It was my understanding years ago that how the JWs explained why we have animals killing animals and poisonous snakes and deadly plants etc was because god cursed the ground after Adam sinned. This scripture blows a hole in their doctrine if I’m correct. What’s your understanding of what GB teach on this issue and your thoughts on this scripture? In General 3:17 God curses the ground, and then in chapter 8 uncurses it for Noah. This is why we don't have weeds, thorns and thistles anymore. God took them away you see.

At the assembly today the Circuit Overseer, Steve Elumbaugh, talked about a single pioneer mother and her 3 year old unbaptized publisher daughter. Why would he relate that experience? It just makes the Witnesses seem unbalanced. Why would the Service Committee even approve the daughter. Poor baby. She's only 3 years old. SMH. This whole thing is past ridiculous.

(Har–Ma·ged′on) [from Heb., meaning “Mountain of Megiddo”]. This name is directly associated with “the war of the great day of God the Almighty.” The term applies specifically to the condition, or situation, to which “the kings of the entire inhabited earth” are gathered in opposition to Jehovah and his Kingdom by Jesus Christ. In a number of versions it is rendered “Armageddon.” (Re 16:14, 16, AT; KJ; JB; RS; TEV) The name Har–Magedon, taken from Hebrew, means simply “Mountain of Megiddo.”Har–Magedon is thus seen to be a fight, not merely among men, but one in which God’s invisible armies take part. Its coming is certain and it will take place at the time set …

Part of a series on: Jehovah's Witnesses The Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses is the ruling council of Jehovah's Witnesses[1] based in Brooklyn, New York. The body assumes responsibility for formulating policy and doctrines, producing material for publications and conventions, and administering its worldwide branch office staff.[2][3] Members of the Governing Body say they are followers of Christ rather than religious leaders.[4] One member explained the Governing Body as being "Guardians of the Doctrine" when under oath in Australia in 2015.[119]Its size has varied, from seven (2010–2012)[5] to eighteen (1974–1980)[6]members.[7][8] As of October 2012, ther…

Part of a series on: The faithful and discreet slave is the term used by Jehovah's Witnesses to describe the religion's Governing Body in its role of directing doctrines and teachings. The group is described as a "class" of "anointed" Christians that operates under the direct control of Jesus Christ[1] to exercise teaching authority in all matters pertaining to doctrine and articles of faith.[2][3]The concept is a central doctrine of Jehovah's Witnesses' system of belief[4] and is based on their interpretation of the Parable of the Faithful Servant in Matthew 24:45–47, Mark 13:34-37 and Luke 12:35-48.The doctrine has undergone several major changes since it was form…

Hitting them where it hurts... in the checkbook!!! Republicans have quietly imposed a new tax on churches, synagogues and other nonprofits, a little-noticed and surprising change that could cost some groups tens of thousands of dollars. Their recent tax-code rewrite requires churches, hospitals, colleges, orchestras and other historically tax-exempt organizations to begin paying a 21 percent tax on some types of fringe benefits they provide their employees. That could force thousands of groups that have long had little contact with the IRS to suddenly begin filing returns and paying taxes for the first time. Many organizations are stunned to lea…

Chapters 19 and 20 of Revelation will unveil some significant details about the war of Armageddon and what will happen next. These details will include two major changes to the current understanding and, just as happened with the identity of Babylon the Great, this "change of vision" will be a real stumbling block for many Jehovah's Witnesses. These chapters will be examined in the next article but, faced with such a serious change of understanding for two other subjects, it was decided to treat them separately in the light of the whole Scripture. First of all we must realize that the Revelation speaks of the resurrection at the end of the millennium, and not …

Legislators ‘need to stopÂ’ working for institutions Dave Kohler, of Allentown, was abused by an ordained minister in the JehovahÂ’s Witnesses in November 1965. He was 9 years old. When Kohler was 17, his abuser told him to never talk about the abuse again. “So I obeyed and kept my mouth shut,” Kohler said. HeÂ’s been coming to Harrisburg for about five years to show his support for statute of limitations reform. “Individuals vote them in, and then they work for institutions,” Kohler said of the state legislators. “That needs to stop.” If reform is passed that would allow Kohler the opportunity to sue his abuser, Kohler said he knows what he would…

MOSCOW: Five Jehovah's Witnesses have been detained in Russia and charged with possessing weapons and running an extremist group, investigators said Wednesday (Oct 10), in the latest case targeting the banned religious movement. They were arrested in the Kirov region northeast of Moscow, where authorities said they found two grenades and a landmine in searches of their homes. The Jehovah's Witnesses are a Christian denomination that originated in the United States in the late 19th century. The Russian authorities consider the movement a totalitarian sect and last year the country's supreme court banned the Jehovah's Witnesses from operating in Russia. …

Meanwhile in Montana: HELENA, Mont. (AP) — A Montana jury has ruled that the Jehovah’s Witnesses organization must pay $34 million to a woman who says the church covered up her sexual abuse as a child at the hands of a congregation member. Neil Smith, an attorney representing the 32-year-old woman, says the jury’s verdict Wednesday in the lawsuit sends a message to the Jehovah’s Witnesses’ New York headquarters to stop prioritizing church secrecy over children’s safety. Jehovah’s Witness officials did not immediately respond to a call or email for comment. The monetary award must be reviewed by the trial judge. The jury dismissed claims by a sec…

When the woman asked why he was watching the videos, the teenager answered evasively. Media reported the first details of the interrogation of Vladislav Roslyakov’s mother after her son had blown a bomb and shot fellow students at a Kerch college yesterday. According to the Mash Telegram Channel, the woman admitted that a few days before the slaughter, her son had been watching videos of school shootings. When she saw it and wondered why he was doing it, Vladislav said: "No reason." On the day when Vladislav Roslyakov blew up his school, he had waited for his mother to leave for work, and went to college only after that. Earlier, RT reported citing a source…
