Over the years in my talks and pioneer schools that I taught I used absolutely ANY event or story to confirm that we had the Truth. Here are some examples: Someone at the door listened to us - Holy Spirit directed us there! Someone at the door didn’t listen to us - We gave them a chance and not everyone will listen anyway. No one has been disfellowshipped from the congregation recently - Jehovah has a clean organization. Someone was just disfellowshipped - Jehovah is cleaning his organization There is gossip in the congregation - We are all imperfect and that’s why we have the Bible with examples of imperfection. There is very little gossip in o…

12 ...."‘This is what the Sovereign Lord Jehovah says:“You were the model of perfection, Full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. 13 You were in Eʹden, the garden of God. You were adorned with every precious stone —Ruby, topaz, and jasper; chrysʹo·lite, onyx, and jade; sapphire, turquoise, and emerald; And their settings and mountings were made of gold. They were prepared on the day you were created. 14 I assigned you as the anointed covering cherub. You were on the holy mountain of God, and you walked about among fiery stones. 15 You were faultless in your ways from the day you were created Until unrighteousness was found in you. 16 Because of you…

We all know how much The Watchtower abhors "Higher Education" and that apparently Jehovah thinks it is a big waste of time. At least that is their official stance. It might come as a shock to you that this month they have started a campaign drive to actually RECRUIT JWs who have higher education, specifically those who have legal training. With all the law suits against them for creating an environment that is friendly to paedophiles, it is thus no wonder that they are in need of solicitors, especially those who are sympathetic towards the cult. Talk about hypocrisy! The original letter (in Spanish as it is from the Mexico branch) and surv…

Two women who say they were sexually abused as children have alleged that the Jehovah's Witnesses failed to report their abuser to authorities in Montana. By MATT VOLZ, Associated Press HELENA, Mont. (AP) — Two women who say they were sexually abused as children have alleged that the Jehovah's Witnesses failed to report their abuser to authorities in Montana and instead punished him internally by expelling him from the congregation until he repented the following year. A trial begins Monday in the tiny city of Thompson Falls for one of dozens of lawsuits filed nationwide in the last decade over claims of child sexual abuse in Jehovah's Wit…

Watchtower has referred to Ptolemy's Canon as corroborating the accepted 539 BCE date, iirc, but otherwise pooh-pooh it as being unreliable.

If your parents shun you.... PLEASE, PLEASE also force a no contact policy between your JW parents and their grandchildren. This is the ONLY way for them to understand that disrespecting you is not allowed and so they can also experience how hurtful their behavior is. Have any of you already done this? I think they often forget the "Stop Judging LEST THEE BE JUDGED" commandment. Especially the latter part.

I liked at the meeting Thursday, Proverbs 21:2, one of the support scriptures cited on the gem point of how Jehovah draws people: All of a man’s ways seem right to him, But Jehovah examines the hearts. Everybody is right. Nobody states a fact that is wrong. Everybody states facts that are right. These are all matters of the head. But how they are combined and how they are prioritized are matters of the heart, which Jehovah examines.

This is a "Judicial Committee" of Jehovah's Witnesses summoning a JW member to a "hearing" for one of his suspected online profiles behaviour. "It has come to light and to the attention of the body of elders".... These same quasi-legal hearings from brothers who print out official summons "correspondence" in red ink? Hmmm... Do you think JW.org is embedded in Apple Siri or Alexa by Amazon listening devices?

I have been commenting here somewhere around 7 or 8 years ... I think ... and somewhere around 8,000 comments. If I wanted to make an off line copy of my comments from the very beginning on the Archive ... how would I do it? Over the years, How well has the JW-Archive.org Archive of past conversations held up?

The Finnish government has ruled that the current law allowing Jehovah's Witnesses to avoid military service, in place for several decades, is discriminatory and contradicts the constitution. In the future, Finnish Jehovah's Witnesses* will be obliged to either serve in the nation's military or perform civil service on the same terms as everyone else, the government ruled, submitting a corresponding proposal to parliament, national broadcaster Yle reported. According to the 1987 law, Jehovah's Witnesses were not only freed from the military draft, they were freed of any obligation to perform community service as a pacifist alternative, a common option…

Three years after Erik Miranda was shot and killed early on a Sunday morning, the crime that remains unsolved, denying his family what they want most: closure. Family members held a lantern vigil Thursday, Sept. 20 — the anniversary of the 24-year-old's death — at Kiwanis Lake. York City Police officers responding to reports of shots fired just before 6 a.m. on Sept. 20, 2015, found Miranda's body in an alleyway in the 200 block of Jefferson Avenue, where he lived with his mother. Family members described him as a kind, caring man who was a devoted Jehovah's Witness. They said he had no enemies, which makes the homicide even more difficult to underst…
