In his recent broadcast video, William Malenfant supported the doctrine that “one flock” referred to in the organization includes everyone – anointed and those not anointed. He states that no one would attempt to “make a name for themselves to seek personal glory”. Thus, he is implying that JWs would not seek out the names of God’s priests to “follow them”. (1 Pet 2:5,9; 1 Cor 3:16,17; Eph 2:20-22; 4:7,8,11,12) “That’s not what we do”, he says. And, he’s right. Although we do not follow the individual, God’s faithful priests are sought out as the source of the living water of God’s word. (Lev 10:11; Matt 18:10;5:14-16; 1 Pet 2:9; Heb 8:10) Mal 2:7 - “…

A Russian-controlled ‘court’ in occupied Crimea has rejected the appeal brought by Serhiy Filatov, a 47-year-old Jehovah’s Witness from Dzhankoy, against his six-year prison sentence for practising his faith. Russia has now not only reinstated Soviet persecution of the Jehovah’s Witnesses, but is breaching international law by applying such repressive measures on illegally occupied territory. The hearing before ‘judge’ Edward Belousov, of the Crimean High Court, was held on 26 May behind closed doors. This was due to restrictions over the pandemic but did mean that Filatov, who took part by video link from the SIZO [remand prison] was deprived of the chance to see …

Very interesting and detailed as usual. B W Schulz and R. M. de Vienne (deceased) showed themselves again to be meticulous researches who clearly took time to read a lot of source material to avoid jumping to conclusions. This topic is an area full of ideas that were arrived at this way. Some of the details here I have never seen anywhere else. If anyone has learned things from any of his books so far that they would like to share, or discuss, or even disagree with, then I hope they'll join a conversation about it. I've read the N.H.Barbour book and Volume 1 of "Separate Identity." I learned a lot from both of those.

When I first came to this site I chose the name "The Bible's Advocate" to discuss some doctrinal issues. But I never used it. I "temporarily" chose the name "JW Insider" because I also wanted to share a couple dozen trivia items that I figured no one else would be sharing. But I never got around to sharing the trivia items. By now, I'm stuck with "JW Insider" although I don't really like the name. And I also decided that the trivia items were . . . well . . . too trivial to worry about. But I figured I might start sharing a few more things and see how it goes. (My family has a long history with the Watchtower Society, some going back to Russell's time. Since my grea…

My mother who is up there in age...70's. Their congregation decided to stop meetings at the kingdom hall and forgo their assembly. The local congregation is taking steps to minimize socialization and are doing their meetings via zoom and facebook, etc. I want to thank the brother of my mother for providing her with a brand new I-pad...wish I could afford one...but I helped her get jw.org in it and facebook and zoom to the best of my abilities. At her age she finds it extremely important to stay connected. t her jw family. I am glad the governing body decided to let individual congregations do their stuff on line. Haters and anti jw's would have people think the opposite.…

When I am captain of the dodge ball team, choosing up players, my first choice will be Joseph. Just look at his stats: “From the time [Potiphar] appointed him over his house and in charge of all that was his, Jehovah kept blessing the house of the Egyptian because of Joseph, and Jehovah’s blessing came to be on all that he had in the house and in the field. He eventually left everything that was his in Joseph’s care, and he gave no thought to anything except the food he was eating.” (Genesis 39:5-6) “So the chief officer of the prison put Joseph in charge of all the prisoners in the prison, and everything that they were doing there, he was the one having it done…

On May 6, 2020, the UN Human Rights Council Working Group on Arbitrary Detention prepared a decision concerning 18 believers in Russia. The Group considers the cases brought against them to be unlawful, urges authorities to immediately release those arrested, in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic, and to “take appropriate measures against those responsible for the violation of their rights.” The authoritative UN body considered the complaint of eighteen Russian believers from Volgograd, Kemerovo, Smolensk, Penza, Perm and Novozybkov. Ten of them were arrested and detained in the pre-trial detention center: Andrey Magliv, Igor Yegozaryan, Ruslan Korolev, Vladimir K…

“Detainees in Eritrea are at great risk of contracting infectious diseases because of the overcrowded and unsanitary conditions they are being held in,” said Deprose Muchena. At the Mai Serwa Asmera Flowers facility, in reality a forced labour camp where Jehovah’s Witnesses and other detainees are forced to work on flower farms, there are no toilets for detainees. All 700 of them, both men and women, relieve themselves out in the open. At Mai Serwa Maximum Security prison, there are only 20 toilets for 500 detainees. In Adi Abeyito, detainees can relieve themselves only twice daily in toilets located outside the compound. The prison has toilets within its ground…

One of the GB “helpers” presented a video about curbing one’s curiosity concerning the anointed in the organization. He is a confident speaker, delivering his information in a powerful, convincing manner. Resulting from it, was a comment made by @Srecko Sostar, a member on this forum: “It seems how WT Society have only one group of "anointed generation", and that is present GB. In his morning worship talk Mr. Malenfant explained this: ‘we don't need to know all names of the anointed on earth today, .... ... in our congregations we see the emblems being passed and we can see individuals partaking in ... ...it would be pointless to try and ascertain …

My jw mom downloaded jw.org, and since then she has had nothing but problems. Her password changes all the time, even though she never changed her password, but jw.org tells her she needs to change her password just to get into her computer. My brother and I are jumping through hoops to get her reconnected via loop. Has the governing body found a way to hijack people...they do after all pay millions to lawyers, why not IT techs. Is my jw mom a victim of WTBTS? And they are asking for donations. Or do you know if someone is using the jw website to con people?

