I was having a discussion on here somewhere with someone, concerning the IICSA investigation into JW Org in the UK. I've just received this email from them so thought I'd put it up on here for people to look at. It doesn't copy and paste exactly as it looks on my email, but here it is anyway :- Our reference: IICSA-0013979 Dear Mr Butler Thank you for contacting the Inquiry on 3 February. As you may be aware, the Inquiry is investigating institutional failure to protect children from sexual abuse in the Anglican and Roman Catholic Churches. In June 2015 it issued a retention order covering documents of interest to the Inquiry to …

Here is the quote from Jehovah's Witnesses calling former members "mentally diseased" https://www.jw.borg/en/publications/magazines/ws20110715/Will-You-Pay-Attention-to-Jehovahs-Clear-Warnings/#?insight[search_id]=11735035-7186-4c2a-bcfd-283925a24106&insight[search_result_index]=0 Where in the scripture does it say that apostates are mentally diseased? I guess that's just their translation.

As had been vocal about this before. We must teach and educate our children, when it comes to things such as sex, when it comes to money, when it comes to child abuse, resolving conflicts, bullying, and a list of other things, we must also teach our children about strangers (Stranger Danger as said in America) https://www.parents.com/parenting/better-parenting/advice/practical-ways-to-talk-to-kids-about-strangers/ https://www.babycenter.com/0_how-to-talk-to-your-child-about-interacting-with-strangers_3657124.bc https://kidshealth.org/en/parents/stranger-smarts.html http://archive.ncpc.org/topics/violent-crime-and-personal-safety/strangers.html …

In northern Russia, seven men have come forward to claim they were tortured by police because of their religious views. The men are all Jehovah’s Witnesses. Their organisation was banned by Russia’s Supreme Court in 2017 as extremist and dozens of Jehovah’s Witnesses have since been detained across the country. Officials in Surgut initially denied the reports of torture, but now say they will investigate. President Vladimir Putin has called the prosecution of Jehovah’s Witnesses ‘utter nonsense’ and asked the Supreme Court for clarification on how the law is applied. BBC correspondent Sarah Rainsford reports.

KEEP TRYING TO MAKE DISCIPLES 14. According to Jesus’ instructions recorded at Matthew 28:19, 20, what do we try our best to do, and why? 14 Read Matthew 28:19, 20. As we conduct Bible studies, we have to try our best to “make disciples . . . , teaching them to observe all the things [Jesus has] commanded.” We need to help people understand how important it is for them to take their stand for Jehovah and his Kingdom. This means trying to motivate people to make the truth their own by applying what they learn, dedicating their life to Jehovah, and getting baptized. Only then will they survive Jehovah’s day.—1 Pet. 3:21. This was taken from …

JW: Good morning sir/ma’am. (Big, upbeat smiles on their faces). We would like you to join our religion. Householder: Umm, I’m tired and hungover (yawns). Umm, what is required to do that? JW: Simply disassociate from your current religion, if you have one, and start working towards baptism in ours. Householder: Can I get baptized today in that pond down the road? (Points down yonder) JW: Well no, it’s a process that could take a year or two and we do the baptisms in a JW approved location. Householder: Hmm, alright. I never heard of you guys before (yawns some more). What kind of things do I need to do to work towards baptism? JW: Stop smoki…

WT Society and JW Organization looking on Education of Priests in "worldly" Schools and Universities who give them Diploma or Credentials, as something that is not needed for serving God in any capacity. It doesn't matter if you are rank and file member or serving as Ministerial servant or an Elder in JW congregation. On the contrary, "higher education", no matter is it question about religious or secular education, is viewed from most JW congregants, as something that is in opposition to God, His Word - Bible, and in fact it is product of corrupted World which is run by devil. For this and some other reasons, WT publications giving advice to members not to go to U…

Norway is the great catalyst that will force the GB to start thinking about basic human rights, as currently there is a lot of discussion in the Norwegian Government about " ... Why are we giving the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society Norwegian dollars (Kroners) every year from Tax money for their charities ... for EACH and every of the approximately 112,000 JWs in Norway (paraphrased), when they prohibit their members to vote"... which THEY consider to be an inalienable, and non-negotiable human right of all peoples, everywhere. The WTB&TS is currently being governed by the Lawyers, Accountants, and the Finances department, with the GB not admitting being person…

DO WE STILL DISFELLOWSHIP THE MENTALLY ILL ? I was a teenager in the 60's, and I had a good friend that on Scout camping trips I introduced to the Truth, and I was there in NYC at Yankee Stadium when he was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witness. He was a true "straight arrow", and pioneered, always dressed immaculately, and eventually over the years became an Elder. One night, at an Elder's Meeting, he announced to the other Elders that he was Jesus Christ, and that his mother was the virgin Mary, and of course he was disfellowshipped. He spent several years in private mental institutions until his insurance money ran out, then in a State institution f…

