He stands in opposition and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he sits down in the temple of God, publicly showing himself to be a god.
This has to be the GB of JW Org. They have exalted themselves above every other human on this earth. Above all of the true Anointed. Even to a point above Jesus Christ.

What is the "temple of God"?
"sits" -  "to make, to sit down, to set, appoint, to confer a kingdom on one"
Something/someone is exalting itself over the temple of God.  If you know what the temple of God is, then you can determine the identity of the man of lawlessness.

Quote @TrueTomHarley  This does not happen.
I would not say that it never ever happens
Tom you are sooo funny. Srecko saw it too.   And as for you talking about a JW made / GB made video, well what use is that ?
The GB / JW org make videos for their own purposes, to twist reality.   Children get thrown out of homes regularly, but it should not be that way with JW's.
Even my brother who is an Elder threw his youngest daughter out. She was actually homeless on the streets for a while. She is now happily married, out of the Org, and doing fine. When judgement comes, who knows, Jesus has the authority to judge not us.
My 25 year old son is a Punk rocker, mohawk hairstyle, leather jacket with rude words all over it,  he even gets two pairs of jeans of different colours and swaps one leg from each to make strange looking jeans, he's getting good at sewing now :). My point is he mixes with a lot of people that live on the streets and many of them were thrown out as teenagers. it's a common thing here in UK, so maybe JW's don't worry about it either, they just do it.
But when you push a person out into the world you push them into fighting for survival as best they can. A homeless person here in UK, with no address, cannot get a job and cannot claim any benefit. The common thing is, the boys deal drugs, the girls sell themselves, sex for cash. Would you chuck you children out on the streets to live like that ?

No crime TTH. :)) WT Society Literature reflecting, also, various sorts of morality through doctrinal teachings changes.
Especially this is interesting with flip-flop instructions. In one period of time JW members moral is good under one sort of instruction, but when different, opposite instruction about same thing come to power, than JW members, who lived and made action according to First Instruction, has not been "moral" person in his/her past.  :))

If memory serves (?) that scripture also says "In my Holy Mountain" or something like that.
In the world at large, animals have to eat each other, or in the New World, we will be deluged by a half-mile high Tsunami of ravenous rodents, etc., ad infinitum.
Animals can be trained to live together in peace and harmony ... I see something like that between my five dogs and 16 chickens ....but if I fed my dogs straw ... all bets are off.

And when you tell them that this would be the diet of animals in the new system, they say that one can look at the carnivorous teeth and see that the animals were made to eat meat.   But those teeth can rip apart tree branches and other hard materials too, and grip anything they need to pull.
I like to put Genesis 1:29, 30  and Isaiah 11: 6,7,and 9 to show that the animals will no longer eat one another or people, but people always find fault with it.

    *** Bible Citations ***
(Isaiah 11: 6-7) 6 The wolf will reside for a while with the lamb, And with the young goat the leopard will lie down, And the calf and the lion and the fattened animal will all be together; And a little boy will lead them.  7 The cow and the bear will feed together, And their young will lie down together. The lion will eat straw like the bull.

In the "next town over"  Congregation one Elder had two daughters, who got multiple Tattoos, (shoulder and base of spine), and Dad threw them out ( I do not know the age, but one of my sons dated the older  Sister, while he was in High School.....),  The younger sister was "lost" to the world, the older one came back and married an Elder about 40 years older than she was.. (raised eyebrows and astonishment all the way around...).
When speaking about people ... there is truly INFINITE variety.

I didn't go to the convention, but I can summarize what it may have been about and not what I learned but what I already know.
Love your neighbor as yourself, unless your neighbor professes to be a Christian.
You must love the governing body just as much as you love Jehovah, because they are Jehovah in a sense.
No one else on earth has as much love as jehovahs witnesses.
Kicking a 15 year old out of your house because they got baptized at 6 years old and started to question the governing body is the most loving thing you can do for your child.
Jehovahs love for you is conditional on you loving the governing body.

