Armageddon

Armageddon WHY CAN’T WE KNOW WHEN? Imagine you are rich. Would you like your spouse to love you only for your money? No! We like to be appreciated genuinely by who we are, not by what we have. In the same vein, if Jehovah announces the date of Armageddon many will serve him out of selfish interest and not because they genuinely love Him. They’ll just want to save their skin and obtain selfish profit. But by not disclosing the date He gives us the chance …

CITIZENSHIP
by Guest- 0 replies

CITIZENSHIP Just like when a foreign resident is granted citizenship, becomes naturalized and gets a passport making his naturalization official, the anointed have received a diplomatic passport, sort to speak, confirming they are not only citizens but also co-rulers in the Kingdom. (Phil. 3:20) In case an impostor tries to sneak in through the customs of a country without a valid visa or passport, he will be detained and may be prosecuted. The same if someone claims to be anointed without having received the heavenly citizenship.

” — Daniel 7:10. THE HURRICANE

THE HURRICANE A hurricane is coming. The sky has not turned dark yet, but the weather service announces it is imminent. It is going to be a big one. When you take a look at your neighborhood, some of your neighbors are working hard securing their property, installing storm shutters, putting away junk that may turn into projectiles, and so on. Other neighbors, though, are having the ultimate outdoors BBQ experience, partying with family and friends in spite of the storm warning. When you look at their homes, ther…

ROD OF MOSES

ROD OF MOSES Exodus 4:2: In that verse, God asked Moses: “What is that in your hand?” Moses’ answer was: “A rod.” Jehovah used that rod as a symbol of the authority and the commission he gave to Moses. (Exodus 4:5) Moses did well when he used his authority for God’s glory, but he displeased God when he used it to glorify himself and to berate his brothers. (Numbers 20:9-13) This account illustrates how God’s servants should make wise use of the authority or gifts God provides. We should not use them to assert authority over others, but, rather, to bring praise and …

CONFUCIUS

CONFUCIUS Chinese teacher Confucius once said: "What you do not want to be done to you, do not do to others." Many still believe a person has done his moral duty simply by refraining from doing any harm to others. Although this Confucian code of conduct has its merits, the Bible goes a step further by addressing a more profound dimension of human behavior and interaction. Rather than just instructing Christians not to do bad to others, Jesus Christ took it to the next level teaching that all things t…

Go, therefore, and make disciples of people of all the nations,+ baptizing them+ in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, - Mat 28:19 nwt WT Society have changed few times, in last 140 years, baptismal questions. Also they stopped to respect, obey Jesus command quoted above. At some moment (perhaps about 1970's , please correct this guessing if it is wrong) JW person who immersing new member into water doing that silently. They do not repeat this Jesus words while baptizing "disciples". What do you think about this? Whether the absence of spoken words (in the name of ....) is the reason why such baptism would be considered invalid…

SEEING IS BELIEVING

SEEING IS BELIEVING Widespread expression, but this kind of thinking is actually quite short-sighted. Why is that? There are so many things that we cannot see and yet our lives revolve around them. For instance, we don’t see the air but it fills our lungs and it caresses our skin. We don’t see odors, but our nose picks them up. Nor we see sound waves, but our ears are sensitive to them. There’s a pretty good chance you have never seen your brain, and yet you are using it right now to parse this illustration! We don’t see God nor faith, but if our heart is sincere it will detec…

OUR RICH FATHER

OUR RICH FATHER If we have a rich father, billionaire, and he asks you to request a day off to spend time with him, will you be afraid to ask for it, even to lose our job? No, because you have your father's backing. He has lots of the money so we won't lack anything if we please him. We can say for sure that no one is wealthier than our heavenly Father, Jehovah. If we need to ask time off from work to attend meetings or conventions and our boss says ‘No’ and threatens to fire us, we should not get overly anxious because we have a rich father that has promised to take care of us! Question is: Do we really believe that? That's why we need to keep a s…

NOT A WASTE OF LIFE
by Guest- 0 replies

NOT A WASTE OF LIFE When the widow dropped the two coins of little value, Jesus didn't say: stop don't do that! This temple is going to be destroyed soon, that's a waste! A comment like that would have been technically correct. And it would have been practical because she was giving everything she had. Why didn't he say that? Because the widow's motive was to give wholeheartedly to Jehovah. And Jehovah accepted that. This illustrates a vital truth. Many of our brothers and sisters have dedicated their lives to God with the hope of seeing the end coming during …

WORKSHOP A silversmith needs a workshop. The same with a potter. What about Jehovah? Christian meetings are Jehovah's workplace where he works on molding us. What about Satan? His wicked world is his workshop. If we don't attend meetings and stay in the world, who will end up molding us?

