I suspect that not eating Jimmy John's Roast Beef and Provolone Sub will not make you live longer ... it will just seem like an eternity.

Robin, Batman's "Boy Wonder" sidekick.
I wonder if he had hairy bruised up legs, or shaved them every day before fighting crime

Ah those memories. I bought an Apple IIe back in 82 or so for too much money even though I bought it used. I used it with a modem to submit my programs to the "mainframe" at school. My first work "PC" was also an Osborne, that looked much like the above picture, but it was running an early MS-DOS by then rather than CP/M. I bought it from my boss, and it was not something to take on trips. Took it to Boston once or twice. A luggable, they called it. In 1985 my job at ADLittle/Trump bought me one of the first HP laptops.

I used to have an Osborne 01 Computer I paid 2,000 dollars for.
It was "transportable". and weighed 27 pounds with a white on green screen 5 inches diagonally.
The entire CP/M operating system was 16K
NOT MEGS, Kilobytes.

admin reacted to James Thomas Rook Jr. in This river turbine churns out energy 24/7!
I think it should be re-designed with a screen to capture the fish, and pump them up to the kitchen.

Ad copy: Fish tend to avoid it because it slows down the current . . .
Translation: The biggest problem is the way it kills so many fish who come up to it because it slows down the current (and might even jam up the turbine, turning it into dam of rotting fish). . .
Still, if they can solve that problem with a non-capturing convex rather than a concave mesh screen, for example, it might be an excellent source of off-the-grid power.

admin reacted to James Thomas Rook Jr. in Vintage soda cans
I used to really LIKE the old tin plated, steel drink cans of yesteryear ... that you needed a "church key" that would make a triangular hole in the top of the can, and the other end would open a glass soda bottle metal pressed on top. You could always tell who tried to open the soda bottles with their teeth, as they had some missing, and others that they had left, could use to eat corn on the cob through a picket fence.
I was young, and had a blue 454 corvette convertible with an automatic transmission, and when it was almost dark, I could drive with my right hand on the steering wheel, and with my left hand drag a steel can on the pavement, making a shower of sparks .... and the little kids would look at me ... and marvel!

5,200 years from now, after WWIII .... and the Earth has reverted to a much more primitive time, and only insectoid humanoid insects evolved by radiation into humanoid shaped creatures roam the Earth ... Insectoid Archaeologists will be digging through the Earth's crust to search out their past, and 32 feet above the now famous Iridium level in the Earth's crust, will be the then famous global AOL CD Disk level.
