false priesthood, a false sense of security, and a GB who, although they have admitted that Christ will not proclaim any…

Are You Depressed? Loaded Down? Overwhelmed? Overcome with Sadness? Read about an Example in the Bible that will help you learn what Helped her Depression. When we feel loaded down, overwhelmed, or overcome with sadness, we do well to follow Hannah’s example and speak openly to the One whom the Bible calls the “Hearer of prayer.” (Psalm 65:2) If we do so in faith, we too may find that our sadness is replaced by “the peace of God that excels all thought.”—Philippians 4:6, 7 Hannah then uttered a prayer that God deemed worthy of inclusion in his inspired Word. As you read her words recorded at 1 Samuel 2:1-10, you will find the depth of her faith conveye…

Treatment of the first three chapters of Zechariah During the study of the biblical books of Daniel and Revelation we used various references to other prophetic books (and beyond) is to give weight to some statements to reveal interesting details. 'Important, however, a thorough examination of these "minor prophets" not just to give support to what has been treated but also to see if the overall picture is very consistent. These systematic treatments might also reveal aspects and add details that, during the discussion of the greatest, have been left out books. Let's start with the first three chapters of Zechariah and t…

This experience was given by Brother Splane of the Governing Body at an assembly in Oahu. They said, everyone at the assembly was tearing up. In an Eastern European country in 1989 there was a huge 8.9 earthquake. 30,000 people died in 4 minutes. It happened in the morning and a man had just returned from taking his small son to school. After he made sure his wife was alright, he went straight back to the school to find his son. When he got there he saw the school was completely flattened like a pancake. Just rubble. He stood there devastated, completely destroyed. Then he remembered a promise he made to his son sometime back. He told him that…

The judicial committee of a congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses asked the Supreme Court of Canada today to rule that Canadian courts do not have the authority to review the expulsion of one of their members — arguing that judicial review by the courts should not extend to decisions by private and voluntary associations that have no effect on the public at large. The Highwood Congregation, located in northwest Calgary, brought its appeal to Ottawa after Randy Wall took the congregation to court for expelling him from the church. The congregation’s judicial committee “disfellowshipped” Wall in the spring of 2014 after his family reported to the group’s elders that he h…
