Why Were the Ten Commandments Shattered? Source of Tablets. The Ten Words were first orally given at Mount Sinai by the angel of Jehovah. (Ex 20:1; 31:18; De 5:22; 9:10; Ac 7:38, 53; see also Ga 3:19; Heb 2:2.) Moses then ascended the mountain to receive the Ten Words in written form on two stone tablets, along with other commandments and instructions. During his extended 40-day stay, the people grew restless and made a molten calf to worship. Descending the mountain, Moses saw this spectacle of idolatry and threw down “the tablets [that] were the workmanship of God,” the very tablets upon which the Ten Words had been written, and shattered them.—Ex 24:1…

Why does the woman of Revelation 12 flee twice? In the prophecy of Revelation 12, the woman in heaven, clothed with the sun, represents the saints, and includes the saints of the Old Testament period as well as the church which began in the first century as related in the New Testament. The woman flees to the wilderness, twice in this chapter. Revelation 12:6 And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days. Revelation 12:14 And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is no…

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-netherlands-women-crime-trfn/netherlands-wants-to-punish-silence-on-sex-abuse-in-closed-communities-idUSKBN25O2IV AMSTERDAM (Thomson Reuters Foundation) - The Dutch government wants to prosecute members of private groups and communities who fail to report sexual abuse in their organisations, a move that comes after Jehovah’s Witnesses rejected demands to tackle the under-reporting of abuse. A 2019 report commissioned by the government to investigate sexual abuse involving Jehovah’s Witnesses found few cases were being reported to police, but group leaders dismissed calls for change and said they were being discriminated against…

I came across this quote from a governing body member’s talk (David Splane, I believe), which was given on the final day of the 2020 convention: “What other religious organization foretells the destruction of a World Empire of False Religion? We're the only ones, because the others are all part of Babylon the Great. They're not going to foretell the future of the destruction in the future. So, the destruction is going to be a surprise to everyone but Jehovah's Witnesses. And when it occurs, there will be no doubt in your minds that you're on the winning side, that you're on Jehovah's side. Some Brothers get all upset over some detail that they don't think that the…

*Loophole 1* - A woman has a miscarriage, or in many cases, various miscarriages. How will those unborn babies be resurrected? And before you say that their god will bless her with those children like he did with his main man, Job, let's assume she is bird food at Armageddon. How will all those babies that died during a miscarriage (or, even an abortion) get resurrected? *Loophole 2* - A 15-year-old girl became a JW martyr and died while giving birth to a girl due to not accepting blood. The girl lives for 40 years and then Armageddon comes. New System (lol...funny name) is in full force and the 15-year-old girl pops out of the ground (resurrected). She will be greet…

Census 1 2

I have a question about the national census that's going on here in America. It's basically just counting the number of people in each state so the government will know how much funding each state will get based on the amount of people in that state. My jw mom said she isn't going to fill it out because jw's are no part of this nation. Is this just a extreme personal view of hers, or do all jw's think this way about this subject, so no jw will be allowed to fill out a census form?

I was having a conversation the other day, about the weather patterns happening across the United States. Beginning again today in the western U.S., flooding rain has presented a potential danger of more destruction to occur in the burned over areas, resulting from the previous two years of massive fires. The earth can benefit from cleansing fires that rid the unruly undergrowth below a forest’s trees, by only removing the thick flammable brush and weeds, as well as downed diseased trees, making way for new growth, new life. In various state agencies, the practice of “controlled burns” benefits the soil’s fertility and increases wildlife habitat with new sustain…

https://www.econotimes.com/Why-freedom-of-religion-will-likely-not-trump-public-health-interests-with-a-future-COVID-19-vaccine-1590782 This week, three leading Australian religious figures have written to Prime Minister Scott Morrison outlining ethical concerns they have with the potential COVID-19 vaccine being developed at Oxford University. The three Sydney archbishops are concerned the vaccine utilises a cell line derived from an aborted foetus. A number of existing vaccines use cells originally taken from aborted foetuses. While the use of these cells is considered ethical by most standards, this does not alleviate religious concerns about the practic…

Jesus was sent to the physical Nation of Israel not to the Gentiles. Matthew 15 v 24. He answered: “I was not sent to anyone except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Physical Israel could have become Spiritual Israel. But the majority of Israel rejected Jesus and killed him. Matthew 22 is where Jesus spoke an illustration about a King and a Wedding feast. verse 2. “The Kingdom of the heavens may be likened to a king who made a marriage feast for his son. 3 And he sent his slaves to call those invited to the marriage feast, but they were unwilling to come. Those that were unwilling to come were the members of physical Israel, the Jews …

https://www.jw.org/en/library/books/bible-teach/what-is-gods-kingdom/ 23 For how long? During the 19th and 20th centuries, sincere Bible students progressively discerned that the waiting period would end in 1914. (Regarding this date, see the Appendix article “1914—A Significant Year in Bible Prophecy.”) World events that began in 1914 confirm that the understanding of these sincere Bible students was correct. The fulfillment of Bible prophecy shows that in 1914, Christ became King and God’s heavenly Kingdom began to rule. Hence, we are living in the “short period of time” that Satan has left. (Revelation 12:12; Psalm 110:2) We can also say with certainty that soon …

