In 2017, the same - Open club and JW members had Closed club. But people, JW people too, participate very much in Open club, because it is more interesting :))

If the GB want to show that they are aware of their "own limitations" (like S. Lett's Jesus), then, the JW’s should only have one 10 minute lecture (basically reading the Bible text) per week or month in the assembly and the rest of the time they should sing and laugh.

And only one issue of WT magazine in a year. Preferable would be Awake with articles about animal and nature to praise Creator .

Thank you again. I've just listened to David Splaine's talk and wow, what a slick tongue he has.
He misused the scripture at Matthew 5 : 25
25  “Be quick to settle matters with your legal opponent, while you are with him on the way there, so that somehow the opponent may not turn you over to the judge, and the judge to the court attendant, and you get thrown into prison.
Splaine was obviously refering to court cases involving CSA which they have settled out of court. But those cases have been settled after the Victim had taken the Org to court.
Another thing Splaine said, and it's there on that video, is that a judge may have 'been paid under the table' to judge against them. Wow, that is strong stuff from a GB member to suggest.
This talk obviously shows how worried the GB are about JWs getting hold of the truth about the Watchtower / JW Org.  They are worried about truthful negitive reports, and there are lots of those Earthwide.
    ----------------------------------------------------------------
On the other side of things, a 'man of colour', I think his name is William Turner, gave a good talk about the Kingdom. I think it's in the Sunday morning session.  He didn't mention any 'date'. He didn't mention being part of the Org. The talk was purely about how we know the Kingdom is real. Fabulous talk.  A couple of things i got from it were : Gods promises always come true, and, Having faith in the Good News. The scriptures he used proved what he was saying. A nice, easy to understand, truthful talk.
Such a contrast to the talk Splaine gave.

I believe they are well on their way.
That term fits the organization's leaders, perfectly.
    ‘Two things I ask of you, Lord;
do not refuse me before I die:
    8 keep falsehood and lies far from me;
give me neither poverty nor riches,
but give me only my daily bread.
9 Otherwise, I may have too much and disown you
and say, “Who is the Lord?”
Or I may become poor and steal,
and so dishonour the name of my God.  Prov 30:7,8

"For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.’
41 At this the Jews there began to grumble about him because he said, ‘I am the bread that came down from heaven.’
Very truly I tell you, the one who believes has eternal life. 48 I am the bread of life. 49 Your ancestors ate the manna in the wilderness, yet they died. 50 But here is the bread that comes down from heaven, which anyone may eat and not die. 51 I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats this bread will live for ever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.’"  John 6

According to Robert Hendriks III, this move is showing "love for one's neighbor", the very people that are to die a gruesome death in Armageddon - those who will be "weeping and gnashing their teeth".  What a conundrum.
So many hours spent, following the rules of men who change their mind when it suits their purpose.
    Their purpose today?

David Splane Convention talks does not support humility.
"Media Reports are often carefully worded to avoid a lawsuit", he said .....I guess lawsuit by WTJWorg Lawyers against freedom of speech of ex-JW or CSA victims or other who speak how WTJWorg practice in some life situations is wrong.
He talks about the fact that not everyone who is convicted and punished "by man" is also guilty (because God does not think he is guilty) .... so then switch to the topic that if someone reads how an individual or organization is sued, then settle the matter out of court. Settling out of court does not mean someone is guilty, he says.
Well, then he says a jury is a bunch of ignorant people who know nothing about law. The jury, he says, does not always have access to all the facts, because judges and lawyers decide what to present to them.
Splane concludes that neither party, (the plaintiff's and the defendant's lawyers), want the whole truth to be known and visible in court.
Accordingly, he said in fact also this:  WTJWorg lawyers don’t want to give all the truth to the Court, to the jury, to the public. And this in fact means:  WTJWorg lawyers don't want to give justice to the victim.
And "the public" are both group, so called worldly people and JW members. With this Convention talk he gives to JW members and public a big fat lie as "proper food in proper time".
Yes, David Splane's "preaching service" from door to door of every person who opened the door of their home with the click of a finger on the jworg website, fulfilled the prophecy of Jesus.