Church ‘shuns‘ 15-year-old, then father – ends up in court Posted by SDD Contributor on November 9, 2019 at 4:20 am The Supreme Court of Canada heard arguments Thursday in a lawsuit against a religious congregation’s “shunning” practice, but the congregation and several other groups contend the justices had no right to even take part in the case. Randy Wall, a real estate agent, filed the suit against the Highwood congregation of the Jehovah’s Witnesses organization in Calgary, Alberta. Wall was expelled from the congregation for getting drunk and not be properly repentant, court r…

Point 1. I really do laugh at this term "Only game in town" As I've said before the JEWISH RELIGIOUS LEADERS would have said that serving God by obeying THEM and the Mosaic Law, was the only game in town. Jesus however proved those Religious leaders to be wrong. Jesus and his disciples carried over the good points of the Mosaic Law and discarded the bits no longer needed. (Such as animal sacrifices, circumcision etc). Russell & Co came out of former religions. I presume they must have carried over some good points from those former religions, then made adjustments or changed doctrines. So why would it not be possible for people that have left the JW Org t…

So I have heard that witnesses need to pass a 80 question exam by the elders. Why do you need to pass an exam, and if you pass isn't this getting permission from men to have a personal relationship with Christ?

Amber Scorah is author of the memoir Leaving the Witness. Growing up in the Jehovah's Witness faith, Scorah moved to mainland China to become an underground missionary. In China, she came to question these beliefs and left the religion. Shunned by family and friends as an apostate, Scorah was alone in Shanghai and thrown into a world she had only known from the periphery, with no education or support system. After growing up in the Jehovah's Witness faith, Amber learned Mandarin Chinese and moved to Mainland China to become an underground missionary. In China, encountering a new culture and making friends outside the faith for the first time, Amber came to question the be…

JW's preach about Kingdom, Armageddon, and Eternal Life. This eternal life shall be in the future, after the last ordeal/exam at the end of the Kingdom of Christ, that is, at the end of 1000 years of that Kingdom. The concept of eternity and therefore of eternal life for man is great desire of all people. No one wants to die, unless he is very old and infirm or severely ill or in great suffering. But many people, even under such circumstances, have desire to survive and live. JWs are not sure, will they get eternal life. But they have great hope for it, if they remain faithful to God, as they say. Because of such stand, it is interesting to note the famous wor…

Jehovah’s Witnesses have translated Bible-based material from English into over 900 languages. Translation of a written text into another written language is challenging enough. But sign-language translation involves additional work. Many deaf people communicate ideas visually by using their hands and facial expressions, so sign-language translators translate from text to video. In this way, the Witnesses have translated publications into more than 90 sign languages. Â

As a born-in black JW in the US, Watchtower tried to teach me to be ashamed of my natural body and black features. There would always be talks about how dreads, braids, and afros are dirty, unclean, and unprofessional. According to JWs, being seen with them out in the ministry would bring reproach on Jehovah or judgement from the householders (as if the householder wouldn't see my skin and still be racist if they so choose). In the Watchtower's eyes, just naturally the way our hair grows and is culturally handled is a sin apparently. I noticed many black men that convert to Da Troof shave their heads. Before I finally escaped and became POMO, I remember a young dude …

Although the topic is political, I am starting it within the group I usually comment in. The only person who has engaged the topic to any extent usually comments within this group, too, and I intended to include some of her comments as a starting point. Also, I think there is an excellent lesson to be learned about "truth" in general which might resonate with many of us within this particular group. So. "How bad was Stalin?" Some will say, "What does it matter?" They'll probably conclude that the 'truth' must be somewhere in the middle." Perhaps he only killed a few million rather than many millions. I expect that this is where many people expect to "land" if th…

The testimonies of former followers To overcome the lack of evidence of their false accusations, the opponents remain the "testimony". Former followers testify about their struggle to "get out of Jehovah's Witnesses". Curious sentence that makes you smile. It is known that becoming a Witness is difficult: application of moral principles, change of lifestyle, personal commitment, ... No longer being Witness is very easy however: a simple letter of resignation is enough. The Witnesses also practice the excommunion of those who renounce the practices of Christianity. What credit can be given to these testimonies, many of which are contradictory or inconsis…

The Dutch Parliament has accepted a motion in which is called on the Dutch government to ensure proper care and guidance for apostates. I wonder how the Dutch governement is going to act on this motion. MOTION BY THE MEMBER OF KOOTEN-ARISSEN Proposed 26 September 2019 The Chamber, having heard the deliberations, noting that people from orthodox religious communities may encounter a great deal of resistance from their environment if they choose to abandon certain precepts or their faith; whereas feelings of loneliness, exclusion and sadness for what is lost can cause a grieving process that people need help with; whereas feelings of lonelines…
