I will change the language of the peoples to a pure language, so that all of them may call on the name of Jehovah, to serve him shoulder to shoulder.—Zeph. 3:9. http://wol.jw.org/en/wol/dt/r1/lp-e/2016/9/3 Jehovah undeniably blesses the preaching work of Christian women and supports them in times of trial. With his help, for example, godly women maintained their integrity under Nazi and Communist rule when many of them suffered and some even lost their lives because of their obedience to God. (Acts 5:29) Today as in the past, our sisters and all their fellow worshippers uphold God’s sovereignty. In effect, as in the case of the ancient Israelites, Jehovah grasps…

I understand your answer perfectly, John, and it confirms what I posted, that according to the WTS there were less than 144,000 Christians in nearly 1900 years. As the reader J.A. from the Dominican Republic pointed out when he wrote to the Society about it, being one of the 144,000 was the only position open to Christians during all that time. [wt 1/15/1952 QFR] Questions From Readers● According to the article “Hated for His Name” in the September 1, 1951, Watchtower, hundreds of thousands of Christians died in the “ten persecutions” starting in Nero’s time, 144,000 dying in Egypt alone during one of the persecutions. How can this be harmonized with the Scriptural …

From the Mercury, Tasmania, Australia A 51-YEAR-OLD Jehovah’s Witness man introduced to hard drugs by fellow Alcoholics Anonymous attendees has pleaded guilty to administering crystal methamphetamine to a child. The Supreme Court heard that Glenn John Austen, formerly of New Town, befriended the complainant, who was then 16 years old, in Hobart’s Franklin Square last year. Crown Prosecutor Yolanda Prence said that on February 11 this year, the complainant was consuming alcohol and smoking cannabis at Austen’s residence when she told him she needed “a whack” of crystal methamphetamine, or ice. Austen left the unit, returning a short time later with a sa…

Let everyone calling on the name of Jehovah renounce unrighteousness.—2 Tim. 2:19. http://wol.jw.org/en/wol/dt/r1/lp-e/2016/9/2 No text in the Hebrew Scriptures matches Paul’s quote. So, what was the apostle referring to when he said the above? Immediately preceding this statement, Paul quoted from Numbers chapter 16, which relates the account of Korah’s rebellion. The Bible says that Dathan and Abiram, sons of Eliab, joined Korah as leaders of the rebellion against Moses and Aaron. (Num. 16:1-5) The account reads: “Jehovah then said to Moses: ‘Speak to the assembly and tell them, “Get away from around the tents of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram!”’” Jehovah then put …

Ok, you are obviously stuck on Russell.... in the 1800 's - which is crazy because JWs have moved on since 1919 - Russell had many things right - the mortality of the soul, Jehovah's name just to name only 2. He was not the only one who understood these things to be so. It is true that he attended other groups which existed in this time when he started to study the bible - because there was a general awakening to study the Bible among the populace.... but he was the one that wanted to publish all he knew and used all his resources to do so. He was also the one who received all the hateful publicity from the religious leaders. So it seems you are determined to igno…

This was a brief speculation made on another forum, but got me thinking about why it must be so. In all pictures of Christ when dying, he is depicted in the Watchtower magazines without the crown of thorns. I believe I have not run across this in any other such drawn description of the time of Jesus' dying and death. There appears to be no scriptural reason behind its removal. What is the reason?

Devon and Cornwall Police have said a leaflet posted through doors in North Devon isn't a crime – despite it advising gay people to "control their urges". The leaflet, entitled "How to Harness Your Habits", was distributed in North Devon by Jehovah's Witnesses and contains an article asking "What does the Bible say about homosexuality?" In it, the religious group states that "rejecting homosexuality" is completely different to "rejecting people of a different skin colour" and says their views are the same as people who "view smoking as harmful and even repugnant". It also compares gay people to animals, but says "unlike animals, they can choose not to…

Tithing Abolished at The Torture Stake

Before Christ, God required sacrifices to be made at the temple in order for men to attain forgiveness of their sins. In order to make this law / process successful, God commanded the Levites to staff the temples. The Levites were the only tribe of Israel who did not have an inheritance of land to farm. In consideration for Levites duty at the temple, the other tribes of Israel were commanded to pay TITHES at the temple TO SUPPORT THE LEVITES. When Christ died on the torture stake, by means of his shed blood the law / process of offering animal sacrifices became obsolete. This meant that the Levites were no longer required to serve in the temples. It also mean…

Dear Arauna, It is through Jesus that God forgives all our sins. I pray you read Psalm 103, especially verse 12: As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us. Our love for Jesus and His love for us compels us to walk in his footsteps. We aren't saved by our own merit, but by the righteousness of Jesus.

You must love Jehovah your God.—Matt. 22:37. http://wol.jw.org/en/wol/dt/r1/lp-e/2016/9/1 If you have a loving relationship with Jehovah, you will be a ‘doer of the word, not a hearer only.’ (Jas. 1:22-25) A “doer” has faith that produces such works as zealous preaching activity and participation in Christian meetings. Because you really love God, you will obey Jehovah’s “perfect law,” which covers everything he requires of you. (Ps. 19:7-11) Love for Jehovah God will cause you to turn to him often in heartfelt prayer. Evidently alluding to the daily burning of incense under the Law covenant, the psalmist David sang: “May my prayer be as incense prepared before …
