Oct. 19, 1934 - Nov. 25, 2016 John F. Fix, who started with The Buffalo News as a paperboy and retired as a district circulation manager, died Nov. 25 in Hospice Buffalo, Cheektowaga, after a four-month illness. He was 82. Mr. Fix, a Town of Tonawanda resident, was born in Buffalo, joined what was then The Buffalo Evening News as a paperboy at age 13, the year after his father died, to help earn money for the family. In 1952, when he graduated from the former Pine Hill High School in Buffalo, he gave up his paper route on his 18th birthday. He then joined The News Circulation Department full-time as a hopper, who hopped on and off trucks delivering bundles …

Repentance is a change of mind, that leads to a change of heart, that leads to a change of actions. The change involves a turning from sin and a turning to God. 8 "Therefore, produce fruit that befits repentance." (Matthew 3:8)

The Bible says: "Do not learn the way of the nations. . .For the customs of the peoples are a delusion. It is just a tree of the forest that is cut down. . .They adorn it with silver and gold and fasten it with hammer and nails so that it will not fall over." (Jeremiah 10:2-4) The Encyclopædia Britannica states regarding the Christmas tree: “Tree worship was common among the pagan Europeans and survived their conversion to Christianity.” It was done in various rites and customs, including “the custom . . . of placing a Yuletree at an entrance or inside the house during the midwinter holidays.” Too, the early Romans marked the winter solstice with a feast called the Saturn…

4 "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” (Revelation 21:4) “Death will be no more.” (Revelation 21:4) What has caused more unwanted tears than the enemy death? Jehovah will release obedient humans from the grip of death. How? By eliminating the real cause of death: sin inherited from Adam. (Romans 5:12) Jehovah will lift obedient humans to perfection on the basis of Jesus’ ransom sacrifice.* Then the last enemy, death, will be “brought to nothing.” (1 Corinthians 15:26) Faithful humans will be able to live as God p…

"We had the privilege to be at the dedication of the branch of Kyrgystan". 134 delegates from 25 differents countries. It has been historical for the brothers and sisters. We had the privilege to participate in the construction last year as international volunteers. So it has been so special to see our friends again and see the result of the hard work been done there. GB. Brother Stephen Lett was also there for that event ;-) Of course a nice, funny time !

In no way are we giving any cause for stumbling, so that no fault may be found with our ministry.—2 Cor. 6:3. http://wol.jw.org/es/wol/dtsync/r4/lp-s/r1/lp-e/2016/12/4 In today’s crime-filled world, many householders are suspicious of strangers. (2 Tim. 3:1-5) We should avoid adding to such suspicion. For example, suppose we approach a house and knock on the front door. If no one answers, we could be tempted to look through the window or walk around the property, searching for the householder. In your area, would that most likely disturb the householder? What might his neighbors think? True, we should be thorough in our preaching work. (Acts 10:42) We are eager …

Hold on to Jehovah's Promises and never let go. 25 "But he said to them: “The kings of the nations lord it over them, and those having authority over them are called Benefactors. 26 You, though, are not to be that way. But let the one who is the greatest among you become as the youngest and the one taking the lead as the one ministering." (Luke 22:25,26)