Srecko Sostar reacted to JOHN BUTLER in JW’s are now allowed to have beards and publicly preach....
@Anna There is a  'lady' here in Sidmouth Devon, (here where i live) and she has dreadlocks and beard growth. She is rather rotund and scruffily dressed. She's an antiques dealer so we have known her through the trade, she speaks quite posh. She immediately came to mind when you mentioned 'sisters with a beard'.
But back on topic. I had to laugh at your sentences 2 and 3.
Quote 2. You can do what you want. 3. You will just be limited in what privileges you get in some congregations
This falls apart for two reasons. 1. it is like blackmail. 2. the system should be exactly the same in every congregation earthwide. Otherwise the Org is basing it's decisions on the 'traditions of men'
There is no scriptural reason why any man in JW Org should not have a beard. So as i say it then becomes 'traditions of men'.

What's this about allowed/not allowed to have a beard? You can do what you want. You will just be limited in what privileges you get in some congregations. So it's up to you. Thankfully sisters don't have beard restrictions. A sister with a beard can still pioneer 😀

Dear Sir, I see no scriptures to support your words, yet you are telling me I need to focus on the Bible itself.     What I do notice is if I speak against a WT lie, you tend to support the lie as truth.  You tend to support the GB and the organization.    In this case, the WT tells the truth about who “Israel” is, since they have successfully captivated and surrounded the camp of “saints” with their lies. Col 2:8; Rev 13:1,5-7,10,11; 16:13,14; 20:9 The only way to draw prey, is with a little truth.  Amos 3:5; Rev 8:10-11
It is interesting that in this case of Watchtower teachings, the truth about who spiritual “Israel” is, you are calling a lie.

    Jesus’ names and descriptive roles:
    The Logos/Word
    Michael (“Who Is Like God?”)
    Savior
    Master
    Bread of Life
    Faithful and True
Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace…the light of the world.

    The role/names of Satan:
    Deceiver
    Father of the Lie
    the Destroyer
    Murderer
Dragon, Apollyon, Accuser, Leviathan….the ruler of darkness.
I have not watered down Jesus’ role whatsoever. But, to say Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace, is the Destroyer, is blasphemy.
Again, you show no scriptures to prove otherwise, while I already have. You appear not to see the distinction between light and darkness, evil and good, life and death.   The two do not mix.
Don’t become partners with those who do not believe. For what partnership is there between righteousness and lawlessness? Or what fellowship does light have with darkness? 15 What agreement does Christ have with Belial? 2 Cor 6:14,15a

But you were the one who initiated, therefore, this tells you were both lied, and in the wrong.
Your own claims are forfeit because there were merely lies, more so, satanic lies in the face of the good book itself.
So next time, do not start a debate and succumb to the cowards way out, it is both a disrespect and a dishonor to those who uphold debate such as myself.
And no verse concerning The snake preaching the gospel of the Christ nor speaking of their own will.
And no verse concerning The snake preaching the gospel of the Christ nor speaking of their own will.

And no verse concerning The rock and or stone preaching the gospel of the Christ nor speaking of their own will.
    Ok let's see it then.
lol, a gentlemen's effort, who has been revealed to be a fool with his own folly.
Granted both context and the references, of which we find from Isaiah and Hosea, it makes your simplicity depravity easily discern.
More so, you were mixing things before and during the Christ, so how will this add up when Isaiah and Hosea, as references to that verse holds steadfast?
And in the end the gospel is not professed by animals.
Ironic, this is some advise you yourself should be applying to the full.
Also I see you used the CEV Bible.
Granted this is debate and in debates some can go unhinged and or go all out, I can honesty say, that this was indeed a stupid move done by a stupid person on your part granted with the evidence against you and the fact all your claims are both ignorant and slander.
I uphold what the Bible says, so no complains. My problem is with lairs, stupid persons, fools, willful ignorance, etc. And you fit all tabs.
Yes you are just the reader, but as a reader, one must take in what is being conveyed, not with the AS IS mentally you tap dance to, it will never work.
Perhaps you should "speak with the stones outside of your home and consult with them concerning this
For the Bible is true concerning those who hear God's Word and wants to make public declaration by means of their own decision. The Bible is clear on the things that
That being said, I suggest you take your own advise:

Perhaps next time remember this - Do not start a debate with someone who actually does debates and enjoys them. Because debaters can go all out and or unhinged if need be, especially if they are the one who began and or is given the challenge.

