Give us today our bread for this day.—Matt. 6:11. http://wol.jw.org/en/wol/dt/r1/lp-e/2017/3/8 Notice that this is a personal request not purely for “my” bread for the day but for “our” bread for the day. Victor, a circuit overseer in Africa, explains: “I often sincerely thank Jehovah that my wife and I don’t have to be seriously concerned about where our next meal will come from, nor do we have to worry about who will pay the rent. Our brothers kindly look after us every day. But I do pray that those helping us will manage to handle the economic pressures they face.” If we have sufficient food for many days, we can think of brothers who live in poverty or who a…

NEVER LOSE FAITH! The prophet Daniel also demonstrated the importance of regularity in worship. (Read Daniel 6:4-10, 16.) He did not change his spiritual routine—his habit of praying to God “three times in a day, . . . as he had been regularly doing”—even for one month, although that meant being thrown into the lions’ pit. How clearly his actions indicated to observers that nothing is more important than regular worship of Jehovah!—Matt. 5:16. After Daniel had spent a night in the lions’ pit, the king himself went there and cried out: “O Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God whom you are serving with constancy been able to rescue you from the lions?” …

❤Great Weddings or Great Marriages❤ ( a happy old couple...) "Be completely humble and gentl, be patient, bearing with one another in love." Ephesians 4:2 The glossy, coffee-table book was grandly titled, The Greatest Weddings of All Time. It featured media stars like Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston, Prince Charles and Princess Diana, Marilyn Monroe and Joe DiMaggio, Ted Turner and Jane Fonda. As Mark Early of BreakPoint said, " Sadly, most relationships like those don't last very long, which is probably why the book celebrates great weddings instead of great marriages." Like far too many marriages, partners have little or no idea what qualiti…

Cleanse your hands. . . and purify your hearts.—Jas. 4:8. http://wol.jw.org/en/wol/dt/r1/lp-e/2017/3/7 When we treasure our friendship with Jehovah, we strive to please him in every aspect of our life, including our thoughts. We desire to have “a pure heart” by focusing our minds on what is chaste, virtuous, and praiseworthy. (Ps. 24:3, 4; 51:6; Phil. 4:8) Granted, Jehovah makes allowances for our imperfect nature. He knows that we are prone to improper desires. But we recognize that it saddens him when we nurture wrong thoughts instead of doing all we can to reject them. (Gen. 6:5, 6) Reflecting on this fact makes us ever more determined to keep our thoughts c…

How proud our little *Pioneer - Helper* ! CANADA. These young people have filled out the PRECURSOR HELPER sheet, since their age does not allow them to be an official precursor. An arrangement of the congregation to engage the children with an obligation to their measure. May Jehovah bless them alot ❤

You always have the poor with you.—Matt. 26:11. http://wol.jw.org/en/wol/dt/r1/lp-e/2017/3/6 Did Jesus mean that there would always be poor people on the earth? No, he meant that there would be poor people as long as this corrupt system of things lasts. Today the basic needs of hundreds of millions of people go unmet because of unjust human rule. Yet, relief is in sight! (Ps. 72:16) Jesus’ miracles give us confidence in his ability and his desire soon to use his authority for our good. (Matt. 14:14-21) Though we cannot perform miracles, we can enthusiastically draw people’s attention to God’s inspired Word. Bible prophecies guarantee better times ahead. As dedic…

Do you think a Camel that can go through an eye of a needle? What did it mean in the Bible? What does it mean that Riches may keep us away from gaining life in God's Kingdom? (Matthew 19:16-24) . . .Now, look! a certain one came up to him and said: “Teacher, what good must I do in order to get everlasting life?” 17 He said to him: “Why do you ask me about what is good? One there is that is good. If, though, you want to enter into life, observe the commandments continually.” 18 He said to him: “Which ones?” Jesus said: “Why, You must not murder, You must not commit adultery, You must not steal, You must not bear false witness, 19 Honor [your] father and [your] mother,…

"What is the source of the wars and fights among you? Do they not originate from your fleshly desires that carry on a conflict within you?" (James 4:1) 12 Hatred is what stirs up contentions, but love covers over even all transgressions." 13 On the lips of the understanding person wisdom is found, but the rod is for the back of one in want of heart." 14 The wise are the ones that treasure up knowledge, but the mouth of the foolish one is near to ruin itself." TRANSCRIPT In an earlier Vortex, we reported between the years of 2008 and 2014, 3 million Catholics left the Faith in the United States. So we went digging to see what the numbers are for the the last 15 years, since the turn of the century — essentially one generation. Brace yourselves here: According to the most recent data from solid sources, in the year 2000, 18 million Americans identified themselves as former Catholics — those who had left the Faith. One generation later, as of 2016, that number had swelled to 30 million. Elevent million more Catholics have left the Faith since the turn of the century. There are more Catholics over 50 than under 50. …

A Jehovah's Witness balances surgery with beliefs
by Guest Kurt- 0 replies

JANUARY 26, 2017 When Audrey Butler dedicated herself to becoming a Jehovah's Witness seven years ago, she knew she would never accept a blood transfusion—even if that meant making a choice between life and death. "Well the scriptures do tell us that the blood is the soul. So that's how precious blood is to us. It's your life. It's the person's life," she explains. Butler and other Jehovah's Witnesses believe that several passages in the Bible forbid them from consuming blood in any way, including via blood transfusions. This belief can be at odds with standard medical practice; during the course of surgery, some patients require blood transfusions in order…
