THE LITTLE BLIND GIRL.... A blind little girl sat on the steps of a building with a hat by her feet, and a doll in her hands. She held up a sign which say: "I am blind, please help." There were only a few coins in the hat. A man was walking by. He took a few coins from his pocket and dropped them into the hat. He then took the sign, turned it around, and wrote some words. Soon, the hat began to fill up. A lot more people were giving money to the blind girl. That afternoon the man who had changed the sign came to see how things were. The girl recognised his footsteps and asked, "Were you the one who changed my sign this morning? What did y…

More than 4,000 believers converge for two-day assembly in the city ALBANY — For the past two decades, and twice a year, Jehovah’s Witnesses from across Georgia and the panhandle of Florida have gathered at the Albany Civic Center for circuit assemblies meant to foster fellowship and to bring them closer to God. They come from hundreds of ethnic and language backgrounds, yet are united by common goals. Above all, they want to honor Jehovah, whom believers call the God of the Bible and the Creator of all things. This past weekend, more than 4,000 witnesses from two different circuits flowed into Albany for a two-day assembly. On Saturday, the Florida D…

A MUSLIM AND A JEHOVAH’S WITNESS WALK INTO A SCHOOL

SEPTEMBER 26, 2016 My kids’ best friends and their mom, one of my best mom friends, are Jehovah’s Witnesses. There are a lot of things I love about that. At my kids’ preschool, parents often talked over the unexpected challenges of parenting. I quickly found that I could relate best to Melinda (not her real name), who saw moral guidance as a critical aspect of parenting. She was comfortable with references to faith, humility, surrender—concepts I often feel that I need to edit from casual discussion. It turns out Melinda had, and continues to have, a lot to teach me, both as a human being and also as a largely misunderstood and marginalized religious minorit…

What one of the Supreme Court’s most humiliating mistakes tells us about the debate over Colin Kaepernick’s national-anthem protest. “We almost beat one guy to death to make him kiss the flag,” a patriot in Litchfield, Illinois, told a Chicago reporter in 1940. When that vigilante beat a dissenter in the street—and when hundreds like him brutalized, terrorized, and even mutilated Jehovah’s Witnesses around the country —they were acting, they believed, with the imprimatur of the law, the Constitution, and the Supreme Court, which had ruled that the Witnesses’ religious objection to reciting the Pledge of Allegiance was invalid. LATE The Court and the na…

Please visit Links Below!!! Extent of involvement with spiritist Johannes Greber? Meet the Fantastically Bejeweled Skeletons of Catholicism’s Forgotten Martyrs. In answer to the question (320), “Has the Catholic Church ever been in communication with spirit beings from the next world?” he says: “In the history of the Catholic Church there are many accounts of messages received from the souls of the departed. The truth of these accounts is subject to the ordinary laws of historical criticism, and some accounts have certainly been proved doubtful. Others leave no room for prudent doubt. As a rule, God permits a soul only occasionally to communicate momen…

REGIONAL DEPUTIES ASK FOR BANNING OF JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES by Ivan Snegov Parlamentskaya Gazeta, 20 September 2016 The Sakhalin provincial duma supported the appeal of the Arkhangelsk provincial assembly of deputies to the prosecutor general's office and the Ministry of Justice for the prohibition of the international religious organization of Jehovah's Witnesses in Russia. The Sakhalin deputies supported the appeal of colleagues that the "number of Witnesses is growing at threatening rates and their missionary activity resembles extremism, if one judges by news media and court decisions." This quotation contradicts another fact: the deputies appealed to…

Fargo, ND (WDAY-TV) A stolen vehicle has caused lots of damage in the South Fargo area. Tara Kohn says she and her husband were doing fence repair at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses when they realized their blue pickup truck had been stolen. They called 911 immediately. A witness on 23rd Street in South Fargo says he saw the truck run a stop sign, swerve off the road, hit an electrical box, and then hit a parked car on the street. He says the car then fled. Police found the pickup at 1519 36 ½ Avenue South in Fargo, in an un-drivable condition. The person who stole the vehicle fled on foot, and Kohn says police told her they were searchin…

We build and operate branch offices and printeries around the world. Tens of thousands of congregations meet in modest yet attractive places of worship called Kingdom Halls. Who pays for all of this? Our work is supported entirely by voluntary donations. (2 Corinthians 9:7)

Imprisoned for their faith: These three men have been jailed in Eritrea for over 22 years

Just teenagers at the time, all three are Jehovah's Witnesses, and they refuse to compromise their integrity. On September 24, 1994, three young men, all teenagers, were rounded up and sent to a concentration camp. Their crime? They refused military service on the grounds of their strongly held religious convictions – an entitlement that ironically, one year later, the United Nations Commission on Human Rights reinforced as an acceptable concession that all world nations should adhere to. Nevertheless, down to this very day, Paulos Eyassu, Negede Teklemariam and Isaac Mogos – all Jehovah’s Witnesses – remain jailed in the Sawa prison camp in the country of …

Much has changed as doctors have come to understand the risks of blood transfusions and the ways to avoid them — helped in part by studies of Jehovah's Witnesses. Michael Anderson, a Jehovah’s Witness minister who underwent a bloodless emergency bypass procedure after a heart attack earlier this month, was visited in his hospital room by Syl Jones, a fellow Jehovah’s Witness and an administrative resident/fellow at Hennepin County Medical Center. Dr. Daniel DiBardino didn’t have much time for niceties on Sept. 8 as he consulted patient Michael Anderson about the emergency cardiac bypass he needed. Anderson is a Jehovah’s Witness — opposed to donor blood tr…