Of course, there was that "God-damned" snake in the grass back in Eden. It was cursed to crawl on the ground and lick the dust with its [forked] tongue.
Then there were those pigs that allowed themselves to be possessed by demons, and were driven to commit suicide.
Certain animals might have listened to communication from God to be able to receive a name from Adam. The same could be said for the animals that listened to communication from God to get on Noah's ark. Or for ravens to find Elijah to bring him food. Or, perhaps even a big fish who nearly snacked on Jonah. And there's that special relationship between Jehovah and Leviathan and Behemoth.
God gives animals "meat in due season" (food at the proper time):
(Psalm 104:27) . . .All of them wait for you To give them their food in its season. And a donkey evidently saved a man's life by ascertaining an invisible angel.
On a serious note, I think most people agree that many persons have an unbalanced view of pets. But it's also easy to get unbalanced in the direction of disdaining pets and animals. Remember that Jehovah himself rejoices at his works which obviously includes his many interactions with animals according to the context of Psalm 104.
(Psalm 104:28-31) . . .What you give them, they gather. When you open your hand, they are satisfied with good things. 29 When you hide your face, they are disturbed. If you take away their spirit, they die and return to the dust. 30 If you send out your spirit, they are created, And you renew the surface of the ground. 31 The glory of Jehovah will last forever. Jehovah will rejoice in his works.

Very simple, and it agrees with everything else we know from any source ....
1.) The Earth formed about 3.5 billion years ago.
2.) The account in Genesis is based on the viewpoint of a person standing ON THE SURFACE of the Earth, watching things going on.  (This might be a good time to stop, and re-read the creation account from that particular perspective.)
    3. If  creation of the Earth took six days, and we are in the 7th day now ... it's a simple matter to determine how long a creative day including the day of rest,  is.
Divide 3.5 billion years, by 7.
That means each creative day was 500 million years long, and we are now 6,000 or so years into the 7th, 500 million year "day of rest".
This idea agrees with all the science we know, and the Biblical account, as would have been observed by a person standing on the surface of the Earth, which at that time was completely molten, and covered in superheated steam, which is invisible until it condenses.

1.)  Since the beginning of life on Earth there have been two kinds of animals .... those that eat plants, and those that eat each other.  This is the natural order of things, and as sentimental as I am about animals, I cannot ignore this scary fact.
That is obviously how life on Earth was designed, cartoon theology notwithstanding.
If the Lion, and the Lamb lay down together, it will be because the lamb is inside the lion.
To answer your question ... it was never God's intent to give animals everlasting life, and that includes pre- creation humans that evolved. Only the New Creation ... "Homo Theocraticus", was ever intended to have the opportunity for everlasting life.  Neanderthals and such just lived whatever they could manage and died. End of story.
2.) That is a good idea, not to provide an answer, because the very, very BEST answer would only be a best guess ... including no. 1, above.

Possibility exist, but no Bible verse speaking about this idea, known to me, in that way. No Bible report exist about what Adam knew about death or about some other things.
This is also just in sphere of our interpretations. :)) and on our conclusions about what they ,supposedly, see, know, understand etc, .... based on our own experiences and/or based on conclusions made by people lived before us.
Where and when JHVH promised Adam such thing, everlasting life ? He promised him/them dead if eating fruit. We don't know what JHVH "promised" to animal :)) .... at loud or in His own Thoughts.
Because they not sinned :)) They not sinned because some other laws ran their living.

