This Kingdom Hall was taken out of commission only two months ago and replaced with a beautiful “containers” Kingdom Hall. The new style Kingdom Hall is “portable” if needed. The LDC explained that there are still hundreds of Kingdom Halls needing replaced and that better usage of Kingdom Halls in other lands allows funds to be used to purchase these new Kingdom Halls. Fully furnished and equipped the new style costs up to USD 18,000. Beautiful!!! By steentime

We have published the text of his last words before the verdict. https://jw-russia.org/en/news/19100917-1207.html

So as I am sure there are plenty of you folks here that adhere and read the wt and "awake". Have any of you who have read these considered the wt Oct study edition this year? In particular this little quote: "KEEP TRYING TO MAKE DISCIPLES 14. According to Jesus’ instructions recorded at Matthew 28:19, 20, what do we try our best to do, and why? 14 Read Matthew 28:19, 20. As we conduct Bible studies, we have to try our best to “make disciples . . . , teaching them to observe all the things [Jesus has] commanded.” We need to help people understand how important it is for them to take their stand for Jehovah and his Kingdom. This means trying to motivate…

Snooze over Spirit : (Hebrews 10:24-25) by Tie Bros Illustrations

Imagine if a Christian in the first century planned to gather with their brothers and sisters that day on Pentecost 33 C.E. but decided last minute not to go because they were a bit tired. On that day, the group that gathered was unexpectedly filled with Holy Spirit and they began to speak other languages. No doubt, if someone planned to be there but decided to miss it for something trivial, they would have regretted not being there for that momentous occasion. (Acts 2:1-6) Today’s text reminds us that our meetings are also very important. If we develop a habit of skipping meetings for minor reasons, we very well could be missing out on something important that we need. I…

BAD TENANTS

BAD TENANTS You are the owner of an apartment block with tenants. Some are bad tenants, and some are good. If the bad ones start to destroy the block, what would you do, burn down the whole block? Would you be that drastic? Wouldn't be better just to get rid of the bad tenants? Similarly, God doesn’t need to burn down the whole planet in Armageddon. He only needs to do away with the bad tenants.

At the end of September 2019, a court in the Primorsky Territory decided to release two believers from the pre-trial detention center. Sergey Sergeyev and Yuriy Belosludtsev from Luchegorsk were placed under house arrest. However, cases for faith against them continue to be investigated. https://jw-russia.org/en/news/19100720-1198.html

Saw an IG story from a former friend of mine: “Jehovah’s blessing on your marital arrangement!” How culty does that sound?! Cringe x 100 Yeah, they can't just say "marriage" because that'd make them sound, erm, normal. I think it is to subtly highlight (manipulate) that the marriage is an "arrangement" or contract by the JW's and "Jehovah" - rather than a "marriage" between two people. "Marriage" makes it sound like it is their own personal and private bond that doesn't necessarily involve the JWs or "Jehovah".

Why would you continue false information and hate to continue? Didn't you say you are a witness? The problem is, California usually sets a legal precedent for other states to follow. If anything, you should blame people like JTR, witness, Shiwiii, Srecko, etc. for having the government to rethink how much freedom of speech has, especially when it threatens the lives of people by hate speech. What should be advocated is the censorship of such people in websites. Since Webmasters aren't willing, then it's up to the government to take control. Then again, you should know being a webmaster.

SEOUL, Oct. 2 (Yonhap) -- A UN investigator on freedom of speech and expression on Wednesday highlighted the need for an alternative military service that is not punitive but can be beneficial to both objectors and Korean society. Speaking at a public session on alternative service for conscientious objectors at the National Assembly, David Kaye, UN special rapporteur for freedom of expression, said alternative service "should not be of punitive nature" and "the length of the service should be the same as military service." _____________________________________________________________________________ Since the 1950s, around 19,000 conscientious objectors, m…

Is the "Faithful and Discreet Slave" now going to be renamed "Faithful and Prudent Slave" since Discreet sounds like they have been hiding secret child molestation documents away from the authorities and it doesn't sound good in front of the courts? I know they are prudent now in their new Spanish translation.

The locusts of Joel Chapter 2 no longer refer to Jehovah's Witnesses and events surrounding 1919. The locusts in Revelation chapter 22 however still do refer to the anointed, but are now no longer connected with the prophecy on Joel. Joel 2 now refers to the "Babylonians", the coalition of nations that will try to destroy God's people. The context of Joel chapter 2 points the time period of fulfillment to Jehovah's Day in the Great Tribulation and how God will save his people.

As we're approaching to our Annual meeting, here it goes my list of wishes! Perhaps there is a chance some of them could be announced: KNOW THE REASON FOR UPDATES IN PUBLICATIONS When a new update is available in JW Library, I download it without knowing the reasons for it: we do not know if it is a small editing error, a significant improvement in translation, a more serious adjustment ... Anyway, I would love be informed of the reasons, especially when sometimes the Bible itself is updated. Perhaps I have used outdated information inadvertently and it would be nice to know that there has been an improvement! WATCHTOWER WITH APPENDIX Our study articles are …

Today's 'lesson' was another classic example of WT giving 2 contrary instructions for JWs to follow. On one hand they are to keep focused on the future and God's promises. On the other hand they mustn't get too caught up because "expectation postponed can make the heart sick", then go on to show OLD, DEAD, and DYING JWs who have been waiting for the end to come forever. So yeah, focus on the paradise fairy-tale, run with endurance, but don't keep focused on the past to avoid "expectation making the heart sick"? That's literally telling them to develop selective memories of the past. It's like a conman telling a 20 year old that he will give them $…

