“Error always seeks the dark, while truth is always enhanced by the light. Error never desires to be investigated. Light always courts a thorough and complete investigation. Light and truth are synonymous” - J.F. Rutherford. "Millions Now Living Will Never Die", page 14.

Hmm. Would this do for a headquarters? Look how some apostate put up a “no-left-turn” sign (into the store!) That might harm book sales—I’d have to take that down.

The Supreme Court Rejected a Case About the Jehovah’s Witnesses and Sex Abuse By Hemant Mehta October 8, 2019 Yesterday, the Supreme Court announced that it would not take up a wild case concerning the organization that oversees the Jehovah’s Witnesses. We can breathe a huge sigh of relief that the case won’t be overturned. (In that link, it’s case 19-40 on page 42.) …

Jesus - The Way, the Truth, the Life Chapter 87 "Only Jehovah God and his Son can receive someone into the heavenly Kingdom or the Paradise on earth under that Kingdom. We should diligently cultivate friendship with them by using what material riches we have in supporting Kingdom interests. Our everlasting future will thus be assured when gold, silver, and other material riches fail or perish." This is saying we can buy, with material riches, a friendship with God and Christ. We can buy, with material riches, our way to eternal life. Do you believe this, JWs? No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be …

I've been able to get my hands on these pictures of the new printed Study Bible which was released at the Annual Meeting yesterday. Has a light brown cover rather than the grey tone of the regular bible. The page edges are gold rather than silver. And it only includes Matthew-Acts. Surprisingly, while many of us were expecting the Org to reduce printing operations even further, this actually wasn't the case this year. Although apparently they did mention that due to the "high resolution colour pages and high quality materials", the Bible is rather "expensive to produce".

Except for some time-consuming events, my husband and I have traveled across the heart of the state of Nevada, numerous times per year, for the last fifteen years. It can be a long, lonely jaunt, but with periods of peace. We know where to look for herds of sheep wandering freely without fences, taking their time in maneuvering to a fresh crop of grass on other side of the highway. We’ve witnessed rogue sheepdogs seemingly searching for their flock. We’ve got it down where the elk hang out, the pronghorn, as well as the long straight stretches that we wish would end sooner than they do. I know I’ve seen every sign along that highway; but their appearance doesn’t always re…

This is a serious conversation between an individual and an elder, concerning Jesus’ apparent cleansing of the organization between the years of 1914-1919. (WT 7/15/2013 pg 11) He asks the elder a legitimate question, “what was this inspection and cleansing work that took place between 1914 and 1919”? I hope all JWs here, will take time to listen in. After 1919, the organiztion... Still celebrated Christmas until 1926 Believed in the cross until late 1920’s Celebrated birthdays until 1951 Still immersed in pyramidology teaching until 1928

The text of an open letter from Roman Makhnev, who has been kept in a pre-trial detention center for months because of his religion, to the governor of the Kaluga region Anatoliy Artamonov, is published below. The believer draws attention to the violations of his rights and asks for a fair hearing. https://jw-russia.org/en/news/19101116-1235.html

There were plenty of press releases and breaking news stories about Russia. But nothing about ARC, Montana, or the Netherlands. Russia banned them for extremism, since they slander other religions, force women to stay in abusive relationships and dissuade young people from getting higher education. That got plenty of attention. But there has been no news about Holland at all. In my opinion, action against a church in Holland is more newsworthy than continued intolerance by a backward nation like Russia. They are just too embarrassed to admit it even happened. After all, Holland is a paragon of freedom and openness. They protected Tyndale…

For proof, you can view the newspaper clipping about it directly from The Brooklyn Daily Eagle's archive (May 3, 1909). ============ PASTOR RUSSELL'S TROUBLES A telegram from Pittsburg states that an attachment for the arrest of Pastor Charles T. Russell has been issued in that city for failure to pay alimony to his wife. Pastor Russell recently moved to Brooklyn, taking over the old Plymouth Bethel in Hicks street as a place of worship. He also moved to this city [Brooklyn] the headquarters of the Millennial Dawn and Watch Tower Society of which he is the head. Pastor Russell -- he does not want to be called doctor or reverend -- was divorced by …

https://www.supremecourt.gov/orders/courtorders/100719zor_m648.pdf (p. 42) It was to be expected. To know more about that case, read the petition, subsequent papers and lower courts' decisions (added as appendices to petition) here: https://www.supremecourt.gov/search.aspx?filename=/docket/docketfiles/html/public/19-40.html UPD. Brief summary of the case: Plaintiff, a minor, sued Watchtower in California over abuse commited by an elder (a former elder, as Watchtower claims) during a slumber party. The trial court ordered Watchtower to produce "all documents received by [Watchtower] in response to the Body of Elders letter dated March 14, 1…

While Prince was not necessarily a political artist, he often talked about race, poverty and faith in his music. He was not associated with a particular political party, and he was also open about never voting. “Well, I don’t vote,” Prince famously told Tavis Smiley while discussing Barack Obama in 2009. “I’ve don’t have nothing to do with it. I’ve got no dog in that race.” Prince cited his faith for not participating in any elections. “The reason why is that I’m one of the Jehovah’s Witnesses and we’ve never voted,” he continued. “That’s not to say I don’t think … President Obama is a very smart individual and he seems like he means well. Prophecy is what…

Jehovah’s Witnesses are a cult in the same sense that Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood was a cult. Note the racial harmony. It was a thought that struck me at the very beginning of the October monthly broadcast, with all of its connotations, both plus and minus. A short time previously I had been watching a good cop shoot em up.

But, there is a way out. First, as a country we need to get back to the basics of our history and the history of the struggle for religious freedom. It seems to me that we are simply repeating the mistakes of our forefathers. In the past, individual conscience was denigrated to such an extreme that every citizen had no choice but to accept the religious views of the monarch and his or her established church. That program was a dismal failure, as the European wars of religion amply illustrate. Second, we need to be educated about the legal significance of freedom of conscience and religion. Throughout the 1940s, ’50s and ’60s, Quebec was the site of some of the greates…

When the world at last wakes up to a problem, it wildly overswings. It misses its target, who ducks, and hits square in the teeth the unsuspecting, innocent, and ordinary joe standing just behind. Will this be soon be the case in the world of blogging? Mr. Admin thinks so. He runs a big site. He will go down at the end of the year, he fears, “as will many, many bloggers and other small ad-supported websites due to onerous and draconian data privacy laws.” He cites an article: “The [California Consumer Privacy Act, to go into effect at year end] was supposed to curb the purportedly abusive privacy practices of internet giants (like Google and Facebook) and …
