ComfortMyPeople got a reaction from Dmitar in Furuli's new e-book: "My Beloved Religion - And The Governing Body"
I see, in my opinion, that the parables of the slave/ steward could have three senses:
    1
According to the Bible, in a sense I am a steward, or supervisor of my family. I have to take care of it, feed it and take care of it.
    2
(1 Timothy 5:17) "Let the elders who preside in a fine way ..." shows that in each congregation there must be some who supervises and cares for the rest of the congregation: a steward group of elders.
    3
In the final age it would be neccesary a global stewardship
The analysis of the next passage alone yields much information on this matter, the administration or stewardship of the "house of God":
(Revelation 7:9, 10) . . .After this I saw, and look! a great crowd, which no man was able to number, out of all nations and tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, dressed in white robes; and there were palm branches in their hands. 10 And they keep shouting with a loud voice, saying: “Salvation we owe to our God, who is seated on the throne, and to the Lamb.”
    1) A large number of people would be saved from the final Great Tribulation
Each one in her house, living only according to her criteria or conscience? Let's see
    2) They ALL dress the SAME way, in white in the eyes of God
So there should be a unified behavior and conduct, not based ONLY on individual consciousness
    3) They speak in unison, they have a common message
They "shouted" the same message. There is nothing worse than a detuned choir.
    4) The basic doctrinal body would be the same
They worship one God and see the value of the Lamb.
    5) Something that would make this unit difficult is that they come from very different backgrounds
"of all nations, tribes, peoples, and languages,"
How could Mt 24:14 be accomplished with the outcome of Rev 7:9-10 without direction, organization, supervision or stewardship?
Over there I am listening to one, there in the background, who says that Christ from heaven takes charge, with the holy spirit, that there is no need for greater supervision. Am I right?
if someone thinks like that, let's consider:
In another apocalyptic prophecy we read that
(Daniel 11:33). . those having insight among the people will impart understanding to the many. . .
(Daniel 12:10). . . And the wicked will act wickedly and no wicked will understand. Only those having insight will understand.
It seems that the prophecy indicates that there would be TWO groups of worshipers: the PEOPLE, the MANY on one side, and THOSE HAVING INSIGHT on the other. And this second group would help to obtain knowledge to the first one.
Yes, it would be necessary to teach others not the basic truths of the Gospel but what the angel said:
"(Daniel 12: 9)" these words must be kept secret and sealed until the end time "
"These words", which should be understood with the help of "those having insight", refer to such profound thoughts of Daniel's prophecy that even the prophet himself was unable to understand (Daniel 12:8  "I heard, but I did not understand"
Thus, this last world stewardship seems very necessary, since unifying an international crowd with similar behavior, with similar beliefs, that have a united message, would be impossible without such leadership. And Daniel adds a smaller group that oversees that teaching.

So stewardship applies, in my opinion, to any Christian who has to be a steward: on my family, on my congregation, and on the entire world brotherhood.

I agree that Joseph Smith was anything but Charles Taze Russell. But you don't have to dig very deep among early LDS to find a lot of things they should be ashamed and embarrassed about, but they seem oblivious to it.
A couple of their young elders (there's an oxymoron) wanted to study with me around 1995, and I let them come back about 6 times before they tired of me. The Internet was just a startup operation then, but one of the first things I did when I discovered it was to collect a ton of info on them. Our local town library also had a small collection of anti-Mormon books.
I wanted to discuss all these things with the Mormon elders, and one of them was aware of some of the claims, and he apparently mortified his partner, who stopped coming back with him on visit number 3. Normally, they give up on critics and questioners immediately, but I found that if I prefaced every criticism with "I have prayed about this question  . . . " that he would sincerely try to respond.
I took a job in a bank after Bethel and when the interviewer found out I was a JW, he said that they like to hire JWs, Mormons and Seventh Day Adventists. (And when we were looking for a housekeeper/babysitter the agency recommended that we hire Seventh Day Adventists or Jehovah's Witnesses, and this person did NOT know our religion.) I didn't like being classed with "competitors" but it said something about sincerity and honesty. @xero has correctly pointed out in other topics that there are many individuals in the world (and in other religions) who are often "better" in many ways. And here he has said what you quoted: "even though certain beliefs are demonstrably wrong about mormonism, the effects on them seem in many cases to be positive." Agreed.

