Beloved ones, if this is how God loved us, then we are also under obligation to love one another.—1 John 4:11. http://wol.jw.org/en/wol/dt/r1/lp-e/2017/2/22 We cannot properly accept God’s love without recognizing our obligation to love our brothers. (1 John 3:16) How can we demonstrate our love in practical ways? Consider the example of Jesus. During his earthly ministry, he gave special attention to lowly ones. He reached out to those with physical infirmities—the lame, the blind, the deaf, and the speechless. (Matt. 11:4, 5) Jesus took pleasure in teaching spiritually hungry ones, those who were viewed by the Jewish religious leaders as “accursed people.” (Jo…

Be Determined to “Let Your Brotherly Love Continue”... The desolating of [Jerusalem] has drawn near.—Luke 21:20. http://wol.jw.org/en/wol/dt/r1/lp-e/2017/2/21 Seeing Jerusalem “surrounded by encamped armies,” just as Jesus had prophesied, Christians in Judea, and especially those living in Jerusalem, had to act decisively. Jesus had warned them that they would need to flee as soon as they saw these events start to unfold. (Luke 21:21-24) In the 28 years since Jesus had uttered that prophecy, the faithful Jewish Christians living in Israel had already faced much opposition and persecution successfully. (Heb. 10:32-34) Yet, Paul knew that they were about to b…

ANOTHER experience from the country of Georgia, related by Pepo, a Sister who was brought up in the Georgian Orthodox Church.... Pepo had heard that Jehovah's Witnesses taught things completely different from the teachings that she had previously cherished, and were taught by the Church she was involved with. Her Mother had heard many positive things about the Witnesses, and she told Pepo.... "Go see for yourself what they teach." Pepo attended some Bible discussions being held in her area. She relates: Each time I raised a question, the Brothers opened the Bible and asked me to read in it. That made a big impression on me ---- I saw with my own eyes, w…

Enhance Your Ability to Select the Right Words Selecting the proper words involves mental effort and good judgement Even Wise King Solomon "pondered and made a through search" in order to find accurate words of truth. Do you find it's often a challenge to come up with "delightful words?" If so you may need to enlarge your vocabulary. One way to do this is to take a note of how words are used in the Bible & even in our Christian publications. 9 "Not only had the congregator become wise but he continually taught the people what he knew, and he pondered and made a thorough search in order to compile many proverbs." 10 "The congrega…

Repentance is a change of mind, that leads to a change of heart, that lead to a change of actions. The change involves both a turning from sin to a turning to God. 8 "Therefore, produce fruits that befits repentance." (Matthew 3:8) NWT jw.org

LIFE STORY Jehovah’s Blessing Has Enriched My Life As told by Melita Jaracz I WAS born in 1927 in the little town of Wakaw, Saskatchewan, Canada. Dad and Mom had seven children, four boys and three girls, so I came to know early in life what it was like to be with people. Our family felt the effects of the desperate economic times of the 1930’s known as the Great Depression. We were not wealthy, but we did not lack food. We had some hens and a cow, so we were never short of eggs, milk, cream, cheese, and butter. As you can imagine, all in our farm family had chores. I have many happy memories of that t…

Meetings for Field Service That Accomplish Their Purpose 1. Meetings for field service have what purpose? 1 On one occasion, Jesus met with 70 of his disciples before they went on a preaching campaign. (Luke 10:1-11) He gave encouragement by reminding them that they would not be alone and that they were being directed by “the Master of the harvest,” Jehovah. He also gave them instructions that equipped them to do the work, and he organized them “by twos.” Today, the meetings we have prior to going out in the ministry serve a similar purpose—to encourage, equip, and organize us. 2. How long should a meeting for field service be? …

Servants in the Past.... ( our loyal Brothers❤ ) Jehovah Cared for His Servants in the Past Servants of God know that Jehovah rewards his faithful ones by supplying their needs and by giving them strength to cope with difficult conditions. Such confidence in God’s ability to provide is, in fact, an essential part of their faith. The apostle Paul wrote: “He that approaches God must believe that he is and that he becomes the rewarder of those earnestly seeking him.”—Hebrews 11:6. Jehovah has always cared for his faithful servants. During a three-and-a-half-year drought, Jehovah provided food for the prophet Elijah. Initially, God commanded ravens to bring Elij…

8 “Remember, please, the word that you commanded your servant Moses: ‘If you act unfaithfully, I will scatter you among the peoples. 9 But if you return to me and observe my commandments and obey them, though your dispersed people should be at the end of the heavens, I will gather them from there and bring them to the place that I have chosen to have my name reside.’" (Neh.1:8,9) 68 "And Jehovah will certainly bring you back to Egypt by ship, by the way that I told you, ‘You will never see it again, and there you will have to sell yourselves to your enemies as male and female slaves, but there will be no buyer.” (Deut.68:28) NWT jw.org Tap screen for…

Our problem with the humility Humility is not a problem, obviously, is the lack of this quality that I’m referring as a problem. And when I mention “our”, I mean “our” in all our levels. And, let me be direct. I see -in general- more humility in sisters than in brothers, more in publishers than in elders, more in elders than in elders with “special responsibilities.” I’m talking in general, I know real fine examples of humility in brothers with big responsibilities in our organization. Ask for forgiveness This is a basic lesson parents teach to their children: “ask for forgiveness” always you’re wrong. And, as Christians we’ve received a lot of fine instru…

13 There is no way to undo a dedication vow, taking back what we promised God. If a person tires of serving Jehovah or of living a Christian way of life, he cannot claim that he was never really dedicated and that his baptism was invalid. * To all intents and purposes, he presented himself as one who was wholly dedicated to God. He will be accountable before Jehovah and the congregation for any serious sins that he may commit. (Rom. 14:12) https://www.jw.org/en/publications/magazines/watchtower-study-april-2017/what-you-vow-pay/#footnote2 Romans 14:10 You, then, why do you judge your brother or sister[a]? Or why do you treat them with contempt? For we will all…

writingwithlegends: This list is by no means complete, but it does list many of the major Egyptian deities. All of these deities also have several different names and variations in spelling those names. Geb: Geb is the god of the Earth. He lies flat on his back, with his wife bent over him. She is held away from him by the god Shu. His wife is Nut and his children are Osiris, Isis, Set, and Nephthys. Nut: Nut is the goddess of the sky. She is bent over her husband, Geb, held apart from him by the god Shu. Her children are Osiris, Isis, Set, and Nephthys. Amun: Amun is a god with a ram’s head that ruled over the wind. He was once king of the gods, and he later was com…

Never Be Anxious! Dealing with anxiety about your past 3 "My whole body is sick because of your indignation. There is no peace within my bones because of my sin." 4 "For my errors loom over my head; Like a heavy burden, they are too much for me to bear." 8 "I have grown numb and become completely crushed; My anguished heart makes me groan aloud." 18 "I confessed my error; I was troubled by my sin." 5 "Finally I confessed my sin to you; I did not cover my error. I said: “I will confess my transgressions to Jehovah.” And you pardoned the error of my sins." (Psalms 32:5) NWT 32 "Happy is the one whose transgression is …
