Rumor has it that the problem in the Montana court case that produced a 34 million dollar judgment against the Watchtower (to be appealed) made it very easy for the jury to agree. It was because the local elders had destroyed so much of the paperwork, but that the S77 form that they sent to the WTS had said explicitly that they were able to disfellowship him without any report to the authorities (in a state where it is illegal not to report). Unfortunately the WTS had attached a note to the returned copy for the local file saying, in effect, 'Good job.'
This is why the judgment was based on a percentage of the supposed value of the WTS itself.

JOHN BUTLER got a reaction from Melinda Mills in Paradise earth or Paradise in Heaven?
9  “You must pray, then, this way:“‘Our Father in the heavens, let your name be sanctified. Let your Kingdom come. Let your will take place, as in heaven, also on earth.
After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.10Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Depending on which Bible you chose, but basically it say the same thing. I think this shows what we would look forward to if we serve God properly. I for my part have no interest in going to heaven.
And as S.M. says, God's original purpose was for mankind to live here on this planet Earth and that purpose will be fulfilled.

JOHN BUTLER reacted to Space Merchant in Jehovah's Witness cannot appeal expulsion to a judge: Supreme Court
Pretty much. Grounds of Excommunication results in Church ties being cut, which includes members of the church in of itself, hence shun command that is in connection with expelling.
The article reads that some of his customers were/are of the same faith as him, mostly the same people who go to/or use to go to the same JW church with this individual.
Other than that, a good percentage of his business is still available to the public, just that small circle of JWs that were his customers are no longer putting revenue into said business.
We shouldn't be part of the world, it goes for all men and women, we already have several examples in the last few months. As long as his business does not take negative turns, he should be fine.
Anything and everything in connection to Excommunication is Biblical, it does not originate with men, it originates with Christ, hence what was entrusted. For although he is expelled from his church, his business can still benefit others since all church ties are cut due to what he was excommunicated for.
For if a man sells fish and crabs to all even his church and eventually cut off from that community, his business isn't totally dead, only lost a good portion of customers who are of said church.
That being said, drunkenness and verbal abuse - for such things like that would get you booted from the church community because the Bible speaks regarding such things: drinking to the point to where you lose control and a foul mouth.
The individual also  admitted to 2 situations of drunkenness, whereas one of those occasions, he verbally abusing his wife -- wrongdoing he attributed to family stress over the earlier expelling of his 15 year old daughter from the church. Furthermore, Church Discipline committed by the church, which is referred to as a judicial committee stated that the individual was of the church since 1980, and that he himself would be expelled because he was not sufficiently repentant. And after that, for Wall, he took more actions upon himself and it all went downhill from there.

JOHN BUTLER reacted to Space Merchant in Muhammad
They actually believe this, that Jesus is God's Son, as well as Jesus being a Prophet. There biggest problem is they do not adhere to or believe in the idea that Jesus is God, a teaching that is affiliated with Trinitarian/Modalistic practices.
The reason I speak on their behalf at times is because of those who single them into one category, those who have Islamophobia. A Christian can preach the gospel to a Muslim however Muslims assume, only some of them, that all Christians are Trinitarians, an example would be that of Soco Films (exposed as lairs and frauding those the debate against), who are hardcore Trinitarians in the UK, they go after Jews, Catholics, JWs, Baptist, and the focus target, Muslims, the very reason why Muslims now study the Bible to point out issues with Trinitarians.
Indeed, anything of falsehood or conspiracy.
There is another area, like this forum regarding Dawah, whereas Trinitarians and Muslims are often at odds with each other, while at the same time Non-Trinitarians go at it with Trinitarians, something of which I mentioned here several times before.
Muslims do believe. Isa ibn Maryam meaning Jesus Son of Mary or simply Jesus. The Qu'ran and most Hadiths (testimonial) gives mention of Jesus, that he [Jesus] was born as a pure boy/child, who has no sin by means of his human mother, Mary. They understand that Jesus is a prophet and messenger of God (Allah in Arabic) and they believe he is the Christ/Messiah (Al'Masih), sent by God to help and give guidance the Children of Israel with a new revelation, to give the good news gospel, otherwise known as Al'Injil in Arabic or simply termed the gospel. Jesus who is the Christ, or in this case, Al'Masih, in Islam, is believed to be a prophet who neither married nor had any children and is reflected as a significant figure of importance. Jesus is mentioned over dozens of time in the Qu'ran with various titles, for example Son of Mary.
So it is unknown to anyone that they have a good idea who the Christ is, although the modern day children of Ishmael, the Muslims, view differ, but their view of God is accurate. The difference here is that they do not believe that Jesus had died, they believe he went straight into heaven to escape heaven once God had saved him out of the hands of those who wish to kill him compared to Christianity, who believe Jesus did in fact die.
I wouldn't say truth faith, but one has to realize to understand their views so conspiracy or falsehood isn't made against them, just as this sign in the thread makes no information of. Another factor is those using a Qu'ran that is not of the actual source, granted the Qu'ran had very very old manuscripts that were actually found.
That being said, there is always a list of difference, but there is factual information as to why this or why that, so to speak. Other than that they believe in eternal life, and that Jesus would return also, making all people believe in God, for Jesus will come to destroy the wicked, and put an end to the False Messiah to which we call the Anti-Christ, this term is called e Al'Masih-Ad'Dajjal in Arabic and that Jesus is to establish peace on earth.