WTJWorg has always expressed pride that the only real preaching service is when JWs go from house to house, and that some other forms of service are only ancillary or rare exceptions if a JW member is sick or bedridden.
COVID is an interesting phenomenon. The whole World stopped, "God's Chariot" stopped. But WTJWorg buys and sells, builds and plants ... as people (who didn't pay attention) did before the Flood.

It's interesting to read these comments because it does make sense from both sides. Most 'boots on the ground' JWs are nice humble 'ordinary' people. Having been a JW in different congregations, I've known some nice people. Generally not the Elders though. Most Elders I've met have been unplesant.
So, @Thinking are you saying that at one time you had to preach / teach something that you did not actually believe ? This isn't a trick question, it's taken from your own words as I've quoted above.
The 'eating humble pie' is sometimes a good thing. I've been 'shot down' by SM many times of late, and in most cases he is right. So in my prayer to God at night I feel very guilty and find it hard to pray. Each day I'm realising that I'm more imperfect than I'd like to be.
On this question of "had to be a baptised witness to survive", has there been a definite change in the Watchtower / JW Org teaching on this matter ?  I'll have to try and research that.
@Srecko Sostar I haven't yet managed to listen to this Convention. What day was this talk on please ? I'd be interested in hearing it. Settling out of court does not mean someone is guilty, he says. But when that settlement includes the forced instruction that the Victim is not allowed to talk about the court case or accusation. When the victim has to agree to keep quiet then it's known as 'Hush money'.  It's no longer compensation, it becomes a payment to the victim to order them not to tell the truth to anyone.
That is when we see the big difference between the 'boots on the ground' JWs, and the Governing Body and their lawyers.
My apologies to @Jack Ryan as we seem to have taken this off topic.

Maybe what Rando is doing is just an overreaction, similar to the ones about 1914, 1918/19, 1925, 1941, 1975 and everything/all other after that?

Certainly, people will eat, drink, marry, build and plant. Some/many of them will be struck by trouble, because trouble is a part of life in the world as we know it. Some of the troubles that have happened or are happening today, have been / are at the local or even global area / level. This allows for interpretations / overreactions followed by disappointments many times over.

It is interesting that just as I was about to respond to the comment @BroRando made under the heading, "Like the Days of Noah", the topic was suddenly closed to further comments.  However, I will respond here.
Quote @BroRando - "Therefore the prophecy, "It puts under compulsion all people—the small and the great, the rich and the poor, the free and the slaves—that these should be marked on their right hand or on their forehead, and that nobody can buy or sell except a person having the mark, the name of the wild beast or the number of its name" at (Rev 13:16-17) will have come in Full Force. A door to door enforcement if need be."
"Have you dedicated your life to Jehovah and symbolized your dedication by baptism in water? If you have, that is wonderful! Do you remember when the brother giving the baptism talk asked whether you had dedicated yourself to Jehovah and understood that “your dedication and baptism identify you as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses”? When you answered yes, everyone present knew that you had dedicated your life and were qualified to be baptized as an ordained minister of Jehovah. You must have made Jehovah very happy! " ws17 April p. 7
    Baptism questions as of 2019:
“Have you repented of your sins, dedicated yourself to Jehovah, and accepted his way of salvation through Jesus Christ?”

    (2) “Do you understand that your baptism identifies you as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in association with Jehovah’s organization?””
A mark is a symbol of identification.  In the symbolic book of Revelation, “buying and selling” has nothing to do with literal commerce.  It has to do with the restricted spiritual commerce that your organization demands.  (Rev 13:16,17)
JWs receive a “mark”/identification at the time of baptism, that affects their spiritual activities from then on.  Your leaders demand full devotion to their teachings only.  In exchange for your servitude to the Beast/organization, you receive your spiritual food - doctrine, lies - which you then distribute to others.  Anyone who rejects this identifying mark, can be disfellowshipped - symbolically, spiritually, "killed".  Rev 13:15
The mark we are to bear should identify our devotion to God and His Son only. God’s word in Jesus Christ is the only mark we should accept on our heart and in our mind.  (Deut 6:6,8)
JWs wear proudly, the mark of the Beast, which is idolatry.  (Ps 106:20; Hos 4:7; Rom 1:25; Rev 13:4)

