These people always throw bait - they do not care about Jehovah. They pretend to be interested in the light..... but are they really?  I agree with pudgy.... Paris is more interesting.

Jesus managed conflict correctly all the time.  Free thinking allows for different views on things - but people will allow different viewpoints when it is not morally wrong. Morally wrong things will be corrected.

We cannot fathom out every situation except understanding that many lost their lives unnecessarily and Jehovah kept  judged the living according to their heart condition. In this situation, most who died are not in Gehenna but in Sheol, just  like the opposers who came up against Moses. Jehovah promised that there would be death no longer and that we will not remember the bad things in the past. So obviously Jehovah has everything single outcome under control - even if we do not want to think about it in this way.
It is the final outcome that is important because Jehovah has the power to rectify everything else.
In the next two to five years - many people will lose their lives due to hunger, war, untimely death through pestilence (as prophecy indicated).  Much of it is going to be due to the actions of other humans or unforeseen circumstances.  I assume that most of them will get a resurrection.   But when Armageddon - the Day of Jehovah arrives, those hardened god-haters will pay the ultimate price.

No the Org. is NOT the means to our salvation... but Jesus' ransom  and his father Jehovah.  If you are dedicated to Jehovah and his Son and you are associated with his org.  you are assisted to maintain pure worship (without idolatry etc.) and to remain in a relationship with them. This helps you to remain in this life-saving situation.
From your hateful attitude and complaints about everything (except complaints against Satan's organization - which is world wide) - I would say you are well on the way to self-destruction.

Yeah interesting that…doesn’t sort of fit because Jesus will call down evil on any man even tho a hundred years old thru out the thousand years…..but I’m supposing some will have a evil undercurrent and when the world is at peace may want to start ruling parts of it themselves…start relying on themselves and forgetting ..what it was like….if you stop to reason on it….in the New world …how can one explain….children were cut open often alive for their kidneys or heart…or children were sold for sex…..or children were offered up as sacrifices to the demons….maybye ones who have only experienced  peace and bodily perfection will not appreciate what they have and trust in themselves…When Satan is released unfortunately history will repeat itself…..for a time…

Pudgy let’s just try to get to the other side of things…even if it’s by resurrection ..but if I see a lot of German Shepard’s and French poodles…I will think of you ….actually no I won’t …sorry

Paul was a messenger to the gentiles and he was not baptized - so is it a requirement that a messenger must be beheaded?    Apostle means : sent out.   They all were sent out to be messengers.

I think the way I should have put it is that the doctrines don’t change. Once you’ve dealt with them, you’ve dealt with them. Accordingly, in any given year, our publications will barely mention trinity and hellfire beyond a reference or two to how they are “trash’ that interfere with building a relationship with God. Very seldom are there specific paragraphs on trinity, let alone an entire article. Mostly they just refer people back to the Trinity brochure, or whatever has replaced it.
My own blog is the same way. In sixteen years I have maybe 5 or 6 posts specifically on the Trinity. In the Enjoy Life Forever interactive brochure there is almost nothing on trinity or hellfire. All I found was something in the Explore section of lesson 13, How False Religion Misrepresents God:
“For generations, religions have told lies that make God seem distant and cruel. Learn the truth about three of those lies.“Lies That Make God Seem Unlovable” (The Watchtower, November 1, 2013)”
It was even a little frustrating to me because I did have a Bible student from fundamentalist background, a very studious guy always wanting to ‘dig deeper.’ So I dug into how all renderings of hell stem from just 3 original language words—sheol, hades, Gehenna, (with a single exception of one ‘tartarus’), and that all renderings of hellfire come only from Gehenna. I didn’t see where that was specifically dealt with in depth and I ended up going off on my own tangents—Insight book material, and so forth. It is not part of the basic study guide.
Few people seriously believe these doctrines anymore—people have “moved on” from doctrines—and the ones who do, fundamentalists for the most part, are seldom persuaded no matter how much you quote scripture. They are the people who “accepted Jesus” in a flash. Some preacher said “come down and be saved” and in an instant they did, having had no intention of doing so before. They get their “truth” by revelation, not by Bible study. They thereafter cherry pick the Bible to find verses that back up what they believe. Where they find passages that don’t, they dismiss them as poor interpretation, corruption, bad translation, the Bible is too complicated to know, and so forth. Their minds were made up at their “conversion” that happened in an instant. “I’ve never convinced one” my favorite circuit overseer said, an old timer now deceased, on arguing with people over the trinity.
If we are oldtimers ourselves, and we remember a time when these doctrines were important to people, we can easily fall into the mindset that they still are. But they rarely are. The approach of the Enjoy Life Forever is not to teach people doctrines they don’t believe in anyway only to thereafter tell them they are wrong. Instead, it just teaches Bible truth, and reserves the ‘Lies that Make God Seem Unlovable’ article for anyone still attached to those beliefs.
Of course, if you happen to be surrounded by people who do love and cherish these doctrines, then lots of time spent disproving them may be just the ticket. But those people are becoming rare, they are rapidly dying out and being replaced by persons who don’t give a hoot. I think that’s way the Watchtower devotes relatively little space to the “false doctrines of Christendom.” They try to keep up, not with how people used to be, but how they are now. They focus on teaching the positive things of the Bible, rather than disproving the negative