Maybe. My insurance man was a Mormon. He died, but I am still with the agency he founded. (whether Mormons or not I am not sure—I think they are) I turned to him upon the recommendation of another Witness for business liability insurance. In time he commented on some scheme I had bought into from some brothers for health care insurance. He’s looked it over, he said, ‘and the premiums are unrealistically low.’ I was a young man then. I said how it is different with the Witnesses because they cut out the middleman and they are not greedy and it is not really insurance but pooled resources and all but said it had God’s smile of approval on it, but in time the monthly newsletter began acknowledging subscribers were asking why their bills were not being paid. To my knowledge, it was not dishonesty, just starry-eyed incompetence. I never got any premiums back, but that is true with any insurance. I never had any claim to submit—it was ‘major medical’ only, not routine doctor visits. I recall a Watchtower observing much later that just because someone is a good Christian, that does not mean he is a good businessman.
Yes. Maybe what we see is only what rises to the surface but they are trustworthy people. It is strange because so many of the roots are downright screwy. They originate from my neck of the woods, you know. At an antique/collectibles/junk shop I picked up a set of books by local historian Arch Merrill. Pioneer Profiles (1957) has a chapter on “The Mormon Prophets” There I learned that Joseph Smith was anything but the Mormon equivalent of Charles Taze Russell.
“To many of his neighbors in the drumlin county around Palmyra and Manchester in the restless 1820s, Joe Smith was a lazy, dreamy young bumpkin, one of a shiftless tribe. To them his claims of conversing with angels and receiving divine revelations were so much humbug.
they knew him as “a gangling lad in a calico shirt and patched pants with his yellow hair sticking through a hole in his dirty hat a mystical sort of fellow who was forever digging for buried treasure. peering into a magic stone and finding water in the earth with a twig when to their mind he should have been toiling on his father's farm. They conceded Joe ‘had a way with him’ and was a glib and convincing talker.”
Is the guy just anti-Mormon? Doesn’t seem so. His next sentence is:
“Today that same Joseph Smith is revered by nearly a million people in 30 lands as a divinely inspired prophet. Those fine thrifty people are popularly known as Mormons and from the unlettered farm boys visions of golden plates hidden in a drumlins breast and from my handful of rustic disciples sprano the now mighty Church of Jesus Christ of latter day Saints.”
Maybe I’ll have to say of them the same thing I say to people who pound us over the head with inconsistencies from years past: “If you have to go back 100 years to dig up dirt, there can’t be that much dirt to dig.”

Today, I heard part of an interview with her on NPR. An interesting intrigue about her grandfather, Nikita Krushchev, is that he was a Ukrainian saboteur AGAINST the Soviet Union, and for several years he was secretly supporting the Nazi party in an effort to undermine Stalin. This likely makes very little sense to most of us, but is presented by some Russian scholars to explain some otherwise inexplicable episodes under Stalin. Historically, of course, Stalin was successful in initiating the Nuremburg trials. The United States was not totally on board with this, and the US secretly and sometimes openly hired former Nazis for various government positions. It is fortunate that Stalin actually was successful in pushing for these postwar trials, in that they provide a memorable "punctuation point" to the Nazi regime.

Yeah, I have thought about this too. The only caveat is that the West usually does not parade weapons around, as on May Day celebrations during periods of peace. “Fortresses” look much more godlike when that is done.
Then too, the push push push in the West is toward consumer goods (whereas there was almost none of that in the USSR). Thus, even if weapons are a big deal in the West, they look to something else for a god.
I did point out in ‘Don’t Know Why We Persecute’ that there are three instances in which Russia literally saved the world from nuclear annihilation. (Some are arguable, but all are plausible)
    1) When a certain colonel saw 5 incoming missiles on the Russian defense grid, judged it to be a malfunction, and told his underlings to ignore it.
    2) When one of three commanding officers of a Russian nuclear ship off Cuba refused to authorize use of nuclear missiles. The other two were onboard. Authorization had to be unanimous.
    3) Krushchev’s telegram to Kennedy during the missile crisis has the distinct air of walking a more inexperienced leader back from the edge.

I don't know.....it seems to me that who the king of the North is will be evident at the last moment, at the point of divine intervention. We used to say Russia was the king of the North during the cold War, (we expected the end to come soon) then when the cold War ended we said Russia was no longer the king of the North.....and now he is the King of the North again. What if Putin is removed and a democracy is put in place in Russia, and China starts misbehaving? Will China then be the king of the North? I'm just thinking out aloud....

