Dear Reader, The simple answer is yes. This is the paragraph you are probably referring to: 3 We need to follow the Bible-based direction we receive from the elders. These loyal shepherds within God’s organization are guided by “wholesome,” or “healthful; beneficial,” instruction found in God’s own Book. (1 Tim. 6:3; ftn.) Recall Paul’s counsel regarding disorderly ones in the congregation. Some individuals were ‘not working at all but were meddling with what did not concern them.’ They were evidently admonished by the elders but persisted in disregarding the counsel. How was the congregation to deal with such a person? Paul directed: “Keep this one marked and stop as…

A 36-year-old Canton man admitted to murdering a Jackson Township man last March. Lance L. Rankin was sentenced to 15 years to life in prison on Friday. By Ed Balint
Repository local news editor CANTON Relatives of Stephen Cork sat in court Friday waiting for the man who murdered their loved one to offer an explanation. Maybe he’d express remorse, or give just a few words about why the 64-year-old Cork, a Jackson Township resident, was killed. All they got from Lance Rankin was silence. But they also got the certainty of him spending 15 years to life in prison after the 36-year-old Canton man admitted to killing Cork, an acquaintance, last March. Rankin pleaded gui…

Smoke inside the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses church at 1304 Empire Street in Cortez caused an evacuation Sunday morning. There were no injuries and the building did not catch fire. Services were canceled. The cause was determined to be a faulty motor in a heating system, according to Cortez Fire Department officials. The electricity was shut off and faulty part was contained. About 75 people were evacuated at about 10 a.m. said church elder Phil Conner. “The evacuation was very orderly, and the response from the fire department, ambulance and police was very quick, helpful and professional,” he said. The heater unit is being repaired. Source Via

Woe for the earth and for the sea, because the Devil has come down to you, having great anger, knowing that he has a short period of time.—Rev. 12:12. http://wol.jw.org/en/wol/dt/r1/lp-e/2017/1/8 In 1914, war broke out between nations of Europe—a war that spread and engulfed the whole world. By the time it ended in 1918, terrible food shortages had been experienced and there was a flu epidemic in which more people died than were killed in the war. Thus “the sign” that Jesus had given to identify his invisible presence as earth’s new King started to be fulfilled. (Matt. 24:3-8; Luke 21:10, 11) Ample evidence points to the year 1914 as the time when “a crown was g…
