This is a three part question with THREE related answers: I saw a movie about a year ago about this Cowboy, driving his jeep through the desert, and he comes upon about six cars and pickup trucks grouped together, out in the middle of nowhere ... with bodies all around and in the vehicles. Apparently a drug deal had "gone bad", and the buyers and sellers had killed each other.. The pickup trucks are full of bales of drugs, and the cars are full of suitcases full of money. The Cowboy puts gasoline on the drugs, burning them up, and goes home with the money. Did he STEAL the money ... and does he have a moral responsibility to return it to the people who were goi…

Are You Disappointed in God? ????? “It does not belong to man who is walking even to direct his step.” (Jeremiah 10:23) ????? “WHY ME? Why did God permit this to happen to me?” Those are questions that disturbed 24-year-old Sidnei from Brazil. After an accident on a waterslide, he became permanently confined to a wheelchair. ????? Suffering that results from accident, illness, death of a loved one, natural disaster, or war can easily make people feel disappointed in God. This is nothing new. The patriarch Job of ancient times was struck with one calamity after another. Mistakenly he blamed God, saying: “I cry to you for help, but you do n…

"Beloved ones, by building up yourselves on your most holy faith, and praying with holy spirit, keep yourselves in God’s love."—Jude 20, 21. ????? Once Jehovah has drawn us, we should be concerned with remaining in his love. Remember, the Bible shows that it is possible to drift away or draw away from God. (Heb. 2:1; 3:12, 13) ????? For example, just prior to the statement found at 2 Timothy 2:19, the apostle Paul mentioned Hymenaeus and Philetus. Those two men had evidently belonged to Jehovah at one point, but they later deviated from the truth. (2 Tim. 2:16-18) ????? Recall, too, that in the Galatian congregations, some who had been k…

Who is the Judge over All? - Man? No of course not! He is limited in his knowledge! ???? "If anyone thinks he has acquired knowledge of something, he does not yet know it just as he ought to know it."—1 Cor. 8:2 ???? Do we really know all the details that led up to a dispute? Can we fully understand the backgrounds of the individuals involved? When called upon to judge, how vital it is that elders not let themselves be deceived by falsehood, clever tactics, or rumors! ???? GodÂ’s appointed Judge, Jesus Christ, judges righteously. He does not “judge by any mere appearance to his eyes, nor reprove simply according to the thing heard by his…

Your adversary, the Devil, walks about like a roaring lion, seeking to devour someone.—1 Pet. 5:8. How well this text describes SatanÂ’s vicious disposition! Although the whole world already lies in his power, Satan is hungry for more victims. Satan is intent on devouring JehovahÂ’s people. The waves of persecution he has unleashed against JesusÂ’ followers from the first century until now give evidence of his vicious spirit. A famished lion feels no pity for its prey. It feels no compassion before the kill and experiences no remorse afterward. In a similar way, Satan has shown no pity for those whom he tries to devour. For example, think about how often Satan the De…

Be Wise—Fear God! “The fear of Jehovah is the start of wisdom.” (Proverbs 9:10) ?????? To help us understand what it really means to fear God, let us reflect on the life of one of those examples, King David of ancient Israel. DavidÂ’s life course and his intimate relationship with Jehovah identify him as a truly God-fearing man. ?????? When the Philistines invaded the land of Israel, their nine-and-a-half-foot-tall champion, Goliath, taunted the Israelites, saying in effect: ‘Put up a man to fight me one-on-one! If he wins, we will serve you.Â’ (1 Samuel 17:4-10) ?????? Saul and his entire army were terrified—but not David. He knew tha…

Continue to Benefit From JesusÂ’ Sayings “When Jesus finished these sayings, the effect was that the crowds were astounded at his way of teaching.”—MATT. 7:28. ???? Since the Society does NOT recognize Civil Divorces if there is no adultery, and considers a couple to STILL BE MARRIED ... if a man and wife get divorced civilly ONLY ( perhaps for some economic reason, like bankruptcy, or estate management .... or they cannot stand each other more than a few hours a week .. (health reasons (?)) ... and they still shack up (friends, with benefits..) does the Society sanction these ones in any way? ( For those in Rio Linda ... "friends with benefits" means friends that have sex ...) ....

Draw close to God.—Jas. 4:8. Having regular communication with Jehovah is a vital part of drawing close to him. How can you communicate with God? You talk to Jehovah by means of your frequent prayers to him. (Ps. 142:2) And you allow Jehovah to talk to you, as it were, when you regularly read his written Word and meditate on it. (Isa. 30:20, 21) When you are specific in your prayers, you become more keenly aware of JehovahÂ’s answers, even though they may be subtle. Answered prayers will make Jehovah more real to you. In addition, the more you express your innermost concerns to Jehovah, the closer he will draw to you. Developing a closer relationship with Jehovah is …

Jehovah Is “the Provider of Escape” for Us "But as these things start to occur, stand up straight and lift up your heads, because your deliverance is getting near.” (Luke 21:28) “Jehovah will help them and provide them with escape.”—PS. 37:40 ??????????