JW members are instructed by this GB member to trust their leaders aka Governing Body. On other side Bible has many verses that warning people about that issue. Well, it seems how human influence and even manipulation is on work. Just few Bible verses as evidence: My dear brothers, do not trust every spirit. But test the spirits to see if they belong to God. - 1 John Do not rely on a friend; do not trust in a companion. Seal the doors of your mouth from her who lies in your arms - Micah 7 Do not put your trust in princes, in human beings, who cannot save. - Psalm 146 For your own sakes, quit trusting in mere man,Who is only the breath in his nostrils…

If this hadn’t ended in a threat, I would have forgotten all about it. Even so, I am not sure that it was worth the effort to put together. Don’t I have other things to do? And didn’t @The Librarian (that old hen) once tell me to knock it off when I got into a long squabble with Alan the Juggernaut? “I call all to witness that Tom has not answered my question,” he said. “It’s just you and me, you idiot,” I replied. “What! Do you think that you are Clarence Darrow arguing “Inherit the Wind?” Nonetheless, I did reassemble the tweets in this instance, which is not easy to do chronologically when they fly back and forth quickly. What saves me with these trolls is that …

Juror Dan Stinnett, in his first interview about the case, explained how he and eight other Sanders County jurors found the Jehovah’s Witnesses governing organizations negligent and “guilty of malice” in the child sexual abuse of Alexis Nunez, awarding her $35 million. “I believe they were trying to cover up, yes. I have no doubt about that,” Stinnett said. When asked if he was trying to send a message with his jury vote, Stinnett responded, “Why, absolutely. We as jurors and as society really don’t condone … any of this.” The Nunez case is one of dozens tallied by the Hearst Television National Investigative Unit as part of a yearlong investigation that uncovered ne…

This forum currently contains a recent topic where the subject of the 1918 imprisonment and 1919 release of Rutherford and his associates has come up. There is a lot of misinformation under that topic. I'm no expert on the subject, but it's still obvious that even some who present themselves as experts can be misinformed. There is plenty of documentation and verifiable information out there on the topic, and while there's no real shame in being misinformed, we should be careful not to present ourselves as experts. When a person presents themselves as an expert, their misinformation becomes disinformation. We should strive for honesty. And it's not th…

Open letter to Daro Weilburg Dear Daro, I must ask you first of all to forgive my boldness, since, although almost fifteen years younger than you, I have to reproach you. Do not think I mean to disrespect. But having as a predecessor Elihu, who, in spite of his youth, did not refrain from rebuking the venerable Job I believe that I can in good conscience follow the example of this wise figure of antiquity. I watched some of your videos on the internet. I answer here because you have blocked all comments on your page, so it is impossible to reach you. I have no doubt that you are a sincere person, but beware! in the darkest days …

Yes, I know, I know. The application of the Man of Lawlessness is to the emergence of the clergy class in the early centuries. That point was repeated in the discussion of Paul’s second letter to the Thessalonians at the midweek meetings. But is there anyone other than me that thinks a modern application would be more to the emergence of a modern-day atheist class, today’s apostasy, that turns upon the theocratic organization under the guise of “protecting people” from its “mind-control?” 2 Thessalonians 2:3. Let no one lead you astray in any way, because it will not come unless the apostasy comes first and the man of lawlessness gets revealed, the son of destru…

I do find it kinda' funny that JW's love to talk about billions of people being removed / destroyed / killed / murdered at Armageddon. Billions of people. And for what ? Well JW's say it's for not serving God. But they will also say it's for not being a baptised JW. Well we do know for sure that God either deliberately had, or deliberately allowed, the destruction of Jerusalem in circa 70 C E, and for what ? Well the Bible shows us it was for not serving God properly, and for killing God's son. BUT when I suggest that the Governing Body should be removed or destroyed, oh dear, the JW's they get really upset ya know. Governing Body = 8 men. J…

If you fill to near capacity a 40,000+ seat stadium for a volunteer event, put on by volunteers, surely those of the local media will be impressed. Not the Phoenix New Times reporter! who is “weirded-out” by aspects of the gathering that most would find commendable, and barely mentions the event anyway, as she immerses herself in the narrative of Jehovah’s Witnesses’ harshest detractors. Plainly, the packed stadium photos and the gist of the article do not match. I could be wrong, but I think most will recognize this piece as a hit job, and it might even motivate some to go there to investigate, where they will see that the tone of it is nonsense. “Three days of musi…

“I came to start a fire on the earth, and what more is there for me to wish if it has already been lighted?”—Luke 12:49 What fire? How did it get lit? Doesn’t it refer to God’s ways versus the ways of a world estranged from him? That fire was lit long ago. Jesus fans it into fever pitch, introducing a preaching activity that will ultimately put the choice in everyone’s face—is it the kingdom that they want to rule over them, or the present human system of 200 squabbling nations? Jehovah’s Witnesses who speak for him today do nothing to bring that future kingdom about, but they do publicize it: “And in the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a …
