HEART TRANSPLANTATION IN JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES.....
According to Organ Procurement and Transplantation, only about 2,600 donor hearts are available each year. At any given time, about 4,000 people are on the waiting list for a heart transplant.
In the past, people with religious objections to blood transfusions refused this and other resuscitation procedures. But for many, surgery is now possible without conflict with faith.
Raoul Gibson, 35, received the heart of a donor at Duke Hospital on the last Valentine's Day. Normally, he would have had to refuse the transplant to save lives, due to a certain principle of his Jehovah's Witnesses faith.
"The fact that I was not going to accept blood, blood transfusions, or any whole blood product," Gibson said.
Ten years ago, Duke started his Center for Blood Conservation. They developed a process for any surgery involving transfusions to control bleeding. Dr. Mani Daneshmand said that they worked closely with representatives of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Gibson was hospitalized for more than a month, receiving a natural hormone to stimulate the production of red blood cells.
Later they are allowed to remove some of their blood, yet they remain true to a key principle.
"We actually keep the blood in continuity with its own blood, but we remove it so the blood can not bleed," Daneshmand said.
That more concentrated blood is replaced with other non-blood fluids, so a little bleeding will not present problems.
There is also a "cell protector" device.
"So any blood that is lost is absorbed immediately by that apparatus and returned to the bloodstream," Daneshmand said.
"They wash all the organs before they put them on me, so they would not be exposed to blood," Gibson said.
Gibson said he is anxious to return home and enjoy a more normal life.
"I'm looking forward to seeing how my new heart feels and how I'm going to be able to do new things," Gibson said.

Wirklich einfallsreich waren die Zeugen Jehovas am Freitag zwar nicht, mit ihrem unübersehbaren blauen Pavillon lockten sie dennoch den einen oder anderen Passanten an ihren Stand.
Zusammen mit dem netten Herrn, der fast täglich auf der Marktstraße steht und aus der Bibel zitiert, bräuchte Lahr jetzt eigentlich nur noch jeweils einen Vertreter von Islam, Judentum und Buddhismus. Dann könnte man während dem Shoppen gleich mehrmals seine Religion wechseln – ganz wie es gerade in den Kram passt. Spaß beiseite: Wie schön ist es doch, dass in Deutschland jeder zu dem stehen kann, was er denkt oder glaubt.
Das wird heutzutage viel zu oft vergessen, finden Sie nicht auch?

Twitter El Gobierno ruso ha puesto en su punto de mira a los testigos de Jehová y ha pedido a la Justicia que prohiba por extremista toda la actividad de esta organización religiosa que cuenta con 175.000 seguidores en el país. El Ministerio de Justicia ha solicitado al Tribunal Supremo la prohibición del Centro de dirección de los testigos de Jehová en Rusia tras investigar su actividad, que considera "contraria a las leyes rusas y a los propios estatutos de la organización".
"No entendemos qué objetivo persiguen las autoridades. Se mire por donde se mire, nos parece un sinsentido. Creemos que se trata de una equivocación que finalmente se quedará en eso, y el Ministerio de Justicia retirará su demanda", dijo a Efe el portavoz de la comunidad religiosa en Rusia, Iván Belenko.
Los testigos de Jehová temen que el Gobierno se haya propuesto liquidar la totalidad de sus 2.200 grupos religiosos y 400 organizaciones locales.
Todo apunta, sin embargo, a que tienen los días contados en este país, toda vez que eÌ Supremo ya respaldó en el pasado su prohibición en varias regiones y ciudades.
En todos los procesos judiciales contra la organización, las autoridades le han incriminado el almacenamiento y difusión de literatura religiosa de carácter extremista.
"Todas las decisiones judiciales contra nosotros se basan en una única acusación: que algunos de nuestros libros y discursos están en la lista de literatura extremista que existe en este país", explicó Belenko.
Denunció que las decisiones de incluir a unas u otras publicaciones en la lista negra "se tomaron en base a opiniones de falsos expertos y sentencias judiciales dictadas a espaldas de los creyentes".
Una cita del filósofo español Miguel de Unamuno estuvo a punto de convertirse en motivo legal para prohibir una de sus organizaciones territoriales, según el portavoz de los testigos de Jehová.
"Unamuno escribió que para creer en la inmortalidad del alma hay que desearlo, y el deseo debe ser tan fuerte como para silenciar la voz de la razón. Incluimos la cita en un discurso y la Fiscalía nos acusó de extremistas. Sólo a última hora alguien paró la denuncia, seguramente por respeto al filósofo", recordó Belenko.
La noticia, sin embargo, llegó a los medios de comunicación oficiales, que en los últimos años se han subido a la ola propagandística que ensalza a la Iglesia ortodoxa rusa y critica a movimientos religiosos minoritarios como los testigos de Jehová o los Mormones.
"Cada vez que los medios informan de que algunas de nuestras publicaciones han sido incluidas en las listas de literatura extremista, nuestros creyentes son víctimas de actos violentos por parte de radicales", se quejó Belenko.
El presidente de la Asociación rusa para el Estudio de Religiones y Sectas, Alexandr Dvorkin, considera que los testigos de Jehová son una secta que crea en torno a sus seguidores su propio mundo, un entorno aislado del resto de la sociedad.
Dvorkin también ha criticado y ha tachado de sectas a los Mormones y a la Iglesia de la Cienciología, prohibida por la Justicia rusa en noviembre de 2015.
La campaña contra las sectas coincide con un alza sin precedentes en más de un siglo de la religiosidad entre los rusos, aunque menos del 10 % de los ciudadanos acuden regularmente a la iglesia, según estudios del prestigioso Centro Levada.
Ahora que los ortodoxos deben observar el gran ayuno de la Cuaresma, tan sólo un 3 % de los rusos siguen con rigor las restricciones en la alimentación previas al Domingo de Resurrección.
Hace muchos años que el Kremlin va de la mano con la Iglesia ortodoxa rusa en la defensa de los valores tradicionales, mientras acusa a Occidente de ser una sociedad depravada que ha perdido su identidad por tolerar los matrimonios homoãexuales y por permitir la entrada descontrolada de inmigrantes que profesan otras creencias.