The manner and purpose of conducting a “Bible study” with people interested in the JW religion is not to get to know how the WT Society came into being, it is not the history of the Organization as a Corporation.
The purpose of “studying” is to reject “wrong” religious or secular ideologies and to fully accept WTJWorg theology. Some details of the Organization's historical transitions can be found in other WTJWorg publications, but comprehensive and/or complete insight cannot be gained by reading a single book that would provide a complete historical overview with all the details. After all, history is written by “winners”. And that most often means that the truth will be distorted or significantly changed.
    PS
"Proclaimers" book, for example, dealing with historical overview of Corporation. But is not available on every language and by that not for every JW member in the World. Even if it is available on language of some JW member that would not mean she/he would read it and find some gaps and questions about Organization.
For sure they will not find "diagram" as showed here.

And you presume that people studying the Bible with JWs were ever taught this ?
Well not here in the UK. not back in the 1960's / 70's.
Do you think this is taught in Kingdom Halls or via vidoe link now ?
The JW teaching was, and probably still is, that it was a smooth transition from Rusell to Rutherford then to the JW org.
I don't think you gave a link as to where this diagram came from., but I see it's on Wikipedia....

I went to followthemoney.org after seeing your post and came up with the same info as in the video.  But, by the powers that be, any reference to the Watchtower Society is now gone.  Take from it what you will.  The organization has hidden its sins, its hypocrisy...its true dealings in the world, for a number of years, and it will continue to make a hard effort to do so, until God exposes every crack in its walls.  No longer will they be able to whitewash over them.  Ezekiel 13

    Who are the Bible Students?"
The association of International Bible Students has existed continuously since the days of Pastor Charles Taze Russell to the present. In Brother Russell's day, the IBSA was a cooperative association of Bible Student congregations worldwide, all united by the common beliefs taught in Brother Russell's Studies in the Scriptures series. The Watchtower was merely a publishing house and lecture service, with NO central control over these thousands of associated, but independent congregations.
I presume this is out of date then ?

What I seem to notice is that JWs (or pretend JWs) will use outside information when it suits them, and discard outside information when it does not fit with their ideas.
Now regarding 2034. Surely it does not matter how many people have 'come to this conclusion' ?  Firstly, why are people needing to find a date ?  And why would JWs need to trust the words of 'worldly' men or men of other 'faiths' ?
At this point I would question, is 2034 a Watchtower / JW Org teaching, or is it just a Rando teaching ?
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Are you suggesting that JWs have only 'true' information ?  This, you see, is an important matter.
The Watchtower / JW org is truthful on some matters, but that does not mean they are honest in all things. However the general consensus on this forum is that if a person leaves the JW Org, then they have left God, or left the 'truth'.
So, are you saying that none of the Watchtower / JW Org teachings can be 'misinformation' ?
Are you saying that the Governing Body of the Watchtower can not have 'misconceptions' ?

Yes, by @JW Insider references, Russell tied himself up in knots with dates, predictions and then doubts about it all.
But quite funny that Russell thought that people would still be reading his books now. The International Bible Students which still exist, seem to support Russell I think.
Since Rutherford started the new organisation of the JWs there must have been a hundred books written by them, most of which have now been removed. They keep saying they have 'new light'.
So, is 2034 'new light' or just some peoples dream ?

And what do you think this has to do with me ?
I have not denied Almighty God or Jesus Christ.  I study God's written word and also pray to him.
I have strong faith in God through Christ. And I do not guess at dates that are none of my business.
I do not try to mislead others. I am not after followers for myself.
The fact that I give warning about the JW Org having Pedophiles in it, and that Child Sexual Abuse takes place in it, this cannot be a bad warning to people.
And the fact that I do not believe your GB are the F&DS has no bearing on my love for God or Christ.
Jesus made a point of telling His disciples not to make names for themselves and not to place themselves above others.
Unfortunately you seem to think that the Watchtower/JW Org replace God and Christ. You seem to be worshipping your  Organisations and your GB, or pretendig to do so.
I do wonder if you are actually a JW at all. Or if you are deliberately trying to bring shame on that Organisation. That is exactly what Billythe Kid and others tried to do, and Billy also used  this way of trying to condemn me.