Having looked up this scripture, Luke 12 v 48, for another reason I noticed something slightly unusual Berean Study BibleBut the one who unknowingly does things worthy of punishment will be beaten with few blows. From everyone who has been given much, much will be required; and from him who has been entrusted with much, even more will be demanded English Standard VersionBut the one who did not know, and did what deserved a beating, will receive a light beating. This story did bring tears to my eyes. https://www.stabroeknews.com/2020/08/21/news/regional/jamaica/jamaican-woman-loses-seven-of-eight-sons/ Latisha greeted the news team with a welcoming smile when THE WEEKEND STAR visited her at her Corporate Area home. However, behind that smile is anguish and pain. Not only is she mourning the death of her son who passed away from cancer last Wednesday, but she lives with the burden of losing six other boys, all tragically. She said that it is her faith that has kept her going. “I am not yet baptised but it is my Jehovah Witness’ faith that keeps me going,” Latisha said. “I cry a lot for them because they are m…

Below is an excerpt from the "Golden Age" magazine of April 2, 1930 pg 446 Truly, this is a patriarchal organization, from the ground up. Its foundation is formed by such teachings. Remember, 1914 was taught during this same time period; a belief that has changed colors many times since Russel. Should JWs today scoff at the answer to the question, yet readily accept 1914? JWs are quick to state they live according to Jesus’ teachings, while also playing ignorant to what he tells us: “Beware of false prophets. They come to you disguised as sheep, but in their hearts they are vicious wolves. 16 You will know them by what they produce. “People don’t pick…

The 18 Jehovah’s Witnesses arrested in Xinjiang have now been sentenced to long jail terms. Lawyers complain of the inhumane conditions of their detention. https://bitterwinter.org/18-jehovahs-witnesses-sentenced-to-years-in-jail-in-xinjiang/ Bitter Winter has learned that, on June 13, the People’s Court of Korla city in Xinjiang, has sentenced 18 Jehovah’s Witnesses to imprisonment, ranging from two years and six months to six years and six months, on the charge of “organizing and using a xie jiao organization to undermine law enforcement.” As Bitter Winter previously reported, this was the first time that Article 300 of the Chinese Criminal Code was applied for…

It seems that some JWs are taking a great interest in worldly politics, Eastern mentality and Communism. So I thought I would compare the same to the CCJW aka JW Org aka Watchtower. @TrueTomHarley Quote "The group is more important than the individual,‘ is the Eastern mentality going back thousands of years, grounded in Confucianism. The individual rights, even needs, are subservient to the group in such a culture. " subservient = prepared to obey others unquestioningly. I didn't realise that the CCJW was grounded in Confucianism. The Org is more important than the individual. @Arau…

https://www.stokesentinel.co.uk/news/stoke-on-trent-news/north-staffordshire-sex-beast-finally-4401250 Sex beast Mark Longshaw has finally been jailed for inappropriately touching two children - more than three decades after his crimes were 'brushed under the carpet' by Jehovah’s Witness elders. Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court heard he inappropriately touched two children and made them touch him. Elders became aware of the incidents and helped the defendant to ‘cover it up’. “He has had no offences since this came to a conclusion and was disclosed to the church elders at the time. He accepts they helped to brush it under the carpet.” But blind JWs will say …

Revelation 12 provides an overview of three major players in the world today and their impact on end-time events. Whom do the woman, Child and dragon represent, and what can we learn from this section of Bible prophecy? he book of Revelation is a vision from Jesus Christ, given to Him by God the Father, which reveals what is going to happen before His return to establish the Kingdom of God on earth. This fascinating book is also called the Apocalypse, from the Greek word that means revelation. This prophetic book is primarily written in a chronological style with occasional breaks for overviews of specific subjects. Revelation 12 is one of these overviews, provid…

After praising me for bringing the thread back on topic, JWI will maybe curse me for branching it off again—and Arauna, too, for that matter, because it really is a branch. He may even use his secret powers to make this a separate thread—I could live with that if he did. The fork in the road here is Aruana’s link to Time Magazine. Enticed by an absurdly low rate, I subscribed to Time two years ago, with the thought I would cancel when the auto-renewal hit. When it hit, I did cancel, because the magazine—once a powerhouse, now upstaged amidst the digital revolution, seemed no more than “same-old same-old” to me. My curiosity had been peaked by the low subscription rat…

A week ago Donald Trump promised that he will restore normalcy to religious activity. But the Supreme Court has decided against it. Here is an article about that: https://jonathanturley.org/2020/05/30/supreme-court-rules-5-4-to-uphold-pandemic-orders-limiting-church-services/ So, it looks dark for those who want to go back to normal. I start actually to think that the canceling of Jehovah's witnesses meetings in person and field service and cart service could in reality be a partial fulfillment of prophecy in Daniel 11:30,31. “He will go back and hurl denunciations against the holy covenant and act effectively; and he will go back and will give…

Jon and Lily Adams have lost track of the numbers of letters they've posted. “It's a lot,” Mrs. Adams offered with a laugh. She and her husband settle in to write letter after letter at their home in Maumee on Fridays and Saturdays, the days they dedicate to ministry through their kingdom hall. Before the onset of the pandemic, they were joining members of their congregation in fanning out across the neighborhood; these days, they're sharing largely the same message in a more socially distant medium. “Usually I start off by explaining that I'm not able to come and speak with them in person because of everything that's going on with the pandemic, but I still…

Here in East London, South Africa a few years ago a man who was very religious had slight mental problem. The church he belonged to could either not assist, or he did not properly state his problems. In desperation he went to the East London zoo, climbed over the wall of the lion enclosure, walked up to the resting lions and said "Let the battle begin. "The lions killed him." I will not disclose his name, but he may have lived at the same old age home where I am, because I found his Bible. The owner of the old age allowed me to have the Bible
