Why do I believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God ? Psalm, 19:7. - Jas. 1:17. The Bible is actually a collection of 66 books. These books were written by 40 men with really different backgrounds (from shepherds to doctors to kings!) over a time span of 1500 years, in 3 different languages, on 3 different continents. Most of these authors didn't know each other & none of them knew that their writings would become part of this collection, yet they are in harmony. This collection of books shares a common story-line: The creation, fall, and redemption of God's people. It has a common theme: God's universal love for all of humanity. And …

18 "Neither their silver nor their gold will be able to save them in the day of Jehovah’s fury." Wisdom, Faith, Better Than Gold. Though gold has great value, it, like other material riches, is not able to give life to its possessors (Ps 49:6-8; Mt 16:26), and no amount of gold can buy the true wisdom that comes from Jehovah. (Job 28:12, 15-17, 28) His laws, commandments, and discipline are far more desirable than much refined gold. (Ps 19:7-10; 119:72, 127; Pr 8:10) Gold is powerless to deliver in the day of Jehovah’s anger.—Zep 1:18. Men of a materialistic society ridicule faith in God and call it impractical. Nonetheless, the apostle Peter po…

Instruct us about what we should do.—Judg. 13:8. http://wol.jw.org/en/wol/dt/r1/lp-e/2017/1/19 Manoah and his wife were going to have a son! No doubt, Manoah was happy, but he was also aware of the great responsibility that rested on his shoulders. In a nation filled with badness, how could he and his wife successfully raise their son to serve God? Manoah “pleaded with Jehovah,” saying: “Please let the man of the true God [the angel] whom you just sent come again to instruct us about what we should do with the child who will be born.” (Judg. 13:1-8) If you are a parent, you can likely relate to Manoah’s earnest plea. You too bear the weighty responsibility of he…

A blind brother and his seeing dog ..... In England, one of our dear blind brothers had a blind dog, who led him faithfully, and brought him to the assembly meetings every week. He was used to leading his brother to the kingdom hall every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. When our brother died, the dog was handed over to another blind man who was not a Jehovah's Witness. The dog puzzled the man fairly. Every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday the dog was quite excited and wanted to go out, and he always asked his owner to get up and go out with him. At last the man followed the dog, and, without his knowledge, he was taken to the Kingdom hall and led to a seat. The man d…

The Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of Britain had sought a review of a Charity Commission order to hand over documents relating to its statutory inquiry into the charity The body that oversees Jehovah’s Witness congregations in Britain has dropped its application for a judicial review of a Charity Commission order. The move brings to a close a two-and-a-half-year legal dispute between the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of Britain and the regulator, which opened a statutory inquiry into the organisation in May 2014 because of safeguarding concerns. As part of that investigation, the commission issued the charity a production order, requiring i…

The man who signed as an assistor for more than 60 mail-in ballots while volunteering for councilman Shahin Khalique’s campaign could not identify the gender of one resident he claimed to have assisted. Foyes Ali, the assister, said he helped Isidro Amarante with her mail-in ballot at her house. He told former councilman Mohammed Akhtaruzzaman’s attorney Susan Champion she signed the mail-in ballot in front of him. “Do you think Isidro is a her?” asked Champion. “You just said her house.” Isidro Amarante is a him. Ali thought the name Isidro belonged to a female. He quickly began to change her to him. Isidro Amarante and his wife Grecia Amarante, both …

Gb stands for governing body. These men are the anointed leaders of Jehovah’s witnesses worldwide. They sent a letter.. Not just to Nigerian congregations but to congregations worldwide. I attended our weekly meetings today and a letter warning against any ponzi schemes was read. Can’t say everything in it sha but the details were: 1. Trust God for all your financial needs 2. If you’re not sure whether the scheme would crash or not, don’t introduce it to your brothers 3. Never be driven by the love of money 4. Satan is looking for ways to drive Christians into his court. Try to be vigilant At the end of the letter, Hebrew 13: 5 and 6 w…
