Blessings Greater Than Riches! ????? A Lesson Often Painfully Learned ????? “Once above the poverty line,” noted a thoughtful observer, “increases in income have surprisingly little relation to personal happiness.” Early in the last century, a reporter had that lesson impressed upon him when interviewing Andrew Carnegie, a pioneer of the steel industry, who was then one of the richest men in the world. “I am not to be envied,” Carnegie told him. “How can my wealth help me? I am sixty years old, and I cannot digest my food. I would give all my millions if I could have youth and health.” ????? The reporter then added: “Mr. Carnegie s…

And while she put up with much of it, including her husband's infidelity, it appears that she may have finally reached her limit. She has been granted a temporary restraining order against her nephew, Trent Lamar Jackson. It's alleged in court documents that Trent, who is also a longtime driver for Katherine, has been accessing her bank accounts without her knowledge, using her credit cards for his personal use without her approval and also emotionally abusing her. The claims of abuse state that "Tr…

DRAW CLOSE TO GOD Jehovah “Is Not Partial” ???????????? Have you ever been a victim of discrimination? Have you ever been denied a request, refused a service, or otherwise treated with disdain because of your skin color, ethnic background, or social status? If so, you are far from alone. Here, though, is the good news: Such indignities, though commonplace on earth, are nonexistent in heaven. “God is not partial,” said the Christian apostle Peter with the utmost conviction.—Read Acts 10:34, 35. ???????????? Rather, Jehovah sees what is in our heart. (1 Samuel 16:7; Proverbs 21:2) Peter next said: “In every nation the man that fears him and w…

“The true God is for us a God of saving acts.” (Psalm 68:20) ????? “A God of Saving Acts” The psalmist David wrote: “The true God is for us a God of saving acts.” (Psalm 68:20) Jehovah has repeatedly demonstrated his ability to save his people, either by delivering them from perilous situations or by giving them the strength to endure. (Psalm 34:17; Daniel 6:22; 1 Corinthians 10:13) From your study of the Bible, how many of such “saving acts” can you recall? ????? Do research on such true-life events as the global Deluge of NoahÂ’s day, the deliverance of Lot and his daughters from Sodom and Gomorrah, IsraelÂ’s Exodus from Egypt and trek t…

Prepare Now for Life in the New World – I See a New World! ??????? “Tell them to work at good, . . . so that they may get a firm hold on the real life.”—1 TIMOTHY 6:18, 19. ??????? WE REALLY look forward to “everlasting life.” The apostle Paul described this as “the real life.” (Read 1 Timothy 6:12, 19.) For most, this will mean living forever in Paradise on earth. It is hard to imagine what it will be like to wake up feeling healthy, happy, and satisfied every morning. (Isaiah 35:5, 6) ??????? Think of how good it will be to spend time with your family and friends, including those who will be resurrected. (John 5:28, 29; Ac…

ENDURANCE - NEEDED TO BE A FOLLOWER OF CHRIST — ??????? ??????????? "He that has endured to the end is the one that will be saved."—(Matt. 24:13) The Greek verb hy·po·me?no, literally meaning “remain or stay under,” is rendered ‘remain behindÂ’ in Luke 2:43and Acts 17:14. It also came to have the sense “stand oneÂ’s ground; persevere; remain steadfast,” and is thus translated ‘endure.Â’ (Mt 24:13) The noun hy·po·mo·ne? usually denotes courageous, steadfast, or patient “endurance” that does not lose hope in the face of obstacles, persecutions, trials, or temptations. ??????????? Why Needed. Among the things Christians may have to face…

When conducting a Bible Study for some time (maybe a few months) you find out that the student is not really interested in knowing the Bible message, just wants to enjoy friendship, what do you do? Do you politely explain the main reason of your visit or just stop visiting this person without giving an explanation?

PRAYER – WHY ARE MY PRAYERS NOT ANSWERED? DOES HE HEAR ME? ?????????????? Why might it seem that Jehovah has not answered our prayers? ????????????? Sometimes, though, we might wonder, ‘Why hasnÂ’t Jehovah answeredmy prayers yet?Â’ Remember, he knows when and how to answer our prayers. He knows what we need. We may have to keep on praying for a time to show that we really mean what we say to him and to show him that we truly have faith in him. (Luke 11:5-10) Sometimes Jehovah answers our prayers in a way that we may not expect. For example, we may pray about a difficult situation, but instead of removing the problem, he may give us the strength to e…

Part of a series on: In July 1917, Rutherford had The Finished Mystery published as a seventh volume of the Studies in the Scriptures series. The volume, though written by Fisher and Woodworth, was advertised as Russell's "posthumous work" and "last legacy"[113][114] but contained several interpretations and viewpoints not espoused by Russell,[115][116] including an urging of all Bible Students to cast judgment upon Christendom and its clergy, the adoption of new dates for the fulfillment of particular prophecies, a claim that salvation is tied to membership within the Watch Tower Society, as well as shunning and censuring any who reject the interpretations given in…

