Can God be “served” through the Watchtower organization? Is it His purpose that men and women devote their lives to a mission that began as a simple gathering of believers and grew to a mega-corporation of earthly investments, under the auspices of a “preaching work”? From the Watchtower 1998/9/1: “The November 1, 1922, issue of The Watchtower said about the word “organization”: “An organization is an association of persons for the purpose of carrying out a formed design.” The Watchtower went on to explain that to call Jehovah’s Witnesses an organization did not make them “a sect in the sense that that term is used, but it means merely that the Bible Stu…

In case any of you were wondering where you "ranked" in the eyes of JW's worldwide.... this is what has been observed as general guidelines from people that have actually lived as a JW in the last few decades: Let's start at the very top classes here on earth of actual PEOPLE or GROUPS: "Faithful and Discreet Slave" - Now only the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses below - Removed Anointed Ones - Removed The Governing Body Watchtower Attorneys (Brothers who are Attorneys or Doctors) (They get invited to live at Bethel at the expense of "the flock") Committee Members "Bethel Elders" District Overseers - Gone.... Psalm 110:1 ‘The Lord (Jehovah) said to my Lord (Adonai) sit thou . . .’ (p.869). Did you know that Adonai (Lord) used of Jesus in Psalm 110:1 is also used of the Father in Exodus 23:17, Deuteronomy 10:17, Joshua 3:11?

Pearl Doxsey - (1 Corinthians 14:34)... "let the women keep silent in the congregations, for it is not permitted for them to speak, but let them be in subjection, even as the Law says" Paul had been a teacher of this "Law" that he was referring to (Acts23:6). This was the Jewish Law, which viewed woman as lower class, untouchable, and as unclean. Christ abolished this practice (Rom.4:14; Eph.2:15,16; Matt.9:20,21,22), as we will see. At Gal.2:21; 3:1-2 Paul stated... I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness were through the law, then Christ died for no purpose. O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you that you should not obey the…

The video starts in a board room meeting where a group of men are brainstorming experiences which they can share – and one of the pinpoints “Sally”. ? The clip then cuts to a young woman walking around what appears to be a market. She seeÂ’s women wearing rainbow bracelets, with rainbow posters showing two stick-figure women holding hands. When she goes to the till sheÂ’s asked if she would like to “make a donation to the marathon”, to which Sally says “no, thank you”. She then walks to a separate store and purchases a blanket. While waiting she sees a number of women wearing the bracelet. The woman who serves her asks Sally if she woul…

What percentage of children in Bolivia can purchase an iPad? I remember years ago adapting to the country I would visit by NOT making a "showy display of one's means of life" How is this an appropriate way to teach the world's poorest children to read, write and learn about the Bible? Jesus could have easily created a 3D holographic display of the heavenly realms for all to see in Jerusalem... But did he? Just because we CAN make great cartoons that entertain children... is that our true purpose? Did Jesus say "for this I came into the world to show cartoons to children"? We should spend more time teaching the Bible AND caring f…

He was showing them in the Bible where Jesus spoke of how it would be easier for a camel to go through the eye of needle than for a rich man to enter into the Kingdom. Oops.... sorry... I hear it was cartoons about Caleb and Sophia giving up their ice cream money to donate on jw.org (to pay for pedophile cover up lawsuits) The last part was omitted I hear.

Most of us have probably already worked through the online Bible Study course on jw.org.This was an excellent idea. Although others sites have done it, too, it was especially good to see it on the jw.org site. It has some unique features here and is, of course, geared toward a Witness viewpoint. Yet there are very few lessons that contain a lot of unique doctrinal material, even though Trinity, Soul/Hell are presented. It's very simplified and has some nice features that would work well for non-readers. It's all finished in 8 lessons. Each lesson may have only a few questions or sections and a quick reader can get through all the content of all the lessons, including…

How Can We Make Our Days Count Before Jehovah? “Lost, yesterday, somewhere between sunrise and sunset, two golden hours, each set with sixty diamond minutes. No reward is offered, for they are gone forever!”—Lydia H. Sigourney, American author (1791-1865). Wise use of our time comes only after we are keenly aware of its value. Aptly, Ephesians 5:16 urges us to ‘buy out the opportune time for ourselves,Â’ and this implies “purchasing” it, forgoing less important things. It means reducing time-wasting pursuits. Too much television viewing or surfing of the Internet, reading of unprofitable secular material, or the excessive pursuit of recreation and en…
