Shouldn't they be more spread out than that? (I'm sure they have people from other nations claiming to be anointed from other countries but the vast majority, at least the ones who get the most attention, are from the US).

One of the reasons The New World Translation is not called The Bible was because the word Bible is not found in the holy scriptures but I can not find anything online.... The Portuguese (And Spanish) one is now “Biblia Sagrada” whereas the older edition (pre-silver sword) is “Escrituras Sagradas.” I’m wondering what their justification for the change is too. I remember vividly when they were giving all the pros about the new silver sword Aka NWT and the brother said " the reason we call them NWT instead of The Bible is because no where in the holy scriptures the word Bible is present" so I thought that was a good point... But now that I am seeing the new NWT on …

THE FIRST SURGEON
by Guest- 0 replies
THE FIRST SURGEON A brother overcame an objection against Jehovah's Witnesses for not accepting blood using the following line of reasoning: 'May I ask if you know who the first surgeon was?' The householder mentioned several names but didn't get the answer. The brother said the first surgeon performed surgery with no blood. He made a man fall into a deep sleep; you call it anesthesia. He opened the flesh and removed a rib; you call it invasive operation. He then proceeded to close the opened flesh; you call it stitches. His name is Jehovah. He performed the first surgery with no blood. By the way, he also designed the human body. As Christians, we follow his way of …

IT IS JUST THE BEGINNING
by Guest- 0 replies

IT IS JUST THE BEGINNING In many lands, a wedding ceremony marks the end of a period of planning and preparation (and usually of courtship). At the same time, it marks the beginning of a life together as a married couple. Similarly, your baptism is the culmination of a period of preparation during which you took a number of important preliminary steps. You gained knowledge of God and Christ. You began to exercise faith in Jehovah as the true God, in Christ as your Savior, and in the Bible as God's Word. You demonstrated that faith by repenting of your former course of action and converting to a righteous course. You then decided to dedicate yourself to Jehovah to do …

Watchtower Society attacks jw.help The Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of Pennsylvania has blocked our YouTube channel and our Instagram account for alleged trademark infringement. It is to be feared that further Internet appearances will be affected. We strongly disagree with this alleged trademark infringement. The brand jw.help is protected in Germany. Therefore, we will take legal action to defend jw.help. On the one hand, we are pleased that our work is even registered as far as the USA, as we mostly turn to a German audience. On the other hand, this approach also shows how Jehovah's Witnesses are trying by all means to eliminate critics and enligh…

KARL WALLENDA

KARL WALLENDA The amazing Karl Wallenda was an experienced and famous high-wire performer. He performed dangerous stunts on the tightrope, many times without any safety net. The day came, though, when in spite of many decades of experience, Wallenda lost his balance and fell to his death. He was 73 years old. Lesson? Even the most skilled and seasoned Christians could lose balance and suffer a spiritual fall.—1 Cor. 10:12

INSTIGATOR ?

INSTIGATOR ? If a generous friend invites you to a banquet full of delicacies, but sets one restriction: do not eat the adornment at the center of the table. Looks like real fruit but it's harmful to humans. Would you say the host is tempting or instigating you to harm? No! On the contrary, he warned you about the danger. Moreover, as the master of the house, he can decorate his home and dinner table however he wants. Similarly, Jehovah God was generous and kind when he warned Adam and Eve of the dangers of eating the fruit of the tree that belongs to him and only to him. By no means did God instigate them to sin.

SELLER

SELLER Imagine a bald man who sells hair products. He sells a shampoo supposed to cure baldness in a few days. Is it not true that we would wonder why it did not work on his head? The same thing happens with Satan. He tries to sell us his world as a secret of happiness and true freedom. But would you say that Satan himself is happy? How is it that the Bible says that he has great anger, like a roaring lion, and that he is the accuser of our brethren? (Rev. 12:10, 12; 1 Peter 5: 😎 How is it that we can see a clear re…

Several posts from some recent topics have veered into a discussion of 1975 (yet again). My personal concern about the topic is that, like others have just mentioned, I have also been seeing a lack of honesty about it from both JWs and ex-JWs/non-JWs. We shouldn't be as concerned about what others on the outside say, but perhaps we need to take another look at the accuracy of statements that we make ourselves, in our own defense. To start, I would say that I agree that no Watchtower article or Watchtower publication ever said that the world was going to end in 1975. But when we try to convince people today about what was really said back then, what is our purpos…

On Thursday someone posted a video of the new IKEA catalogue, the video was made by a JW and sent to an ExJW. They were really happy about Ikea using the ’My Book Of Bible Stories’ in their Swedish paper catalogue. So a few of us took to Twitter to Tweet IKEA about why we had a problem with this. I then emailed them an in-depth email with Watchtower links to the Child Sex Abuse and Domestic Violence articles. IKEA were very quick to respond to my email and have changed the book in the 5 catalogues I’ve seen online so far. I’m impressed by how they acted on this. Due to JwOrg having corrupt and harmful policies i thought it was necessary IKEA knows about it. I will add…

Let it Go: In this illustration a stone was left in the middle of a walking path. By: tie_bros_illustrations

Perhaps it was done by mistake. If so, what good would it do for the person who tripped over it to hold on to it? That person would only be weighing themself down, while the person who made the mistake lives on, blissfully unaware of the pain they accidentally caused. Perhaps it was done intentionally. Still, what good would it do for the person who tripped over it to hold on to it? If anything, holding on to it can lead that person to seek revenge and use the stone to beat the person who stumbled them. How much better it is to let go of resentment and move on. Easy? No. Worth it? Read Matthew 18:4-5 and Watchtower 1972 12/1 p.707-708.

MILWAUKEE — Milwaukee police are trying to find the man who left a backpack near a church early Friday morning, prompting a bomb scare. Someone reviewing surveillance footage at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses on Forest Home Ave. spotted a man around 2 a.m. They said the video shows the man setting the backpack down and walking away. Church officials then called Milwaukee police, who sent officers and a hazardous materials team to investigate. They closed Forest Home near the church while they investigated. Police said the backpack had cans of spray paint inside but did not pose a threat to anyone. They are now trying to find the…

William Henry Conley. Co-owner of the Riter Conley company that provided steel and manufactured goods during the second industrial revolution. The first president of “Zions Watchtower” which would later be replaced with Charles Taze Russell. Conley eventually didn’t want to be associated with Russell, he didn’t agree with his pyramid theories and thought his 1874 prediction of Armageddon was ludicrous. So he disassociated himself to care for his wife whom he felt was more important than Russell’s cult following at the time. Russell went on to use Conley's $11 million today equivalent to fund his exhibition, and then Conley went on to believe the organization only wanted h…

EXTRACT] Review of Current Records: After discussing this letter as a body of elders, we would like the secretary along with the coordinator, or another assigned elder, to review what is currently in the congregation’s confidential file. They should examine the contents of all sealed envelopes in the file to confirm that they contain only the documents mentioned in the Shepherd book, chapter 22, paragraphs 22-23. The assigned elders should adhere to the direction in paragraph 26 when determining if the entire contents of the envelope should be destroyed. If the elders are not sure if a particular document needs to be retained, they should feel free to contact the Se…
