"The great day of Jehovah is near! It is near and it is approaching very quickly! The sound of the day of Jehovah is bitter. There a warrior cries out... A day of storm and desolation." (Zeph. 1:14,15.). “Take Refuge in the Name of Jehovah” “I shall certainly let remain . . . a people humble and lowly, and they will actually take refuge in the name of Jehovah.”—ZEPH. 3:12. A different type of storm is approaching—one that threatens the very existence of the human race. It is a figurative “day of storm.” This “great day of Jehovah” will affect all mankind. “Everyone who calls on the name of Jehovah will be saved.” (Rom. 10:13) Physical salvation is promised fo…

Do You Appreciate Jehovah’s Watchful Care? The eyes of Jehovah are everywhere, watching both the bad and the good.—Prov. 15:3. http://wol.jw.org/en/wol/dt/r1/lp-e/2016/11/19 Today, electronic eyes are everywhere. Should the widespread use of surveillance cameras in any way remind us of our loving Father, Jehovah? The Bible does say that his eyes “are everywhere.” But does this mean that he is constantly scrutinizing what we are doing? Does God watch over us merely to enforce his laws, with punishment in mind? (Jer. 16:17; Heb. 4:13) Not at all! Jehovah observes us primarily because he loves each one of us and is interested in our welfare. (1 Pet. 3:12)…

A man accused of 19 sex and violence charges against his travelling companion has given evidence that the couple had “a normal, consensual” sexual relationship. The trial of the 45-year-old man has been going for seven days, and after the Crown finished presentation of its case involving evidence from 21 witnesses, the defence has begun its case. Crown is alleging that the man raped a woman five times, tied her up, sexually violated her with a knife and saw handle, and assaulted her nine times. The woman – a visitor to New Zealand – spent days giving evidence about repeated incidents with the man as they travelled around the country, sometimes freedom campi…

I was born in one of the central eastern provinces. Cuba was recognized by many as the beautiful pearl of the Caribbean from the very first day of its discovery by Christopher Columbus, who expressed that this was the most beautiful land ever seen by human eyes. I was born in nineteen hundred and fifty-eight, one year before the triumph of the revolution. My parents were religious, they educated me in accordance with their principles. My father and my older brother were detained on various occasions, and completed sentences of deprivation of liberty; my brother on three occasions and my father on two. Mistreated and abused as you might imagine. I was the fourth son …

I do not know you.—Matt. 25:12. http://wol.jw.org/en/wol/dt/r1/lp-e/2016/11/18 In the parable of the ten virgins, was Jesus saying that many of his anointed servants would prove unfaithful and need to be replaced? (Matt. 25:1-13) No. Remember, he had just warned his “faithful and discreet slave” never to turn into an evil slave. (Matt. 24:45-51) That did not mean that he expected such an outcome. Similarly, this parable conveys a powerful warning. Just as five virgins were foolish and five were discreet, each anointed one has the full capacity to choose either a course of preparedness and vigilance or a course of folly and unfaithfulness. The apostle Paul was in…

Man lied about having sick grandson to con woman out of cash
by Guest Nicole- 0 replies

A man used a fake name and lied about having a sick grandson in hospital to con a woman out of £1,000. Ian Leak, 54, also pretended to be his own son to dishonestly obtain £350 from another woman so that he could get cash to buy a new fridge-freezer. Leak, of Park Avenue in Louth, was handed a suspended prison sentence after magistrates said he abused the women's "kindness and generosity". Dan Pietrykas, prosecuting, said Leak, who has multiple sclerosis, became friends through the Jehovah's Witnesses with a woman who passed two amounts of £500 to him between October and November last year. He had told her his name was 'Tim Leak' and he had to go and s…

I think we are. What stood out to me the most was this, I quote him: “So who and where, then, are the true Christians today? Obviously the same as in every century from the time of Christ, namely, people who have accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord, Redeemer, and Teacher, and who may be found in any kind of Christian fellowship that proves to be of help in their endevour to lead a Christian life”. This is not a scriptural teaching. It is merely his opinion. The scriptures indicate quite clearly that there will be a united group in the last days, they do not teach that true Christians will be scattered amongst various Christian denominations. That in itself is a…

KALININGRAD COURTS CONFIRM THAT DISSEMINATION OF ONE'S RELIGIOUS VIEWS CANNOT BE CONSIDERED EVANGELISM SOVA Center for News and Analysis, 16 November 2016 It was reported on 15 November 2016 that in Kaliningrad four administrative cases that had been opened because of "illegal evangelism" by Jehovah's Witnesses were closed for lack of evidence of a crime. The cases were reviewed in a district court of Kaliningrad and two magistrate's courts on 14 October, 9 November, 11 November, and 15 November. In all cases the court ruled that "the law 'On freedom of conscience' does not contain a prohibition of disseminating personal religious experience and communic…

12 The Governing Body is neither inspired nor perfect. It can make mistakes when explaining the Bible or directing the organization. https://www.jw.org/en/publications/magazines/watchtower-simplified-february-2017/who-is-leading-gods-people-today/ If this is the case then why must a JW adhere to the doctrines they say? Why is it that a JW cannot believe differently from what the gb says without the fear of being disfellowshipped or shunned? We know they either were wrong or are wrong on the topic/doctrine of blood. Nowhere in the Bible does it separate blood into fractions, but yet the gb says that this part is ok and this part is not. At one time blood …

A LITTLE HUMOR..... Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump go into a bakery shop. As soon as they enter the bakery, Trump steals three pastries and puts them in his pocket. He says to Hillary: “See how clever I am? The owner didn’t even see anything, and I don’t even need to lie. I will definitely win the election.” Hillary says to Donald: “That’s the typical dishonesty you have displayed throughout your entire life, trickery and deceit. I am going to show you an honest way to get the same 3 pastries without stealing or lying, and also prove that I am much clever than you!” Hillary goes to the owner of the bakery and says: “Give me a pastry and I will show you a magic…

Be courageous and strong of heart. Yes, hope in Jehovah.—Ps. 27:14. http://wol.jw.org/en/wol/dt/r1/lp-e/2016/11/17 We get courage by trusting in God and following the steps of his Son. (Ps. 28:7) During his ministry, Jesus showed courage in various ways. He boldly exposed the religious leaders for misleading the people with false teachings. (Matt. 23:13-36) He stood firm against the world’s contaminating influence. (John 16:33) He continued to preach despite pressure from opposers. (John 5:15-18; 7:14) Twice, he fearlessly cleansed the temple, driving out those who were defiling the worship there. (Matt. 21:12, 13; John 2:14-17) In the garden of Gethsemane, Jesu…