DENVER — Heartbreak and hope happen every day inside hospitals. The James family experienced heartbreak when 26-year-old Amber James couldn't breathe. She went to a nearby hospital in Thornton but was transferred to Presbyterian/St. Luke's Medical Center in Denver when her condition got worse. James tested positive for COVID-19 while she was 33 weeks pregnant. “I’m here at home powerless not knowing what to do I can’t do anything," said Brett James, her husband, who was not allowed to visit her. "I had never been away from her while she was sick. Ever." Less than 24 hours after Amber was transferred, doctors put her on a ventilator. The next d…

I visited religionnews.com and found that my religion does not exist. Jehovah's Witnesses are nowhere listed in their tree of faiths. Everyone else is. Jehovah's Witnesses are not. Can it be? RNS "strive to inform, illuminate and inspire public discourse on matters relating to belief and convictions," says their About page. So where are Jehovah's Witnesses?Few religions have been in the news as much as they, especially with their recent ban in Russia. Is Religion News Service a Russian site? No. Is it their aim to suck up to the Russians? I don't think so. So where are the Witnesses? The reason that there is not a Jeopardy clue: "They visit door to door to speak abo…

Of the 87 Jehovah's Witnesses on trial in 39 cases for "continuing the activities of a banned extremist organisation" for exercising freedom of religion or belief, 85-year-old Yelena Zayshchuk is the oldest. Five fellow defendants in her case are in their sixties or seventies. All face up to six years' imprisonment if convicted. Two defendants in their sixties died in April before trials began. At least 18 of the 87 Jehovah's Witnesses on trial on charges of "continuing the activities of a banned extremist organisation" for exercising their right to freedom of religion or belief are in their sixties, seventies or eighties. Another defendant died in Kirov in April sho…

Brothers and Sisters associated with the Watchtower society May 9, 2020 I have tried to inform you of the necessary adjustments you ought to take in order to truly be in the truth. But my efforts have remained fruitless. You well know the biblical procedure. Before punishing, God sends his messengers to expose the fault. And if the advice is ignored, then there is left only one option, a punishment. A very illustrative example was Pharaoh. God brought upon him 10 plagues. The first plagues were not so severe. But as Pharaoh did not change God had to bring upon him even more hard-hitting plagues. It was a shock that the Russian governmen…

"If you look in the backyard of the Watchtower Society you will see a trashpile of teachings that were presented to every man woman and child on this earth as a teaching of God, the Almighty. Those churches that were not teaching it, were not teaching the “truth”.

The whereabouts of the ark of the covenant has been a source of fascination and intrigue for centuries. It is thought that during King Manasseh’s reign, the ark was removed from the temple, either by the priesthood or by Manasseh himself, to make way for his idols. (2 Chron 33:7,9; 2 Kings 21:4) From there, it is said to have been moved to Ethiopia, and to this day is kept under guard by a succession of monks at a Catholic church. Yet, King Josiah who reigned after Manasseh, referred to the ark no longer being a burden on the shoulders of the priests. (2 Chron 35:3) Some speculate that this meant Josiah may have become aware of a future Babylonian siege. He then hid …

Durban - The parents of three children who are Jehovah’s Witnesses have suggested to the Durban High Court that erythropoietin can be used to treat their children instead of blood transfusions. Erythropoietin is a drug-based treatment which stimulates the production of red blood cells. The parents’ submissions were filed against an interim order granted in the high court which permitted doctors to administer blood transfusions for their children should they be required. The application for the orders was brought separately before court because each child was admitted to hospital and their parents refused to allow them to have blood transfusions because it w…

PLANS to turn a vacant retail unit into a Kingdom Hall for Jehovah’s Witnesses have been approved. Eden District Council has given the go-ahead for The Watchtower Bible & Tract Society of Britain’s proposal for the half-acre site, on the A66, Coupland Beck, in Appleby. According to the design and access statement: “The proposal is located adjacent a residential property. “The area is open rural farmland with just a handful of houses. “These comprise generally of two storey stone homes, render and rough cast walls under, generally, a slate roof.” It also stated: “The local congregation was established in the mid 1950’s and has steadily grown si…

More than 4,000 prisoners of concentration camps wore purple triangles on their chests. Because of their faith, they refused to salute Hitler, pick up weapons and fight. On the 75th anniversary of the liberation, the peace-loving Jehovah’s Witnesses are again in prison, this time in Russia. How did the liberating country become an oppressor? https://jw-russia.org/en/news/2020/05/3.html

Whatever happened to Watchtower Farms? Many years ago I visited, and toured "Watchtower farms", which if memory serves, was in Wallkill, New York. This was a working farm that supplied much or most of the food served to Bethel, in NYC., and elsewhere. The thought occurred to me today that sometime in the past they closed down the whole operation, and started buying food commercially.... and that I knew NONE of the details. The only thing I remember is they had a pond full of Turtles, and across the main road there were parachutists coming down behind the hills I could see, and someone told me that "over there" was a Marine base. …

Early life Jackson was born Kattie B. Screws in Barbour County, Alabama, to Martha (née Upshaw; December 14, 1907 – April 25, 1990) and Prince Albert Screws (October 16, 1907 – January 21, 1997). When Jackson was four, her father changed his surname to “Scruse”, and renamed his daughter to Katherine Esther. The younger of two daughters, Jackson contracted polio at two but survived the disease. Effects of the disease left her with a noticeable permanent limp. At four, Jackson’s family moved to East Chicago, Indiana, a suburb outside Chicago and next to Gary, Indiana in northwest Indiana. As a child, Jackson aspired to become a country singer but was dismayed to find t…