I agree with you totally - but an opinion does not necessarily express sympathy for one side or the other side.  Most of it is just to find clarity about the background of what is going on.  We are still in this world and cannot go out of it.
I am not prepared to watch movies all day (my eyes are too bad) or do internet field service for 14 hours solid....  I do not have that number of contacts.  So please tell me what I can do with my time?
I am a pensioner and apart from a walk on the beach, some cleaning and preparation of food and bible reading ..... I need to do some things.  I used to sing opera and make dresses and knit..... but now my eyes have become too bad and the voice a little rusty.... so I like to watch how Jehovah's prophecies are going into fulfillment.
... I do not suggest that you take ANY sides in this conflict.... that is showing favor to one of the sides of the Beast.
As the GB have shown - we must not take our eyes of the promises of Jehovah and try to develop the qualities of Jesus - keep our eyes focused on Him. But it is natural to want to understand what is going on around you.

The first revolution was a color revolution (orange revolution) - CIA has orchestrated many of these across the world.  They also changed the regime again at the last election with puppets in power.  The extreme corruption came when George Soros opened his NGO to "fight" corruption. The shenanigans of president Biden and his son in Ukraine is absolutely shocking but this was covered up.  What I learn from this is that ALL human government is absolutely corrupt and will stoop at nothing that is in their way. Human laws are made to be broken when the top echelons of society are forcing their will on the people. Honest men are fired and people are secretly killed or suicided.  Ukraine has been stolen of all their riches.
Putin is justifying this war - and while he has more than enough evidence and good reason to distrust the West - we know he represents the king of the North and will get a message from the remote north and east (Jehovah and Jesus) and go out to annihilate... (most probably together with his allies).....before he comes to his demise.... but this will happen at jehovah's time when the West and King of North have both reached the point where Jehovah decides - now is the time.
It has been 70 years now that the UN has been identified as the image of the beast.  With perestroika the west was fooled just as they have been with China's sudden capitalism....... but it is 'stakeholder capitalism".....and China and USA elites have their money interwoven in the west..... even Putin has money hidden in the west.
Does anyone here need any more confirmation that we are at the end of the end times?  It may still be a year or three - in which very much can happen.  All I do know is that they are planning digital identity documents for all nations in the west and have been forcefully jabbing people in the poorest regions of the world such as a province in India.  They want to keep track of all the billions in Africa and India so they can control the environment and who may eat what .

"In the early morning hours of February 24, 2022, Russia began a military invasion of Ukraine, despite the efforts of world leaders to avoid war."
That statement from the website is bland enough, as you say. Of course, that particular quote from the website could just as easily have been worded to the effect of:
After world leaders had spent 8 years pushing war in Ukraine and avoiding offers from Russia for negotiations to avoid war --and while those same world leaders pumped in BILLIONS of dollars of military weapons so that Ukraine could continue to bomb citizens in its own Russian-speaking regions-- Russia finally takes military action itself and invades Ukraine.
My concern goes a bit farther here. I understand why there is a need at Bethel to continue trying to identify and settle on a current candidate for the King of the North and the King of the South, but it strikes me as very arbitrary and shows a real lack of neutrality to make such statements as this in the article:
"Watch the video Fulfilled Prophecy—Daniel Chapter 11 to learn why Russia and its allies can be identified as the king of the north."

No - in your home you may try to talk to a perpetrator and get out of a bad situation (I have done it while in field service).  But taking a gun with intention to use it (because it can be fatal), is NOT following the loving teachings of Christ.  On the other hand - to join a national / political army - which has the function of killing at the command of another person who is following government orders (without personal discrimination) is taking sides with the beast.

