Norwegian immigration directorate (UDI) confirms that more Jehovah’s Witnesses from Russia are granted asylum in the Nordic country. They seek protection and fear persecution because of their religion, UDI spokeswoman Oda Gilleberg says to newspaper Vårt Land. There has been a growing number of asylum seekers from the religious community in Russia over the last years. In 2009, a total of nine Russian got Norwegian asylum and some of these were Jehovah’s Witnesses, Aftenposten reports. In 2018, police in Murmansk started a series of raids against the religious community in the region. More than a thousand people are now seeking asylum in several Europea…

"If We Only Understood" by Brother C.T.Russell Could we draw aside the curtains That surround each other's lives, See the naked heart and spirit, Know what spur the action gives- Often we would find it better, Purer than we judged we would We would love each other better If we only understood. Could we judge all deeds by motives, See the good and bad within, Often we would love the sinner All the while we loathe the sin. Could we know the powers working To overthrow integrity, We would judge each other's errors With more patient charity. If we knew the cares and trials, Knew the efforts all in vain, And the bitter disappointments…

The former Leverich Towers Hotel at 21 Clark Street in Brooklyn Heights has had many lives—a residential hotel for wealthy Brooklynites, a Yiddish radio station and apartments for Jehovah’s Witnesses. Now it’s being renovated into a high-end senior living facility where typical rooms rent for $10,000 to $16,000 a month. https://commercialobserver.com/2020/02/former-jehovahs-witness-dorm-becomes-luxe-senior-living-facility-in-brooklyn-heights/#slide3

Since Jehovah’s Witnesses deny blood transfusion on religious grounds and liver transplantation is historically related to potential massive perioperative blood loss, therefore, Jehovah’s Witnesses represent a great clinical challenge when indicated to this procedure, and keeping this in mind, researchers undertook this retrospective review to define a perioperative management pathway with strategies toward a transfusion-free environment, to ultimately afford not only liver transplant to selected Jehovah’s Witnesses patients but also to translate this practice to all general surgical procedures. They analyzed data for Jehovah’s Witnesses patients who had liver transplanta…

2006 - AND THE ENFORCEMENT OF U.N. RESOLUTION - A/RES/60/288 In September 2006 the United Nations General Assembly adopted a GLOBAL COUNTER-TERRORISM STRATEGY resolution (A/RES/60/288). Although not a binding resolution, it was hailed as a landmark U.N. plan of action designed to enhance national, regional and international efforts to counter terrorism. (See page 1, 2 of 60/288) Please note that this resolution began to link the combating of religious intolerance, discrimination and defamation with counter-terrorist initiatives. Governments involved would report back to the U.N. on the progress made in regards to its implementation. In “Pillar 1”, thi…

The WT organization puts much importance on 1918 and 1919. But those beliefs are farfetched applications on Bible prophecies obscuring the urgent need to understand the true meaning of those prophecies. Because it will affect all Jehovah's witnesses. Let's see why those explanations are untrue. For example the publication Daniel's prophecy dp gives some explanations that can quite easily be debunked. Here is the explanation from jw.org: https://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/1101999037#h=25 10 Has there been such a spiritual revival of God’s anointed servants in the time of the end? Yes! It is a historical reality that in 1918 a small remnant of faithful Christians…

A Russian court has convicted three followers of the Jehovah’s Witnesses of participating in a religion banned for extremism. They were given suspended sentences of up to 2 1/2 years. “Russian authorities today are following in the footsteps of their Soviet predecessors”, said a spokesman for the Jehovah’s Witnesses world headquarters in Warwick, New York. The country has convicted 24 members since 2017, when it banned the denomination. Russia is known for its laws intended to crack down on opposition activists and religious minorities. In November, Russia angered the West with by announcing a law that allows the Kremlin to label journalists and ordinary pe…

I wonder how much ice cream money went into this and who decided to spend it thus instead of saving someone from dying in agony... A report like this is easy to purchase. The authors have no morals or credibility and the 'report' was built off a set of required talking points provided by the watchtower. The very fact that they spent an massive pile of ice cream money on something completely non-binding means they are mortified of the possibility that the Dutch report will cause a massive Exodus. He was even interviewed by JW.ORG and you can download the video here: https://www.jw.org/en/news/legal/by-region/russia/dr-massimo-introvigne-interview/ …

