Blood transfusions are common practice whenever a patient suffers blood shortage/loss due to accidents, haemorrhage, anemia, or surgical procedures that results to blood loss. But a single religion prefers bloodless medicine as a medical procedure – Jehovah’s Witnesses. In obedience to their Christian beliefs based on Acts 15:20 which states: “but to write them to abstain from things polluted by idols, from sexual immorality, from what is strangled and from blood.”(New World Translation 2013) As it states, blood (consumption or transfusion) is accounted to be in line with other grievous sins like immorality and idolatry, so Jehovah’s Witnesses would not con…

Russell purchased when he moved his operations to Brooklyn. It belonged to another preacher, Henry Ward Beecher, before he died. Russell also bought his other properties that Beecher had on Hick street, which I guess would be the first assembly hall. I was wondering if anyone knew if there was any connection between Russell and Beecher besides Russell just buying all his properties. It seems weird that he would buy that much property from the same person, and for the same purposes. The home on Columbia Heights was called "Beecher Bethel" before Russell bought it. After Russell bought it, it just became "Bethel" of the "House of Bethel". This picture appeared in the F…

. . I have been a contributor to JW-Archive.ORG for somewhere around five years now, and made somewhere around 6,360 comments, and although I think it is important that the Truth be fought for, and deception and error exposed, especially when there are cover stories to keep it hidden, there is a time to lay down the "rifle" and rest ... especially when there are those who are emboldened enough to carry on the fight. I am completely worn out. The Elders in the Congregation I attend, have made it quite clear to me they consider my fight for Justice and Truth inconsistent with current policy, and do not view Freedom of Speech the same way that I do .... as a…

Integrated Publishing System Integrated Publishing System is a system created in 1982 for publishing multilingual literature. It was designed to run on an IBM mainframe computer using an Autologic typesetter. It was thought that IBM hoped to be able to use this to increase their hold on the publishing industry, since such systems were rare at the time due to the unprofitability of publishing in many countries with poor economies. The software had been developed, despite its lack of financial viability on a for-profit basis, by the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society for the non-profit publishing of Christian literature. Sourc…

Elders of Jehovah’s Witnesses do not have the same privileged communications exemption as religious advisers in a sacramental confession if the confession does not involve a penitent. The potential landmark “first impression” ruling, reported by Delaware Law Weekly, was made recently by Superior Court Judge Mary Miller Johnston in refusing to throw out a case filed by the state against the Laurel Congregation of the Witnesses. The state said the elders should have reported a case child abuse between a juvenile and an adult member of the congregation. The elders met with the juvenile, her mother and an adult member who confirmed the relationship after the bo…

JEHOVAH (YAHWEH 2), in the Bible, the God of Israel. " Jehovah " is a modern mispronunciation of the Hebrew name, resulting from combining the consonants of that name, Jhvh, with the vowels of the word ¢donay, " Lord," which the Jews substituted for the proper name in reading the scriptures. In such cases of substitution the vowels of the word which is to be read are written in the Hebrew text with the consonants of the word which is not to be read. The consonants of the word to be substituted are ordinarily written in the margin; but inasmuch as Adonay was regularly read instead of the ineffable name Jhvh, it was deemed unnecessary to note the fact at every occurrence. W…

Examining the rules of pronunciation and grammar as it applies to the name יהוה. Addendum #1: Another passage that is frequently used in the discussion of the name YHWH is "call upon his name" as can be seen in Psalm 105:1. The Hebrew word translated as "call" is קרא (QRA), which can mean "call," but is the same word meaning "meet." And as discussed in the video, the word "name" can mean "character," so the phrase "call upon his name," can also mean "meet with his character." Also note that the phrase following this in Psalm 105:1 is "make known his deeds among the people." This is a parallel (a common form of Hebrew poetry found throughout Psalms) with "meet with his …

You are warmly invited to meet with us to observe the anniversary of Jesus’ death. Find a meeting location near you. Find a Location Near You “You Will Be With Me in Paradise” How will this promise be fulfilled? In the hours before he died, Jesus assured his faithful apostles that they would be with him in his heavenly Kingdom. (Luke 22:28-30) He later promised a condemned criminal: “You will be with me in Paradise.” (Luke 23:43) How will those words come true? The fulfillment of both promises is possible because Jesus surrendered his …
