This is how I understand it too. Nissan 14 is Passover day (Thursday after Sundown to Friday sundown.....)and Nissan 15 is a sabbath...... and Nissan 15 happened to also fall on the regular Sabbath - so it was a double sabbath.  (what is the chances of that! - amazing!)
Because it was a double Sabbath when no work was to be done the bones of the criminals were broken so they could be taken off the stakes and buried.  Jesus had already perished.

That was good to read.  Only, Jesus did not need any purification, cleaning or any things else regarding cleaning.  He did need time to talk with Jehovah to be able to focus on the purpose of his anointing.

One had to prepare before the sabbath - the sabbath was on the Saturday (a double sabbath whereon NO work was to be done - no cooking etc.  
I am a bit lazy to investigate but Jesus sent two ahead of him to the upper room to prepare for the Passover.  Passover was not a Sabbath so they could prepare the lamb on that day.... I hope I am correct on this.   ....  Maybe someone (JWI) could give us some more details on this.  (My eyes do not allow much any longer). 

Nowhere does it say it is exactly 72 hours.  It would have been more accurate to say 72 hours if God meant exactly 72 hours.  So they could have thrown him onto the sea very late late night of first day  (which fits in with Jewish day which starts at sundown), and shortly after the third night when daylight came - spewed him on dry land.....  did not think this through but just an idea.  
Jesus also spoke of the SIGN of Jonah.  A sign is not literal but an indication of something.  So we do not expect literal 3 days and nights but FOCUS on the SIGN..... just as the budding of the first flowers on trees is a sign that spring is arriving.  
The focus of all of this is the sign and the fact that Jesus died.  The other additional things are the side events.

What I have been trying to convey with my quasi-satirical comments is that in my opinion it doesn’t really matter, and when you try to conflate several things that won’t fit, and can’t fit, wanting to make them fit, and seeing that they might fit, and then it would be fitting if they did fit or they fit or not, it’s enough to give you a fit.

No. Because the night on the third day would not have been completed before dawn of that second day.
If someone dies on Friday afternoon and they are buried that Friday night, then the night of the first day is completed on Saturday. The night of the second day is therefore begun on the next night, Saturday night, and completed on the dawn of that second day which is Sunday morning. The night of the third day, would have been completed, therefore on Monday morning.
This is true even in our current conception of when a day begins, but would have been even clearer with the Jewish conception of when a day began, because their day started with nightfall.
You can begin the start of his judgment then if you wish, but the sign of Jonah was that he was in "Sheol" for three days and three nights. Christians saw no need to take this to any kind of literal count of hours. The very fact that it could apply when Jesus may have been in Sheol for only two nights is good evidence that there was no good reason to try to count the exact hours to make something spiritually significant out of them.

Yes, it has to do with offerings and sacrifice for a temorary covering under the Mosaic Law. However, Jesus is pure and without sin. His death was the antonement or covering for sinful mankind to become clean. Yet, Jesus was tested to the full for our sake.
Therefore, he fulfilled the Law of Moses "and erased the handwritten document that consisted of decrees and was in opposition to us. He has taken it out of the way by nailing it to the torture stake." (Colossians 2:14)
The Bible attaches great importance to the death of Jesus.

Peter, when I saw the other picture you often use, I did not know what to make of it because I saw a "parrot" with his wing like an arm on the JW-sign.

Nehemia Gorden indicates clearly that Jewish scholars never took any time to search  for the true pronunciation of Jehovah's name because Jews do not pronounce it.  So he has done so himself over the past few years. 
He has a team of people searching online through all ancient manuscripts. When they find the Name written down with the point system (vowels) included, he goes personally  to look at the original manuscript to ensure the ink is the same etc. 
He confirms the Name is Jehovah - actually YEHOVAH..... because the J is a transliteration. 
The last time I kept track of him there were much more than a thousand places the vowels and consonants were found together. 

The True God has One Name but that Name is transliterated differently according to different languages.

