PRISONS ARE fecund incubators for coronavirus — people in tight proximity, surfaces easily contaminated, closed internal spaces, poor hygiene and lack of medicines. For those around the world who have been thrown into jails for their beliefs, the pandemic could become a death sentence. Prisoners everywhere must be protected from the virus on humanitarian grounds, and political prisoners ought to be freed now so they do not die for their words and convictions. In Kyrgyzstan, journalist Azimjon Askarov is ill. Let him go. Iran must release Iranian American businessman Siamak Namazi, held for more than four years in Evin prison. In Russia, the political prisoners includ…

My wife and i sat and watched this Special Talk on Sunday 5th April 2020 In honesty I thought it was a bit weak, but I suppose it was for 'people of the world', or was it to convince the congregants ? However the stupidity of starting the talk with the idea of comparing to other religions and their morality. Come on, even some of you have said CSA is everywhere, in all religions. And divorce, and fornication. The CCJW is not seen as the clean religion standing out above other religions anymore. It is rather naive to think that the public find the CCJW cleaner or with higher moral standards. Or was it aimed at JWs ? Who really was he trying to convinc…

*** w1955 7/1 411 Christian Baptism for the New World Society *** 15 A Christian, therefore, cannot be baptized in the name of the one actually doing the immersing or in the name of any man, nor in the name of any organization, but in the name of the Father, the Son and the holy spirit. This shows, among other things, that Christianity is not a denominational affair, that sects have nothing to do with it. “Does the Christ exist divided? Paul was not impaled for you, was he? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul? I am thankful I baptized none of you except Crispus and Gaius, so that no one may say that you were baptized in my name.”—1 Cor. 1:13-15, NW. *** w…

https://www.jw.org/en/bible-teachings/questions/jesus-sacrifice-ransom/ How Is Jesus’ Sacrifice “a Ransom for Many”? Payment. The Bible says that Christians were “bought with a price.” (1 Corinthians 6:20; 7:23) That price is the blood of Jesus, with which he “bought people for God out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation.”—Revelation 5:8, 9. Can we please take a look at this little quote from a JW Org page. Link is above for reference. It looks all good doesn't it ? But is it in fact deceiving ? It's the bit that I've highlighted in RED. It's a part quote from a scripture, AND, it is where I say that JW Org misuses scripture.…

On March 20, 2020, the investigator D. Melnikov opened another criminal case under Part 2 of Article 282.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation against local resident Tatyana Kulakova. Criminal investigations are under way against her husband and eldest son, Dmitriy. The youngest of the Kulakov family, Yevgeniy, for reasons of conscience, asks to replace his military service with alternative civilian service (ACS). However, the authorized bodies unreasonably deny his request, threatening criminal prosecution for “evading military service.” https://www.jw-russia.org/en/news/2020/04/4.html

Nearly six months after being seized, Dushanbe's Military Court jailed 20-year-old Jehovah's Witness conscientious objector Jovidon Bobojonov today (2 April) for two years in a general regime labour camp for refusing compulsory military service. He has already appealed against his conviction. While held in the military unit, personnel tortured Bobojonov with beatings to pressure him to take the military oath and put on uniform. 67-year-old Yuriy Krutyakov was arrested on March 4, 2020, on suspicion of extremism. Now he is placed in the Moscow pre-trial Detention Center No. 4, a special unit for particularly dangerous criminals. Yuriy suffers from a number of serious diseases, having undergone several operations. Meanwhile, Yuriy was deprived of the Bible. His copy of the Holy Scriptures was withdrawn for verification; until now, the book has not been returned. https://jw-russia.org/en/news/2020/03/9.html

A Russian court has overturned the convictions of six Jehovah’s Witnesses accused of extremism, marking the first instance of the group's worshippers having their verdicts overturned in Russia, the group announced Wednesday. The court in Penza, some 550 kilometers southeast of Moscow, handed five adherents suspended two-year prison sentences in December. The sixth worshipper, Vladimir Alushkin, was jailed for six years after an investigation had shown that he had continued to run the local Jehovah’s Witnesses branch despite the group being outlawed in Russia. I was reading Mathew 24 v 45 onward in an effort to reply to Arauna concerning the Anointed and the Watchtower January 2020 Study Article 5 “Who really is the faithful and discreet slave whom his master appointed over his domestics, to give them their food at the proper time? 46 Happy is that slave if his master on coming finds him doing so! 47 Truly I say to you, he will appoint him over all his belongings.48 “But if ever that evil slave says in his heart, ‘My master is delaying, 49 and he starts to beat his fellow slaves and to eat and drink with the confirmed drunkards, 50 the master of that slave will come on a day that he does not expect and in an hour th…