To me, 1 Tim 6:20 seems more related to the so-called knowledge that comes from inside the congregation, because this would be consistent with the prior context of 1 Timothy. The idea of falsely called wisdom from the outside is referred to especially in the first three chapters of 1 Corinthians, which @Outta Here referred to. Not that the idea is wrong, but bringing up 1 Tim 6:20 in the context of something that the JW Organization should be particularly good at seems wrong to me. That's because I believe it refers to something that SHOULD be a pet peeve of every Witness about a particular habit of the Watchtower writers that continues to get us in trouble.
We very often, historically, have made claims about certain interpretations of the scriptures that are completely unnecessary, and which turn out to be things that we end up dropping when the contradictions to actual events or other scriptures become too untenable to stretch belief any further. I could relist every single teaching which has had to be updated to make this point.
But each of those interpretations was treated as knowledge when it was taught. Even though they turned out to be false, and required updating. Just because we like to avoid the word false, and call it "refinements" or "increasing light" changes nothing about the falsehood of the previously called knowledge.
But spiritual food does not have a shelf life. Those false teachings were never spiritual food to begin with. There has NEVER been a reason to turn a specific interpretation into "knowledge."

Yeah .... I had to give up bacon many years ago, because I just could not afford it ... or would not afford it because the price was so high ... and MANY foods escalated in price to the point I stopped buying them.   But Golden Corral Buffet has a TREMENDOUS selection, and my wife and I are "Seniors", and if we get there before 4PM, we can get the dinner menu for the price of a "Senior Lunch/Early Bird Special".
That means that for $9.00 apiece, we can feast like kings ... steak, spare ribs, giant shrimp prepared four different ways, pizza, fried chicken, chili, beef stew, clam chowder ( my favorite...), and before 4pm we get free soft drinks, as well. Every kind of desert you could want, and any kind of salads you could fix. Eight different kinds of fruit,  and all the real, quality ice cream you can eat!
I calculated that by eating one large meal a day, we can eat like kings for $10 a day apiece, which is less than the cost of groceries to eat half as well,  AAAAAAND ... no preparation, OR dishes to wash!
Even including the fuel cost to get there and back,, it's cheaper.
    ..and light years better!

Not sure about the reason for bringing this up either, but it's best not to claim that the Watchtower taught no such thing.

Curiously, something akin to what JTR has brought up was discussed, but dismissed in a 1902 Watchtower. Note that this first part is about Cain, not Canaan:
      p.211-212

However, it did not dismiss some other racist notions in the same article, p.215-216:

    ...

    ...

And one might wonder why Russell's more correct view was dropped under Rutherford, when the Watch Tower published the following in the 1920 Golden Age, page 241:

Why praise Jehovah's fixed laws, if there never was a fixed law of God against interracial marriage? Russell had pointed out that even Moses had a "negro" wife In the 1902 Watch Tower article quoted above:

In fact, the article you quoted (Melinda) from 1982 points out that the Catholic Church stayed with such a viewpoint until about 1872, but fails to mention that the Watch Tower publications said very similar things until about 1929. (The Watchtower even brought up on a couple of occasions how Jehovah, in the new system, could arrange for black skin to change to white.)
    *** g82 2/8 p. 15 The Races—What Is Their Origin? ***
And for centuries the Catholic Church taught that Negroes were a cursed race. John F. Maxwell states in his book Slavery and the Catholic Church that this view “apparently survived until 1873 when Pope Pius IX attached an indulgence to a prayer for the ‘wretched Ethiopians in Central Africa that almighty God may at length remove the curse of Cham [Ham] from their hearts.’”
And, just another idea from Rutherford's time, that the author of the book "Uncle Tom's Cabin" was unduly influenced by evil spirits and the Devil himself in the writing of such a book (which was tremendously successful in promoting abolition, and ultimately helped the black slaves gain freedom):
    p.140-2