Rusia estudia ilegalizar a los Testigos de Jehová al considerarlos extremistas

Regeneración, 17 de marzo del 2017.-El Tribunal Supremo de Rusia estudiará si considera a los Testigos de Jehová una organización “extremista”, después de que el Ministerio de Justicia solicitase permiso para cerrar las principales oficinas de este grupo religioso, ubicadas en la ciudad de San Petersburgo.
La máxima instancia judicial rusa se reunirá el 5 de abril para estudiar dicha petición, que supondría en la práctica la ilegalización de una organización que dice contar con ocho millones de seguidores en todo el mundo.
Los Testigos de Jehová han asegurado en un comunicado que “millones de creyentes de todo el mundo consideran las acciones del Ministerio un gran error” y han subrayado que no son una organización extremista. En este sentido, han recordado que el veto afectaría a 400 de sus ramificaciones y a un total de 175.000 fieles.
“Si esta denuncia prospera, acarreará consecuencias catastróficas para la libertad religiosa en Rusia”, han lamentado los Testigos de Jehová en su nota. Las autoridades ya realizaron este año un masivo registro en la sede de San Petersburgo en la que se incautaron de documentación.
Rusia ya ha prohibido publicaciones de la organización religiosa argumentando que destruye familias e incita al odio y, según Amnistía Internacional, 16 miembros ya fueron condenados a finales de 2015 por pertenencia a una “organización extremista”.

  18 marzo 2017   Gli oltre 1500 Testimoni di Geova di Trapani e provincia chiamati a rafforzare la propria fede in Geova, è questo l’obiettivo e il tema della prossima assemblea dei Testimoni di Geova. L’appuntamento è a Caltanissetta, presso la Sala delle Assemblee in Contrada Canicasse’-Casale sabato 18 Marzo.
Il tema del congresso esprime un bisogno cruciale dei cristiani di oggi, cioè la fede in Dio che è la base della speranza di una vita migliore.
Il programma, attraverso discorsi, dimostrazioni e interviste aiuterà i presenti a sviluppare maggiormente questa qualità che, a causa di problemi economici, malattie, crisi occupazionale e altre circostanze difficili, viene messa costantemente alla prova.
  Gli oratori in programma mostreranno le ragioni per cui si può avere l’assoluta fiducia che Geova Dio si prende cura di noi e che realizzerà tutte le sue promesse.
In vista di questa necessità, tra i diversi argomenti sviluppati, il tema ‘Aiutami dove ho bisogno di fede!’ sottolineerà la Fonte da cui possiamo trarre conforto e forza. Un altro discorso, ‘In ogni circostanza, “abbiate fede in Dio”’ illustrerà perché è necessario avere fede di fronte ad ogni sfida. Infine il discorso pubblico dal tema ‘La vera fede: Cos’è? Come possiamo manifestarla?’ sarà pronunciato da un ministro viaggiante dei Testimoni di Geova.