Apparently others have struggled with the subjectivity of the anointed idea as well. (Ro. 8:16)
Since there is no objective evidence that any individual is anointed today, I simply examine organizations as to the proximity these come to sticking to the bible. This organization fares better than most in my view and quite amazing insofar as it is global in extent. That said, the dragnet illustration w/regard to organizations still hold in my view. The organization too is part of the dragnet. Parallel accounts w/wheat and weeds, sheep and goats the same and even the question "Who really is the FDS?" Each organization claims as a body to be such. Jesus will be the judge. Until then the focus of a Christian is to identify which ORGANIZATION they deem to be faithful and discreet. If you have no organization, then you're not part of that body because you're either implicitly or explicitly are behaving as a "superfine apostle". How then can you forgive your brothers when you separate yourself from them because they didn't do everything the way you thought they should have? 
Anyway I ignore anyone's claims at anointing. Show me your behavior and shut up about how you have some psychological idea about whether or not you might be wearing an invisible crown. Show me your scriptures and your arguments and I'll make up my own mind. 
Oh, also use the same hypercritical analysis w/regard to the 1st century organization and you'd reject them too.

It’s trickier because he is so combative, to the point where I and others have wondered if he can possibly be a brother. revelation 17:  “The ten horns that you saw mean ten kings who have not yet received a kingdom, but they do receive authority as kings for one hour with the wild beast. 13  These have one thought, so they give their power and authority to the wild beast."
When does the "one hour" start?  When the "image of the beast receives authority with the ten kings who have not ruled before. This wild beast is the scarlet colored wild beast which is the "image of the beast (the UN). Revelation 17 talks about the scarlet beast which destroys religion - UN. 
"  And the ten horns that you saw and the wild beast, these will hate the prostitute and will make her devastated and naked, and they will eat up her flesh and completely burn her with fire. 17  For God put it into their hearts to carry out his thought,

(This is why I watch the goings-on of the UN because other kingdoms will willingly hand over authority to it so that it rules for one hour ....) It seems the new kings will either be the corporations or the oligarchs behind the corporations because they signed a deal with the UN 2 and half years ago - giving it lots of money and teeth.  There are so many silent deals going on behind the scenes, this is just another one:

We are almost there - as UN failed to get full rulership last month.... But secret deals are going on behind the scenes which will be voted upon soon.  When this happens full power will kick in after 8 months...!

When there has been controversy on this forum about 1914, I always said that I am open to this generation being 120 years - the probability is high.   BUT...... we must watch for ALL the signs......
Last month the WHO of UN was thwarted in taking over the rule of the world regarding health, environment and food security.  They will try again next month and in august.  
What does bible prophecy indicate - that "Image of the  beast will only rule for ONE hour..."....  which is a short period.  It could be a few years - to another ten years which is doubtful regarding their intentions with the 4th industrial revolution and UN Agenda 2030... ......... Regarding the pace of developments in the secular world - we will soon be faced with a totalitarian government which will demand worship of the image of beast and absolute obedience to its directives .... or face the consequences.
Their hearts are already set at the destruction of religion - so Jehovah will let it go into fruition when the time is right. After this we will watch the dismantling of society as we knew it.  This can also happen relatively quickly - especially under extreme conditions of hunger, suffering and totalitarianism.  
Jehovah will have to step in to save some flesh....   : “There will be great tribulation such as has not occurred since the world’s beginning until now . . . In fact, unless those days were cut short, no flesh would be saved.” (Matthew 24:21, 22) But God promises us that many humans will survive: “The world is passing away . . . , but the one who does the will of God remains forever.”—1 John 2:17.
What I am doing now is some cautioning - not to settle on a definite date.  Jehovah says he is going to cut those days (like Noah) short in order to save some.   So in my estimation, the conditions in the world will be worse than before the flood.... and Jehovah will have to step in to save the great crowd... while quite a large number of them are still alive.

Notice Jesus compared the days of Noah to his Presence, they took no note until the Flood came and swept them all away. Therefore, we can conclude that both Prophecies are 'timed events'. Time and again Jesus kept reminding his disciples just as the days of Noah were, so the presence of the Son of man will be. How long were the days of Noah? Then Jehovah said: “My spirit will not tolerate man indefinitely, because he is only flesh. Accordingly, his days will amount to 120 years.” (Genesis 6:3)
When Noah stopped preaching to work on the Ark, did the wicked take note? "For just as the days of Noah were, so the presence of the Son of man will be." Yes... Noah was 600 at the time of the Flood and lived another 350 afterward...  the 120 was the allotted time limited for the old world to take heed. But nobody lived pass the day of a thousand years that Jehovah set.