ComfortMyPeople reacted to JW Insider in Revelation 12 : 6. 1260 days. Revelation 12 : 14. a time and times and half a time. 3½ times = 3½ years, of 360 days Prophetic calender
This is true, and as others have pointed out, this is the basis for turning the "7 times" of Daniel 4 into 2,520 days, rather than 2,557 days (7x365.25 = 2,556.75). Of course, since we claim that nothing very notable actually happened after 2,520 days, we look to see what might have happened if we use the a "prophetic formula" found in Numbers 14:34 and Ezekiel 4:6 to change that same number of days into years.
But, according to the Watchtower's teaching on this period, we don't stay consistent with a 360-day year. We quickly switch it up to a 365.25 day year, or full calendar year. That's because if we claimed that Daniel really meant 360 day years for the prophetic fulfillment, then we would only be able to reach from 607 BCE to about 1877 CE. Even if the Watchtower started counting from the correct date for the destruction of Jerusalem, it would only reach to about 1897.
The Watchtower actually doesn't give a good reason for switching from 360 to 365.25 when calculating the fulfillment of the prophecy, as you can see from the article that attempts to explain it.
    *** w64 12/15 p. 759 Why the Changes in World Governments Since 1914? ***
The year of the Jewish and Babylonian calendars varied in length from as low as 354 days to as high as 385 days. But in the Bible’s symbolic or prophetic “time,” or year, the number of days is fixed at 360. Seven of such years would be 7 X 360 = 2,520 days. This is corroborated by the statement in Revelation 12:6, 14, where it speaks of “a time and times and half a time” or three and one-half times, as 1,260 days. If we divide 1,260 by three and one-half (3.5), it gives us three hundred and sixty (360) days to a “time,” or year.
As to the greater length of time that these 2,520 days pictured, we find the rule of “a day for a year” in a prophecy of Ezekiel, who prophesied contemporaneously with Daniel and who also had the matter of “bands” connected with his prophecy. Another prophecy by Daniel with respect to the first coming of the Messiah, namely, the prophecy of the “seventy weeks,” is understood by Bible scholars to apply the same rule.—Ezek. 4:6; Dan. 9:24, 25. See also Numbers 14:34, which deals with a period of punishment or disfavor.
Therefore, the 2,520 days of the “seven times” would be 2,520 years in fulfillment. These years, in their fulfillment, would not be merely 360 days each, but full calendar years as we count them. For we must remember that the variation of the Jewish calendar was to adjust the lunar year to harmonize with the solar year. It could be termed a “soli-lunar” or “bound lunar” year. Days, or months, were inserted at intervals to make up the difference of approximately eleven days between the lunar and the solar year. By this means the seasons always fell in their proper place in the calendar. So their calendar would be almost exactly in line with the currently used Gregorian calendar. So the 2,520 years are to be counted as solar years.
    I don't think that's true. (It's possible though.)
The method of counting the number of days from one month to another would sometimes be rounded off to 30, even though half the Hebrew months contained 29 days. It was easier to count a very close estimate this way rather than use the true average of a Hebrew month which was 29.5 days. There are still legacy financial systems today that use this 30 day month estimation for calculations of bank interest and "time-value" of money. That's why Microsoft added the 360-day year formula to Microsoft Excel.

The Babylonians also built counting systems on multiples of 30 and 60, even though they were well aware of the need to keep adjusting their years between 354 days and 384 days to keep an average of 365. The Jews were aware of this too, which is why the apocryphal book of Enoch made so much of the fact that he lived to be 365, and Enoch gets the vision in this book about creating an ideal calendar based on 360, but with an extra day added to each of 4 "seasons" to bring a calendar close to 365.  Although priestly Jews may have tried to keep an "ideal" astronomical calendar to help them know when intercalary months should be added, the actual practical calendar in use by the Jewish people always made use of the day of the month., based on watching for certain phases of the moon.
This is true enough. But the Egyptians also knew that the real year contained 365.25 days. So they had a 5 day holiday every year, but didn't add a leap day every four years as we do for our modern calendar. You probably read things like this when you looked it up: https://www.infoplease.com/calendars/history/history-egyptian-calendar
About 4000 B.C. they added five extra days at the end of every year to bring it more into line with the solar year.1 These five days became a festival because it was thought to be unlucky to work during that time.
The Egyptians had calculated that the solar year was actually closer to 3651/4 days, but instead of having a single leap day every four years to account for the fractional day (the way we do now), they let the one-quarter day accumulate. ...
In addition to the civic calendar, the Egyptians also had a religious calendar that was based on the 291/2-day lunar cycle and was more closely linked with agricultural cycles and the movements of the stars.
There are a couple more 3.5 year periods that may have been seen in the first Christian century. There is nothing that definitively states that Jesus ministry was exactly 3.5 years. John evidently highlights a single year of Jesus' ministry. It's assumed to be 3.5 years as a fulfillment of Daniel's 70-weeks prophecy. There is also a potential 3.5 year period between the time of Jesus death/resurrection and the general opening up of the preaching work to the Gentiles. And there is another one possible from the time when Roman armies first encroached upon Jerusalem in 66 CE reaching up to the final destruction of Jerusalem and its Temple in 70 CE. Some Bible commentators try to make a lot out of this period, too, in discussing the meaning of Revelation.
Revelation may have also been making an allusion to a well known and necessary lesson about how earnest prayer gave the power to overcome 3.5 years of tribulation in Israel:
(James 5:17) 17 E·liʹjah was a man with feelings like ours, and yet when he prayed earnestly for it not to rain, it did not rain on the land for three years and six months.

