Let your light shine before men, so that they may see your fine works and give glory to your Father who is in the heavens.—Matt. 5:16. Moses was given specific instructions for building the tabernacle and organizing the priesthood, which he followed closely. (Ex. 39:32; 40:12-16) Even today, we benefit from his faithfulness in fulfilling that assignment. How so? The apostle Paul explained that those features of the Law were illustrative of “good things to come.” (Heb. 9:1-5, 9; 10:1) The work God gives his servants differs from time to time according to the progressive outworking of his purpose. Still, the work they have been assigned has always glorified Jehovah and…

The Jehovah's Witnesses put 69 Adams St. in DUMBO up for sale

The Jehovah's Witnesses have just put onto the sale market a development site in the heart of DUMBO, 69 Adams St. The building that now occupies the site has a four-story recreational facility and an 84-space parking garage. Its rooftop is graced with an open-air tennis court — which is topped by a fence so cars and pedestrians down below don't accidentally get pelted with over-exuberantly hit balls. The Watchtower recently posted the sale offering online without alerting reporters. According to the posting, 69 Adams St. is “a 157,410-square-foot development opportunity adjacent to the iconic Manhattan Bridge.” The Jehovah's Witnesses did not offe…

Doesn’t having brothers and sisters being used as security to “protect” Kingdom Halls show a form of idolatry over a building / corporation? Isn’t a human life worth so much more than a building? And what exactly would one of Jehovah’s Witnesses do if confronted by determined robbers?

The natural Firefall is one of Yosemite’s most amazing spectacles. Around the second week of February, the setting sun hits Horsetail Fall at just the right angle to illuminate the upper reaches of the waterfall. And when conditions are perfect, Horsetail Fall glows orange and red at sunset. Each year in late February, hundreds of spectators gather in Yosemite to witness this amazing event. But If conditions are not perfect, the Yosemite Firefall will not glow. First and foremost, Horsetail Fall must be flowing. If there’s not enough snowpack in February, there will not be enough snowmelt to feed the waterfall, which tumbles 1,570 feet (480 meters) down the east face of…

MINNETONKA, Minn. - To most people, he was known as Prince. But to a select and private few, he was known as "Brother Prince." Prince was a member of the local St. Louis Park congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. And this Sunday, a memorial service has been planned at the Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Hall on Lake Street Ext. to celebrate his life. Brother George Cook is an elder with the church and said Prince was last there on March 23 – the day Jehovah's Witnesses across the world commemorated the death of Jesus. On Sunday, those who worshipped with Prince will say goodbye during a private funeral. Prince's family has been invited but declined to attend. They…