Open my eyes so that I may see clearly the wonderful things from your law.—Ps. 119:18. To determine to what extent a less experienced brotherÂ’s thoughts and actions are influenced by Kingdom truth, an elder might ask him, ‘How has your dedication to Jehovah changed the way you use your life?Â’ That question can lead to a meaningful conversation about what makes our sacred service whole-souled. (Mark 12:29, 30) Perhaps at the end of such a conversation, he might say a prayer, asking Jehovah to give the brother the holy spirit he needs to complete his training. How upbuilding it will be for the brother to hear the elderÂ’s heartfelt prayer in his behalf! In the initi…

Locusts came out of the smoke.—Rev. 9:3. Toward the end of the first century C.E., the apostle John received a vision of seven angels, each of whom sounded a trumpet blast. When the fifth angel blew his trumpet, John saw “a star” fall from heaven to earth. The “star” had a key in his hand with which he opened the shaft of an abyss. Thick smoke poured out, and from this came a plague of locusts. Rather than ravage vegetation, the symbolic locusts swarm against “those people who do not have the seal of God on their foreheads.” (Rev. 9:1-4) John no doubt knew how devastating a locust swarm could be. Had not locusts plagued ancient Egypt in MosesÂ’ day? (Ex. 10:12-…

HOW WAS THE PHYSICIAN OF JESUS ? Genetically he is likely to inherit features of his mother Mary who was JEWS. What are the physical features of the Edot Hamizraj Jewish ethnic group living in the eastern Mediterranean ?: Brunettes, large noses, wavy or curly hair. Jesus had a beard. His beard was trimmed and his hair clean and hairy. He must have been of a strong constitution, expelled from the temple, without help from anyone, all those who traded. It took extraordinary physical stamina to travel across Palestine and proclaim his message. To do that he must have been a strong man. When he had resurrected, he had changed a lot, because not even his close…

Well I have a reliable report of the Regional Convention being held this weekend at Cardiff, Wales in the UK this weekend Aug 4th - 6th 2017. Attendance on Saturday morning 3,902 and baptisms 5. My source is certain of those figures and that it was all youngsters, apparently in the mid/late teenage group. My source thinks with less certainty it was 3 girls and 2 lads. I make that just under 0.13%.

THE BUZZARD: If you put a buzzard in a pen that is 6 feet by 8 feet and is entirely open at the top, the bird, in spite of its ability to fly, will be an absolute prisoner. The reason is that a buzzard always begins a flight from the ground with a run of 10 to 12 feet. Without space to run, as is its habit, it will not even attempt to fly, but will remain a prisoner for life in a small jail with no top. THE BAT: The ordinary bat that flies around at night, a remarkable nimble creature in the air, cannot take off from a level place. If it is placed on the floor or flat ground, all it can do is shuffle about helplessly and, no doubt, painfully, until it reaches some sl…

Having “Come to Know God”—What Now? “You have come to know God.”—GAL. 4:9. ????????? We can compare our spiritual growth to the physical growth of a tree. A tree may grow to an amazing size, especially when its root system is deep or extensive. For example, some of the majestic cedars of Lebanon can reach the height of a 12-story building and have strong, penetrating roots and a trunk circumference of up to 40 feet (12 m). (Song of Sol. 5:15) After the initial growth spurt of such a tree stops, the tree still grows but not as noticeably. Year after year, the trunk widens and the roots go deeper and spread farther, producing a more stable tree. ?…

"Living Forever on Earth!" ? ????? What prize is held out to millions who are doing God’s will today? For the great majority of those who choose to do God’s will, the prize worth working for is eternal life in a newworld of God’s making. (Ps. 37:11, 29) Jesus confirmed that this was a valid hope. He said: “Happy are the mild-tempered ones, since they will inherit the earth.” (Matt. 5:5) ????? Jesus himself is the principal one to inherit our earth, as Psalm 2:8, Those sheeplike ones who actually will live on earth will “inherit” the earthly realm of the Kingdom ‘prepared for them from the founding of the world.’ (Matt. 25:34, 46) And we are guar…

Several scriptures that may reveal the identity of the Angel of Wisdom.  “Your servant Jo?ab has done this to change the appearance of things, but my lord has wisdom like that of the angel of the true God and knows all that is happening in the land.” (2 Samuel 14:20) “He is the Maker of the earth by his power, The One who established the productive land by his wisdom And who stretched out the heavens by his understanding.” (Jeremiah 10:12) and (Jeremiah 51:15) “Jehovah founded the earth in wisdom. He solidly established the heavens in discernment.” (Proverbs 3:19) “Jehovah produced me as the beginning of his way, The earliest of his achiev…