Good question. The Jews would likely have continued using the standard Hebrew calendar that switched between 12-month years and 13-month years so that it would average 365.25 over time. They had been using this since Babylonian times or before, and Hillel says they continued to use this method even a couple hundred years after the first century.

I is theft to take another's intellectual property - period.  It is worse when they take that property to degrade you and mock you.  So I think it is not ok to do this - it is theft of the ugliest order.
This is why people are speaking out against the New world order hacking our brains with the technology they already have available ..... WEF see us as hackable animals.  This is where the world is going in future.  Would you like anyone to hack your brains, your health, your songs, your DNA, your videos to damage you?
This is not just a moral question with moral repercussions - it is also a legal one.  Has permission been given to use/ or hack it?
With technology today they can take your picture and make a deep fake video which speaks like you, looks like you, walks like you - such as they have done with several celebrities.  Would you like it if someone used your intellectual property to make a deep fake video of you participating in pornography or an illegal act against the government?  Or to parody you in a untruthful way - picture you as a transgender?

ComfortMyPeople got a reaction from Thinking in SECULAR EVIDENCE and NEO-BABYLONIAN CHRONOLOGY (Nebuchadnezzar, Cyrus, etc.)
This was a real case, in a kingdom hall. He was going to start the circuit overseer's talk. A little boy approached to say something to him and he, complacent, did as he attended, smiled and soon he got on the platform for his talk.
The overseer was surprised to see the faces of those seated in the front rows. They made gestures and signs with their faces, surreptitiously. In the end, he discovered the problem: he was wearing his trouser fly open.
The little one, as "he was at the right height" realized the problem, which no one else did. But, as I said before, the overseer ignored him. Too bad, it would have saved the embarrassment. The lesson: you learn from everyone, even the most seemingly insignificant.
I say all of the above because if even a little one can teach us, if we are humble enough, I have learned a lot from some of those who write in this forum. I am not ashamed to admit that I have learned a lot from @JW Insider. There are things that I don't quite understand because they are out of my reach, like all this enormous amount of technical information about chronology. And, by the way, in some things I disagree with him, although they are very few, really.
But I don't only value jwi posts. I have learned things too, and I have enjoyed reading those of many others, it would be unfair to quote them because it would leave me some.
Regarding Allen Smith aka CC and many more aliases. More than once you feel anger because some of us support the arguments of those who do not agree with you. The only answer I can give to people with your personality is this:

(Proverbs 26:4) . . .Do not answer @César Chávez according to his foolishness, So that you do not put yourself on his level.