Years of time were spent building the ark%2C time that Noah the “preacher of righteousness” also used in warning that wicked generation. (2Pe 2%3A5) Finally the time limit was up

After the flood they did not immediately come down in age. Noah still lived (if I remember correctly) 350 years after the flood. Gradually the life spans became less.  Well, a long time ago my brother did a paper (not published - he does this for fun), which indicated the build-up of bad UV light after the flood.  When it reached a certain peak it would start to influence peoples span of life.
So life went down and settled at 70 to 80 years in the time of David.

Yes... and that leads us back to subject of this discussion about timing.  "However, do not let this escape your notice, beloved ones, that one day is with Jehovah as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day.  Jehovah is not slow concerning his promise, as some people consider slowness, but he is patient with you because he does not desire anyone to be destroyed but desires all to attain to repentance.  But Jehovah’s day will come as a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar, but the elements being intensely hot will be dissolved, and earth and the works in it will be exposed." (2 Peter 3:8-10)

Learning these things now can help you prepare for the coming events. It will take faith, but there is hope! Start preparing your heart and mind and apply the counsel from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ: "No one can slave for two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will stick to the one and despise the other. You cannot slave for God and for Riches. “On this account I say to you: Stop being anxious about your lives as to what you will eat or what you will drink, or about your bodies as to what you will wear. Are you not worth more than they are?" (Matthew 6:24-26)
"Who of you by being anxious can add one cubit to his life span?" (Matthew 6:27)
"So never be anxious and say, ‘What are we to eat?’ or, ‘What are we to drink?’ or, ‘What are we to wear?’  For all these are the things the nations are eagerly pursuing. Correct, but 40 is significant. How long was Jesus teaching his disciples on earth before asending to heaven after his resurrection? 
"After he had suffered, he showed himself alive to them by many convincing proofs. He was seen by them throughout 40 days, and he was speaking about the Kingdom of God." (Acts 1:3)
How long was Jesus in the wilderness being tempted by Satan?  How long did it rain on the earth in order to cleanse it? Jesus, Moses, and Elijah all fasted for how many days?

Please explain the difference between the first part of that scripture and the second part. After all there is an "AND" between the two parts so we should be able to understand both the first portion AND the second portion.
The first part says that one day with Jehovah is as a thousand years. That should be pretty easy. It would mean that one 24-hour day to a man is like 1000-years with Jehovah. Obviously it doesn't mean that Jehovah is 365,000 times slower than humans (as some people consider slowness). Perhaps it could imply that Jehovah can easily manage 1,000 years worth of heavenly accomplishments in a human's 24-hour period of earthly doings.
Then the second part seems to say the opposite: that 1,000 years of human, earthly doings is like only one day to Jehovah. It's mostly the second part of the verse that Peter is apparently using to show why that final judgment parousia had not begun yet, and why people were already, in those last days, ridiculing the parousia expectations during that first century.
But when we take both those ideas together, we see that it is really saying that Jehovah is outside of human time restrictions. It's not about giving us a formula that only relies on the second part of the verse. We can't just select only the part that seems useful to our theories. We have to take the whole Bible, where both these statements are true:
24 hours seems like 1,000 years to Jehovah   (1:365,000) 1,000 years seems like 24 hours to Jehovah   (365,000:1)

All the chosen ones know they must die in order to join Jesus in his kingdom - now in the end of the global system of things.
The NW study bible shows that Titus effected the conquest in only 4 months and 25 days in 70 CE. Due to the actions of the extremists within the city.  The tribulation was intense but remarkably short.  More than 1 million killed and almost the same number taken as slaves.
In 66 CE when Vespasian came the time was cut short so that the anointed Christians could flee the city.  They were not in the city when the Romans came back.
Matt 24: 22  What will happen on a global scale during the coming great tribulation? The UN will turn against religion at the beginning of the great tribulation.  But the UN attack on religion will be "cut short" so that the true religion will not be destroyed with the false. True religion will survive.
The political ten horns will not be allowed to annihilate God's people.