The 1000 year reign I am amazed how some can teach that the 1000 year reign has already been going on. In Revelation 20 we read about the 1000 year reign. And it comes after the events described in Revelation 19. And those events are first, the execution of judgement of Babylon the Great. Secondly Jesus Christ's marriage feast in heaven. Thirdly the elimination of the wicked from the earth. After that, chapter 20 tells that Satan is locked up in the abyss and can not mislead the nations during 1000 years. During the 1000 years Jesus Christ and the 144000 kings and priest will rule the earth. Quite easy to understand. I believe all Jehovah's witness…

I've just been reading the January 2020 Study Watchtower. (Hard copy mag', not online) In particular Study No 5. Now my previous comment I wrote 3 hours ago on another topic, before I'd even seen this Study article. And what is this Study article about ? It's about the Anointed and WE WILL GO WITH YOU PEOPLE. The 10 men and the Jew. It shows that the 'Jew' are the anointed and the ten men are people that want to serve God properly, with an earthly hope.. However in para' 2 it says 'However they do not view the anointed as their leaders, realising that Jesus fills the role of Leader' Keep that in mind. In para 7, we find this hint once again b…

This past August I went to Patterson and Walkhill, New York. The beauty of it all is that I drove? I can't believe it myself. I have never driven so far. The furthest I have gone is to Naples, FL to visit my family. The first stop was Patterson, New York. This is one of the locations where the publications of Jehovah's Witnesses are printed and produced. Also there are several bible schools being taught here. One of the schools is the Watchtower Bible School of Gilead. Our tour started at 9:15 a.m. and ended around 10:45 a.m. The main theme of Patterson, New York was education. Educating oneself in bible education before engaging in the field ministry. The tour…

To the leading brothers of the Christian congregation of Jehovah's witnesses 2020, 28 March We know that we should worship Jehovah God and love him most of all. But I have recently realized one particular doctrine in the Watchtower literature making it difficult. It is the doctrine of how important the sanctification of Jehovah God is for God himself. The New Testament reveals how loving and caring Jehovah God is toward mankind. There are plenty of Scriptures in the New Testament witnessing about that. Let's remind of them here: John 3:16 “For God loved the world so much that he gave his only-begotten Son, so that everyone exercising faith in hi…

Marie has built her career on the foundation of truth-telling songs like that one, "Go Home." She's the rare jazz vocalist who has put songwriting at the very heart of her enterprise, addressing the human condition through an unvarnished personal lens. In this episode of Jazz Night in America, we'll get to know the person behind that personality: how Marie came up in Virginia, telling stories and making up songs; how she left the Jehovah's Witnesses and her first marriage in search of freedom; how she found her true voice as an artist of political and moral conscience. Vocalist and songwriter René Marie. Lawrence Sumulong https://www.wpr.org/jazz-voc…

"I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge" (Rev 20:4) "If you forgive anyone's sins, their sins are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven." (John 20:23). In the context of the last scripture (John 20:22), Jesus showed how, some are authorized to forgive, or not forgive, sins. It reads; "When He had said this, He breathed on them and said, "Receive the Holy Spirit." It was the breath of holy spirit, which made them qualified priests, to judge. *But who is it, that judges, today?* Is it God's priests, who have received holy spirit from Christ? No. A different identity has been empowered…

It seems the circumstances that prompts disfellowshipped JWs to return to the organization are usually after suffering severe hardships from one’s life choices, or the longing to return to family and friends. It could also be the loss of status and recognition no longer received on the outside. Often, it is a combination of all these reasons. As I listened to a short clip of a circuit overseer’s account relating his choice and experience upon leaving the organization when young, it was apparent that he left for selfish reasons; and, he returned for selfish reasons. There was no awakening to the organization’s falsehoods and hypocrisy, no seeking truth through Je…

Coronavirus: Jehovah’s Witnesses Cancel Historical Evangelism In UK With the apparent failure of the western powers to contain a further spread of the contagious coronavirus, a religious organisation, the Jehovah’s Witnesses (JW), has cancelled its historical mode of evangelism across the United Kingdom. For fear of the disease, the Christian religion organisation, for the first time in the history of its existence, announced the cancellation of its evangelism activities, including house-to-house, street and literature cart witnessing in the entire UK.The cancellation was coming for the first time in 139 years since the religion sect got to London in 1881 and the openi…

HOLDERNESS — A man who allegedly used a shotgun to blast holes in the walls inside the local Jehovah’s Witnesses Kingdom Hall and who then allegedly poured gasoline around the front entry door went there to commit suicide, according to a police affidavit. David U. Petrell, 37, of 22 Circle Drive in Ashland was being held at gunpoint by multiple officers when he was tackled by Holderness Police Sgt. Michael Grier as Petrell was still standing over a 12-gauge pump-action shotgun he had dropped in compliance with orders. Grier wrote in the affidavit that as he placed Petrell in the cruiser he could smell alcohol on his breath and that the defendant said, “I own it …