@JOHN BUTLER At least it isn't that bad. I once had to deal with someone who went by name, in all caps, THE YIDDISH GHOST, even his avatar is ghost-like, when he says something it is always in Yiddish and when you translate his words and message is often cryptic and riddle based at times backwards or purposely misspelled in order for you to figure out, he was a Bible reading Agnostic and had quite a lot to say. A verse he often uses when he thinks he confuses or bested someone is this, 1 Corinthians 14:33. He shares a similar view of the early church as me and many others, but his is a bit more extreme and focused on Caesarea Philippi, mainly regarding the church.
I could probably dig up a screenshot of this guy when I have time.

@JOHN BUTLER American Laws are somewhat a mixed bag, there is some states that the abused are suppose to marry their abuser, and people wanting to make several things legal when to the eyes of the common "woke" man and woman, such is to not be made legal. On the other side of the spectrum, you have a divided America, one of the reasons why I am not a fan of politics.

Well 7 of the 8 GB are American, and 7 of the 8 GB are white.
As for how each of us see Jesus in our hearts and minds, well I would think we see him in a very positive way, so colour doesn't matter.
But it doesn't show much 'guidance from God' does it, if the GB have always pictured Jesus and His followers as white ?

Therapy at the tutelage of Worldly mental health professionals has, in many cases, real and significant value.
My first wife Dale,  dead now since 1982, was born with Cystic Fibrosis, which is a horrible way to live, and a horrible way to die,  depended heavily on "therapy" to stay relatively functional ... but came to think that her therapist was the only solution to coping.
Perhaps he was.... perhaps not ... I never attended any sessions .. I was merely the chauffeur.
Different things work for different people, I suppose.
For me it was John Wayne Western Movies about characters that "went through hell", and shrugged it off.
That, and two years later, I bought a 1971 Corvette convertible with a 454 engine.
    Worked for me!

That is why i think we are a long way from Armageddon. I think life earthwide has to get massively worse so that everyone will have to decide which way they are going, serving God or against Him.
Whilst we can sit at our computers like this, life is toooo easy. As for JW's just obeying orders, that is tooooo easy too.
And i know for sure that a lot of JW's 'just get their hours in', to please the Elders, not in true service to Jehovah. Having been on the ministry and seen them looking at their watches to see if the time is up.
No, it has to become more difficult, more effort needs to be needed to prove a person's stance. Like Russia maybe but Earthwide.
Everyone losing their homes, Kingdom halls being closed down by governments earthwide. And of course the fall of Babylon the Great has to come first.
When Armageddon is really here I think the judgement by Jesus Christ will be short and swift as people will have chosen their side.
Whether it will be brutal or not can be argued, but i think the scriptures say that birds of prey will feed of the bodies for a long time.

JOHN BUTLER reacted to Space Merchant in Les Miserables. Man's inhumanity to man.
No worries, but you have to remember there is many, many denominations in Christianity, even among Unitarians who are also under Christendom, and among them some do not believe that Jesus pre-existed before he became a man, while others do as well as a list of other things.
My views are very simple, especially regarding God and his Christ - 1 Corinthians 8:6 and I take and adhere to the teachings of what the Church teaches her people as is done in the early days of Church whereas our early Christian brothers and sisters use to gather, all of them, in union with Christ and His God, adhering to the same gospel, the same teaching.
That is why when t comes to all things true, be it the Bible, Christian history and so forth I tend to be somewhat pressing, even strict, for what is spoken of in Galatians 1 I follow to the letter.

'A great amount of rainfall'. I think the flood was a bit more than that.
It came upward from the ground as well as downward from the 'canopy'.
And the pressure pushing downwards would, one would think, destroy all in it's path.  There are of course things remaining intact on the sea bed in various places, and with Jehovah's powers anything is possible.
Those that believe, believe. Those that don't, dont. And of course 'science' / governments / businesses  will not give praise to God.
My view of science is that 'whoever pays the piper calls the tune'.
I still think it's funny that someone has dated the building of a pyramid to the same date as the flood.

Yes I agree with your last sentence. I first learnt the JW teachings from my brother. I had always believed and relied on my 'big' brother for advice as he always seemed sensible and balanced. My father died, at age 49, when i was only 20, so my brother acted as a father to me in many ways.  So, I took what my brother said as 'truth' in many matters .... However, now I've grown older and have more experience in life, i have come to realise that not all things my brother said were 'truth', to the point that i now know that he would use things to his own advantage.
And as I've said before the JW Org have a way of telling congregants not to question anything they say. And once again when a person gets older or wiser, then they do their own research, they find that not all JW teachings are true.

Oh it’s sorta like when you want to grow a beard, but thereÂ’s no Biblical basis for not being able to grow one, but the elders say NO simply because itÂ’s “cultural”. You mean like that?

I LOVE being 72 years old.
During the Vietnam War era legitimate scientists, realizing that there was "something"  about "Transcendental Meditation" that made people calmer, sharper, and more focused, set out to discover why.
They hooked up EEGs ( Electroencephalograms ) to people and monitored their brain activity while they "meditated", and found out that while they were "meditating", what they were doing, actually .... was sleeping.
What is truly amazing is that through marketing, they made a Three Billion Dollar empire, encouraging people to take naps!

Well, choice to doing "normal" stuff as going to higher education is, have to be matter of your personal choice and NOT RESULT OF DOGMATIC TEACHING, INSTRUCTION, ADVICE, COMMENDATION of Church Leaders.
About "stupidity". There is two sort of that connected to comment i made. One came from naivete , inexperience, or natural lack of reasoning for some stuff. Other came because we alone make us (and with help of others people too) to believe something and have strong feeling how we make best decision.
Religion (and not only religion) have that power to make us so sure in wrong things. Don't you think the same?