Is it really necessary to preach as much as the WT organization urges? Haven't we all felt that it is quite unproductive to go back to territories that we have worked through many times already? In a such case, could we not just focus on doing fine works and working on to put on the new personality? And make progress in becoming one with God and Christ and our brothers and sisters? John 17:22 I have given them the glory that you have given me, in order that they may be one just as we are one. 23 I in union with them and you in union with me, in order that they may be perfected into one, so that the world may know that you sent me and that you loved them just as …

The idea above was submitted by a patron. (The 1995 7/1 Watchtower “What is Truth” covers this topic well.) Bonus point: Suppose the room is 75 degrees, but the two men feel it’s too cold or too hot. The cold man decides to change the temperature by adjusting the thermostat so that it’s more comfortable for him, but now the man who feels it is too hot is suffering. This frustrates the hot man, so he adjusts the temperature to cool himself down. Now the cold person is suffering. This is similar to how religions treat the Bible. Christendom’s Churches keep adjusting and changing what the Bible teaches to try to make people more comfortable in their church. For e…

GB member Stephen Lett went "in deep" explanation about climate changes and weather on Earth. He said how JHVH lovingly control of weather for His people blessings stopped in long past (I think Mr Lett had Adam and Eve time period in mind). After, satan became ultimate cause for natural disasters until today. Obviously with, at least, one exception - Noah Flood. That was for sure "so called natural disaster" caused by God. Or by satan? Who will know that after Mr Lett "clarification". Also, Jesus mentioned something about his Father who giving sun and rain (natural phenomena that contribute in regulating weather and to "so called natural disasters") to both good and …

Khujand court has extended Jehovah's Witness pensioner Shamil Khakimov's pre-trial detention for another month. His "crime", for which he was arrested in February, seems to be that he is thought to lead Khujand's Jehovah's Witness community. Against international human rights standards, he is not allowed to read his Bible. A court in the northern city of Khujand has again extended the pre-trial detention of 68-year-old Jehovah's Witness prisoner of conscience Shamil Khakimov until 26 June. He was arrested in February and is being investigated on criminal charges of allegedly "inciting religious hatred", which carry a jail term of between five and ten years. But his r…

Greetings to all from one who has not visited here in a while. I hope this winds up in the right heading(!), and I hope the bros. and sisters who visit here more regularly than I do are well and have Jah’s blessings. Something has come up that surprised me, and I know that certain people here might have input. First, a background: for some years now there has been some contentious discussion among certain academics, namely, between Evangelical types and others outside of their perspective on the status of Jesus in his pre-existence. Of course, the Evangelicals with their fourth-century high Christology don’t have it right. For those who don’t know, Bart Ehrman, …

THE FOUR HORSEMEN—HOW THEIR RIDE AFFECTS YOU The Four Horsemen—Who Are They? The four horsemen may seem mysterious and terrifying, but that does not have to be the case. Why not? Because the Bible and the events of modern history help us to identify clearly what each horseman pictures. And although their ride has signaled calamity on earth, it can also mean good news for you and your family. How so? First, let us determine the identity of each horseman. https://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/2017086#h=2

MOSCOW (Reuters) - A court in the Russian Far East on Tuesday handed a six-year suspended jail sentence to a Jehovah’s Witness, Grigoriy Bubnov, after finding him guilty of extremist activity, a spokesman for the religious group said. Jehovah’s Witnesses have been under pressure for years in Russia, where the dominant Orthodox Church is championed by President Vladimir Putin. Orthodox scholars have cast them as a dangerous foreign sect that erodes state institutions and traditional values, allegations they reject. Russia’s Supreme Court ruled in 2017 that the group was an “extremist” organization and ordered it to disband, a decision that was followed by a crack…

Think about all the people who have riches and yet they don’t have the time to sit down with their family to enjoy a meal. This is nothing new, even in Solomon’s time this was an issue. That is why he wrote the scripture at proverbs 15:17. We shouldn’t imitate the world that prioritizes wealth, entertainment and material possessions over spending time with family in a loving atmosphere. It is not about what we are eating at the dinner table, but who we are eating with. It is not about how fancy the setting is where we share a meal, but about filling that setting with love.