The UN is a corporation created by the leaders after WW2 to bring peace and security to the world.  It has worked towards this goal since 1945 and made several agreements with 193 nations which now are binding. All are bound by UN Agenda 2030 which is the plan for year 2030. It is like an image or plan in front of all the nations.  JWs identify it as the "image of the beast" which is scarlet and full of blasphemous names (because it wants to replace the government of Jehovah - do what only Jehovah has the power to do, to unite the entire globe and bring peace).  It looks just like the seven headed beast because the seventh head of the beast (anglo american worldpower and false prophet ) inspired its life.) The UN is an extension of the beast out of the sea. ... the world political system.
Most countries received money from the world bank or IMF (other corporations which work in tandem with the UN)  during these Covid times to pay for Covid 'sleevers" and most of the loans were predatory  which required full compliance with the UN goals - including the WHO..... which is the UN health organization .... also a corporation funded by other big corporations.  When USA withdrew their money from the WHO (under trump) the biggest donor turned out to be Gates foundation with all his other health alliances such as GAVI.  Central banks are corporations working with the UN and financed by old money. They want to institute the central banks as the only banks in future.... run with a central database which is already under construction.
Many of the billionaires have charity foundations which sponsor UN goals and also sponsor NGOs and corporations in alliance with their goals -  it grows their billions into trillions because these corporations do their bidding.  These billionaires pay very little taxes to governments and their charity foundations get billions from governments to provide charity work in other countries such as vaccination programs etc. Their charities are like slush funds because they can spend their profits on furthering their own goals and world (UN goals)
The UN gained teeth when Billionaires started funding NGOs to promote UN plans in every country at local level.... negating the  federal laws in every country.  Land reform and reform for the environment has been pushed through over the last 20 years. Now they are removing all borders and other nationalistic ideas to create one world order as planned.  They want one mindset - obedience to their goals which will later also incorporate unconditional obedience to the beast (worship of the beast). The WEF two years ago (which comprises the richest global companies in the globe)_ came on board and during Covid has pushed through the "great reset" which is also in line with UN agenda 2030.
There are additional goals the WEF is pushing - such as the 4th industrial revolution which is also part of the US government goals.  This is why people like Schmidt and Kurzweil are now in key positions in the new government.  They will bring in the new transhumanist goals where human evolution is no longer left to natural selection but artificial MRNA and other therapies will take humankind into the new future where they will direct human evolution themselves.....
Bible prophecy going into exact fulfillment. Things are going their way quite nicely.  Those that do not comply when they bring in the digital world ... those will not only be left behind but may be removed from society. All kinds of pressures will be exerted to get all humans to comply.......

Instead of acknowledging what Srecko is saying about continuity, you are treating it as if it's a trick question. Like asking if Muhammed Ali ever won a boxing match against Sonny Liston. The answer is yes and no. His name was Cassius Clay when he fought Sonny Liston.
In the same way, yes, I know many Jehovah's Witnesses who celebrated Christmas before they were baptized, and I even knew a few Jehovah's Witnesses at Brooklyn Bethel who celebrated Christmas after they were baptized, but before they called themselves by the name Jehovah's Witnesses. In fact, I was once in the same room with at least three of them where they had celebrated Christmas 49 years earlier. But I have never known any Witnesses who celebrated Christmas after they began calling themselves Jehovah's Witnesses.
Since Srecko was talking about the continuity of the teachings of the Watchtower Society he appears to have meant this idea in much the same way that the Watchtower means it when it uses some of the following types of expressions, and these are just a few examples out of many more:
    *** w98 9/15 p. 32 The War That Destroyed the 19th Century ***
For over 120 years, Jehovah’s Witnesses have pointed to 1914 as the end of what Jesus called “the appointed times of the nations.”
    *** w65 7/1 p. 394 par. 9 Plaguing the Modern “Egyptians” with Truth ***
While all seven annual messages sounded by Jehovah’s witnesses from 1922 to 1928 concluded with such appeals, it was particularly the Resolution of 1927, passed at their international assembly in Toronto, Canada, that highlighted this feature
    *** w91 4/1 p. 7 Is It Later Than You Think? ***
Since 1914, however, Jehovah’s Witnesses have done that, in spite of the persecution Jesus foretold—government bans, mob violence, imprisonments, torture, and many deaths.
In 1919 there were 4,000 of Jehovah’s Witnesses preaching this good news.
    *** w78 6/1 p. 23 par. 11 Co-Workers in the Harvest ***
In 1918 . . . the leading members of the Governing Body of Jehovah’s Witnesses were railroaded off to the penitentiary for a 20-year imprisonment. In the eyes of their enemies they appeared as unburied corpses.
    *** w83 2/15 p. 11 A Notable Annual Meeting ***
. L. A. Swingle reviewed the worldwide expansion of Jehovah’s Witnesses, from 3,868 publishers in 1918 to the more than 2,300,000 today.
    *** w81 5/1 p. 17 par. 2 If God Has an Organization, What Is It? ***
At the same time, particularly since the year 1922, Jehovah’s Witnesses have been efficiently organized for fulfilling the prophecy of Jesus
    *** w80 10/1 p. 28 par. 16 After These “Last Days” God’s Messianic Kingdom! ***
What Jehovah’s Witnesses have preached world wide since 1918 is something unique,
    *** w09 5/1 p. 22 Brooklyn Bethel—100 Years of History ***
THE year 1909 was a momentous one . . . It was also a momentous year for Jehovah’s Witnesses. Earlier, Charles Taze Russell, president of the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society, the legal arm of Jehovah’s Witnesses, had seen the potential for expanding the preaching of the good news of God’s Kingdom.
    *** w01 1/15 p. 29 How the Governing Body Differs From a Legal Corporation ***
The International Bible Students Association is used in Britain [in 2001].
    *** w01 1/15 p. 30 How the Governing Body Differs From a Legal Corporation ***
Especially noteworthy was 1931 when the Bible Students adopted the name Jehovah’s Witnesses.
    *** w55 3/1 p. 141 Part 5—The Warning Work (1909-1914) ***
To hold this new property in New York state and to do business as a recognized religious body within this state it was necessary to form a New York corporation. Such corporation came into legal existence February 23, 1909, as decreed by New York Supreme Court Justice Isaac N. Miller. PEOPLES PULPIT ASSOCIATION was its name for thirty years. Then in 1939 that was legally changed to its present name, WATCHTOWER BIBLE AND TRACT SOCIETY, INC., similar to that of the Pennsylvania corporation, WATCH TOWER BIBLE AND TRACT SOCIETY.