2 "When presumptuousness comes, dishonor will follow,
But wisdom is with the modest ones." (Proverbs 11:2)
WHEN Jehovah chose Saul to be king, Saul was modest. (1 Samuel 9:1, 2, 21; 10:20-24) But after he became king, he became presumptuous. 
On one occasion, thousands of Philistines came to fight the Israelites. The prophet Samuel had told Saul that he would come and offer a sacrifice to Jehovah. 
However, before Samuel arrived, the Israelites became afraid and many of them abandoned Saul. He became impatient, and instead of waiting for Samuel, he offered the sacrifice himself. Saul had no authority to do this, and Jehovah was not pleased.—1 Samuel 13:5-9.
2 When Samuel arrived, he reproved Saul for disobeying Jehovah. But Saul did not think that he had done anything wrong. He tried to find excuses, and he even blamed others for his mistake. (1 Samuel 13:10-14) 
From that time on, Saul did many other presumptuous things. So Jehovah rejected him from being king. (1 Samuel 15:22, 23) Saul’s life began well but ended very badly.—1 Samuel 31:1-6.
We show respect for Jehovah by being modest,
A modest person knows that Jehovah alone deserves all glory, because he is the Creator and the Most High in the universe. (Revelation 4:11) If we are modest, we will be happy with whatever we can do in Jehovah’s service. jw.org

WILL YOU ACCEPT GOD’S GREATEST GIFT ?
A Gift Unlike Any Other....

THE boat-shaped pencil sharpener in Jordan’s hand seems unremarkable. Yet, it is one of his most treasured possessions. Jordan explains, “Russell, an elderly family friend, gave it to me when I was very young.” After Russell’s death, Jordan learned that Russell had played a pivotal role in the lives of Jordan’s grandfather and parents, reassuring them during difficult times. “Now that I have learned more about Russell,” Jordan says, “this tiny gift is more valuable to me than ever.”
As Jordan’s experience illustrates, a gift may have little or no value in some people’s eyes. To the appreciative recipient, though, it may be precious, even priceless. The Bible describes a gift of incalculable worth in these well-known words: “God loved the world so much that he gave his only-begotten Son, so that everyone exercising faith in him might not be destroyed but have everlasting life.”—John 3:16.
A gift that can bring the receiver everlasting life! Can there be any gift of greater worth? While some may not recognize the value of that gift, true Christians esteem it as “precious.” (Psalm 49:8; 1 Peter 1:18, 19) Why, though, did God offer the life of his Son as a gift for the world?
The apostle Paul explains why in these words: “Through one man sin entered into the world and death through sin, and so death spread to all men.” (Romans 5:12) The first man, Adam, sinned by knowingly disobeying God, and he thus suffered the penalty of death. Through Adam, death came upon all his descendants—the world of humankind.
 “The wages sin pays is death, but the gift God gives is everlasting life by Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23) To free mankind from the condemnation of death, God sent his Son, Jesus Christ, to earth to sacrifice his perfect life for the world. On the basis of that sacrifice, known as “the ransom,” all who exercise faith in Jesus will have everlasting life.—Romans 3:24.
Regarding all the blessings that God extends to his worshippers through Jesus Christ, Paul declares: “Thanks be to God for his indescribable free gift.” (2 Corinthians 9:15) Yes, the ransom is so marvelous that we are incapable of fully describing it. But among all of God’s gracious gifts to humankind, why is the ransom especially remarkable? In what way is it unlike any of God’s other gifts? * And how should we respond to it ?  We invite you to read the Bible’s answers to those questions in the following two articles.

Każdy dobry dar i każdy doskonały podarunek pochodzi z góry, bo zstępuje od Ojca świateł niebiańskich (Jak. 1:17).
Co robisz, gdy dostajesz prezent? Najprawdopodobniej nie potraktujesz go jak czegoś oczywistego, lecz okażesz za niego wdzięczność. Zapewne też zrobisz z niego właściwy użytek. Wiatr i fale, które otaczały Piotra idącego po wodzie, można przyrównać do prób i pokus napotykanych w naszym życiu, które oddaliśmy Bogu. Nawet kiedy są one ciężkie, możemy z pomocą Jehowy stać niewzruszenie. Zauważ, że Piotr nie zaczął tonąć z powodu podmuchu wiatru czy dużej fali. Przypomnij sobie kolejność wydarzeń: „Patrząc na wicher, zląkł się” (Mat. 14:24-32). Piotr odwrócił wzrok od Jezusa i wtedy jego wiara się zachwiała. My też moglibyśmy niejako zacząć tonąć, gdybyśmy ‛popatrzyli na wicher’ — skupili się na jego sile i zwątpili we wsparcie Jehowy. Powinniśmy poważnie traktować możliwość osłabnięcia naszej wiary, ponieważ jej nadwątlenie lub utratę Biblia określa mianem „grzechu, który nas łatwo omotuje” (Hebr. 12:1). Przeżycie Piotra pokazuje, że jeżeli skupimy się na niewłaściwych rzeczach, nasza wiara może szybko osłabnąć. w15 15.9 3:1, 6, 7