Early copies of Zion's Watch Tower and Herald of Christ's Presence made reference to the Bible as God's "infallible Word".[71] (this has slightly changed in 2015) God's name is Jehovah. Watch Tower Society founder Charles Taze Russell used the name "Jehovah" occasionally, but not consistently, when referring to God.[72] Jesus Christ gave his human life as a ransom sacrifice; belief in Jesus necessary for salvatio…

JW Kenya:In Kenya, Chinese arrivals are targeted by Jehovah’s Witnesses speaking Chinese

Earlier this year, An, a young Chinese professional living in Nairobi, heard a knock at the door. She was expecting no one. She had moved in a couple of months earlier, and none of her friends would visit unannounced. She had been warned about the Kenyan capital’s high crime rate, but, curious, she peered through the peephole and beheld, with relief and confusion, two smiling women – one East Asian, one white. The visitors introduced themselves as Jehovah’s Witnesses, telling her in Mandarin that they had heard there was a new Chinese person in the building. An remembers reacting with suspicion, asking how they came to know that, since hers was not a building or nei…

How The Jehovah’s Witnesses Are Better Christians Than The Rest Of Us - Religion - Nairaland

Taking Nigeria as a case study, if you are not a Jehovah’s Witness, you must have heard from some pastors or some other Christians like you about how the Jehovah’s Witnesses teach the wrong gospel. You must have heard them say that they use the wrong Bible. They must have told you to kick them out of your house or never let them in. They might have even told you that listening to them could lead you to Hell Fire. My view about them changed when I related with one of them during an external tutorial class. There was a single guy among the rest in a mixed class of Christians and Muslims. This guy was the only Jehovah’s Witness. We all had a lot of fun bullying him. We ma…

The jailing of six Jehovah's Witnesses in Saratov for up to three and a half years "equates peaceful believers with dangerous criminals", Jehovah's Witnesses complain. The Prosecutor's Office did not respond as to why it considered these men dangerous and should be jailed. A Khabarovsk court sentenced another man to assigned labour for discussing Jesus' Sermon on the Mount. Six men in Saratov have become the first Russian citizens to receive custodial sentences after the Supreme Court's 2017 ban on all Jehovah's Witness activity. Konstantin Bazhenov, Aleksey Budenchuk, Feliks Makhammadiyev, Roman Gridasov, Gennady German, and Aleksey Miretsky were jailed on 19 Septem…

Most Witnesses are quite satisfied with a midweek meeting, a weekend meeting, and meetings for service, a study night with the spouse or family, and some additional time for talk preparation, additional personal study, prayer, meditation and contemplation. For many, due to various circumstances, it's hard enough to keep up even a minimum in each area mentioned. But for others, it's obvious that they (we) spend quite a bit of time on this forum, too. And for some, I'm guessing, they spend some time here, and even seek out other places, too, where Witnesses talk or are talked about. It's pretty obvious that when it comes to how we spend our free time, there are much mo…

ChinaAid reports that 18 individuals have been indicted in Xinjiang, 17 for “using an evil religion organization” to “incite the obstruction of law enforcement,” and one of them for “obstructing law enforcement by organizing and using an evil religious organization.” ChinaAid also provides the names of all these indicted and further details. The formulae mentioned by ChinaAid correspond to Art. 300 of the Chinese Criminal Code, which establishes jail penalties of three to seven years “or more” for “using a xie jiao” (sometimes translated as “evil cult” and in ChinaAid article as “evil religious organization,” while scholars point out that “heterodox teachings” would…

Believing false information 1 2 3

Believing false information can have serious consequences. This is what happened in Moses' day, when 10 of the 12 spies who had explored the Promised Land made a negative and exaggerated report ( Numbers 13: 25-33 ). The Israelites believed him and were utterly discouraged ( Numbers 14: 1-4 ). They may have said that, since most spies said the same thing, it must be true. They did not want to listen to the positive report presented by Joshua and Caleb, trustworthy men ( Numbers 14: 6-10 ). Instead of looking for facts and having faith in Jehovah, they chose to believe the negative report. What a stupid reaction! A soldier who is not loyal to his leader will not be a…

JW Canada: New home under construction for Jehovah's Witnesses

Flin Flon’s Jehovah’s Witnesses will soon have a new building to call their own. Construction on the congregation’s new Kingdom Hall is underway. The former Kingdom Hall was demolished earlier this summer, with the new hall being built on the site of the former church. According to statistics supplied by Jehovah’s Witnesses Canada, about 85 Jehovah’s Witnesses live in Flin Flon, with around 100 people coming to each of the group’s biweekly meetings. “We needed a new hall because the congregation has outgrown the old hall,” said congregation elder Kelly Flodell in a press release. Wt. 11/7/15 - “HOW DO FALSE TEACHERS OPERATE? THEIR METHODS REVEAL A CUNNING SPIRIT. APOSTATES “QUIETLY BRING IN” CORRUPTIVE IDEAS. LIKE SMUGGLERS, THEY OPERATE IN A CLANDESTINE MANNER, SUBTLY INTRODUCING APOSTATE VIEWS”. It begins benignly, truthfully, like this: Wt. 1882, pgs 71-71 – “BEWARE OF ‘ORGANIZATION’. It is wholly unnecessary. The Bible rules will be the only rules you will need. DO NOT SEEK TO BIND OTHERS’ CONSCIENCES, AND DO NOT PERMIT OTHERS TO BIND YOURS. Believe and obey so far as you can understand God’s Word today, and so continue growing in grace and knowledge and love day by day”. And escalates into this: Wt. 11/15/81 “Make haste to…