This history is all very interesting. But it's too easy to make statements that aren't exactly accurate, even though you are making them for the good purpose of counteracting someone else's statements that are inaccurate in another way.
For example, your quoted statement above would appear to be "off" a bit, highly oversimplified. At least, that is, if you trust the WTS wording of the charter of the original WTBTS (of PA) and compare it with the charter of the People's Pulpit (which was renamed the WTBTS of New York). The WTS also said that the initial purpose of the Peoples Pulpit was simply to own property in NY, which wasn't covered under the charter of the WTBTS of Pennsylvania.
Most people don't have the time or desire to look into any of these matters too deeply, so it's good not to oversimplify too much when trying to make a point about the technical differences and relationships between Bible Students and Jehovah's Witnesses.
If one wanted to be even more technical, Rutherford never believed it was right to speak of the "great crowd" of "other sheep" as Jehovah's Witnesses. After all, initially at least, they were "fools."
The “great multitude” class ... have been fools, and so called by the Scriptures, ... These claim to be the people of God and convince themselves that they are; but they are foolish. (WT 10/15/1931 p.311)
At that time the . . . “other sheep” were not considered to be “Jehovah’s witnesses.”—See The Watchtower, August 15, 1934 ... (WT 2/15/1966 p.120)
Even in 1931, the Great Crowd was still considered a heavenly class who would not come through the great tribulation, but would have to die, and be resurrected as spirit beings. The WT "proved" this from Revelation 7:14. They were to be a class of heavenly beings but lower than the "little flock" because they had been negligent of their consecration and lost out on the higher calling.
The “great multitude” or “tribulation” class ... will not be spared in the great time of
trouble, but, on the contrary, they are appointed to die; . . . they will fall. (Zech. 14: 2) They will not be carried through the time of trouble. They will be forced into the time of trouble . . . but must die in order to live as spirit creatures. (WT 9/1/1931 p.262)
In 1934, the "remnant" who were the only ones called "Jehovah's WItnesses" would survive Armageddon, but the "great multitude" would NOT survive Armageddon, although the Jonadab class would survive.
The faithful remnant . . .will survive Armageddon. ... The “great multitude” ["great crowd"] will not survive Armageddon, ... God’s promise is to preserve a remnant, and not a vast multitude. The “great multitude” are appointed to die. The Scriptures also show that the Jonadab class will survive Armageddon. (WT 3/15/1934 p.92)
Today, of course, the Jonadab class is understood to have been the great multitude, who WILL survive Armageddon, and it's now the faithful remnant who will NOT survive Armageddon as humans (per recent information repeated at the Annual Meeting by Brother Herd).
It was in August 1935 when the Jonadabs became the Great Crowd (great multitude), but were still not counted as Jehovah's Witnesses. They had been specifically told in the WT that they were not even invited to attend the Memorial celebration because they were not Jehovah's Witnesses. (Finally invited in 1938.) They weren't even considered members of the organization because they did not bear the "official name."
Those who form the great multitude are appointed to places of service in the Lord’s organization although they are not members of the organization. (WT 8/15/1937 p.239)
But it wasn't until well after Rutherford died, when the January 15, 1946 Watchtower finally included the "other sheep" as "Jehovah's Witnesses."
Just saying there are a lot of nuances in the transition of beliefs (and naming conventions) during the times of Russell, Rutherford and Knorr/Franz.
