I'm android and use Moonreader for studying the Watchtower. And I downloaded the ePub version of the NWT which I added to Moonreader. (I won't use anything but ePub files because of the links that one can click on so easily which aren't available with pdf documents (as far as I know). At any rate, I will add notes in that Moonreader epub NWT whenever I come across an explanation of a scripture. An example was the explanation of how Jesus could be both the twig and root of Jessie from "Digging for Spiritual Gems" in this weeks midweek meeting (Dec 19 - 25, 2016). I simply clicked on the link to the Watchtower's explanation which was there in the workbook, and then copy…

6 "For a child has been born to us, A son has been given to us; And the rulership will rest on his shoulder. His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. 7 To the increase of his rulership And to peace, there will be no end, On the throne of David and on his kingdom In order to establish it firmly and to sustain it Through justice and righteousness, From now on and forever. The zeal of Jehovah of armies will do this." (Isaiah 9:6-8) jw.org IMG_1726.MP4

9 "But the lawless one’s presence is by the operation of Satan with every powerful work and lying signs and wonders." (2 Thess.2:9) Who were the Magi that visited the young child Jesus? Astrologers (Gr., maʹgoi; “Magi,” AS ftn, CC, We; “Magians,” ED) brought gifts to the young child Jesus. (Mt 2:1-16) Commenting on who these maʹgoi were, The Imperial Bible-Dictionary (Vol. II, p. 139) says: “According to Herodotus the magi were a tribe of the Medes [I, 101], who professed to interpret dreams, and had the official charge of sacred rites . . . they were, in short, the learned and priestly class, and having, as was supposed, the skill of deriving from books…

Being a real man involves more than physical attributes, without spirituality a man is incomplete. 14 "But a physical man does not accept the things of the spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot get to know them, because they are examined spiritually." (1 Cor.2:14) jw.org

Brothers worldwide have flooded me with requests to report on how Mr. Claus is doing on his Bible study. Or at least you never know when they may start. I am happy to say he has been doing very well. Ever since that recent Watchtower on beards he is enthused. He drinks in information during each study – he’s a very eager student. And he loves the meetings. It’s even a little annoying. If the speaker makes even the lamest attempt at humor – say, he makes some crack about the microphone being too high or too short for him because the previous speaker was a giant or a pygmy, Mr. Claus will burst out with an earth-shaking ‘HO! HO! HO!’ which is beginning to get on every…

Updated as of Dec 24 2016 MANILA - Singer-composer Jimmy Bondoc defended the family of his friend, singer TJ Sarvida, whose father was shot dead last Wednesday in what police say was a drug-related case. "It is clear to us that this is not a case of EJK [extrajudicial killings]. But we do not impose this opinion on anyone and we would rather that due process takes its course," said Bondoc in a phone interview with ABS-CBN News on Saturday. TJ Sarvida is the vocalist of the Crib band and was part of the Takbo team of artists that urged then Davao City mayor Rodrigo Duterte to run for president. His father, Eleazar Sarvida, was shot dead last Wednesday i…

Unless Jehovah guards the city, it is in vain that the guard stays awake.—Ps. 127:1. http://wol.jw.org/en/wol/dt/r1/lp-e/2016/12/24 Shortly before the nation of Israel entered the Promised Land, tens of thousands of men committed “sexual immorality with the daughters of Moab.” As a result, 24,000 perished at Jehovah’s hand. Imagine—the Israelites were so close to the realization of their long-awaited inheritance, yet they lost out on wonderful blessings because of succumbing to temptation. (Num. 25:1-5, 9) That disastrous example was recorded “for a warning to us upon whom the ends of the systems of things have come.” (1 Cor. 10:6-11) Now in the final part of “t…

Use Technology to “Attend” Conventions and Save Big $

I just spoke with my friend, she is a need greater and is serving in a rural place where there is no electricity, and conditions are not ok, so bad that she told me that she honestly does not imagine me visiting there, although I visit her everywhere she goes...the thing is that the small congregation of around 20 publishers was smart and attending the regional convention was so expensive for them that they decided to buy a modern second hand TV at a bargain price. They had the 3 days regional convention virtually, using a generator, the elder downloaded the assembly program, despite it being an assembly with a different accent they still enjoyed it. There is another sto…

Donald Sohl, vice president of sales and marketing for Cleveland-based White Dove Mattress, a King Koil licensee, died Nov. 3. He was 58. In a statement, White Dove President Bruce Goodman said: “Don has been a part of the White Dove family for over 19 years and we will sorely miss him, his wisdom, knowledge, sense of humor and his tireless commitment to brighten the lives of everyone. Don’s battle with cancer has only reminded us of the type of individual he has always been. He never quit, never gave in, never asked for any sympathy, struggled through daunting medical challenges, but never let any of it affect his work or his commitment to his co-workers and customers.” …