I think for these very reasons he fits the description of someone supplying food at the proper time. For these reasons I wouldn't blame anyone at that time thinking he was the slave, and I wouldn't blame Russel for thinking that about himself either.
I don’t know why we today say he wasn't the slave. Well actually I do...because it wouldn't fit our overall picture regarding 1919 when we say the slave was appointed, because he was dead by then....
Added:  Acording to this book; God’s Kingdom of a Thousand Years has Approached,” (1973, p. 345-47
“The Slave who lived to see the sign”) the slave was appointed in 33 CE. This is what we used to teach, that it was all of the annointed since that time. So since Russel was the only one who seemed to start uncovering Bible truths in the 19th century, then it's easy to see him taking up that role. Of course now we say "Russel and his associates" which makes the slave composite, not one individual.

It does not matter if he was the slave or not. (With new light we know he was not - he was only the messenger before the faithful slave rendering service in the Parousia)  Mal 3: 1  “Look! I am sending my messenger, and he will clear up a way before me. And suddenly the true Lord, whom you are seeking, will come to his temple; and the messenger of the covenant will come, in whom you take delight. Look! He will certainly come,” says Jehovah of armies. ).
At that time the knowledge of the Truth the brothers had was good enough for those who lived in this time period.  They had  learnt that there is no soul that goes out of you which is immortal; and many other truths which helped them to cling to Jehovah and the ransom; as they did not believe that Jesús is God. They already had most of the basic truths and were contemplating newer ones... and had discarded some wrong ones.  The resurrection they received will be based on what they knew at the time and Jehovah is the judge of who is righteous.  (Their work was also to expose the idolatry of Christendom because Babylon the Great was about to fall after 1914).
To highlight if the JWs were right or wrong at that time does not matter either; and to nitpick their leadership and how they came to be what they are today is not even important.  It is what we do today that is important.... and because humans are imperfect the 'slave' today can still make mistakes.... and they will be judged accordingly (Ps103 Jehovah keeps in mind that we are all flesh).
We can only look at the history and pray we do not make the same mistakes ...... but that is as far as it goes.  Many will try to use this history to prove that we are a cult or a false religion - but compared with other Christian denominations - Jehovah needed a people who did not have the bloody history on their hands for supporting wars and recruiting  soldiers. He needed to form a nation that were trying to be obedient and were willing to learn - get up after mistakes - and go on. Since good leaders are always scarce, Jehovah had to work with those which were available - just as he does today.

But Saul was chosen and then rejected…as was Judas…wouldn’t that be like saying once saved always saved sort of principle…I watched the Family sometime ago…it made me realise the cunning of Satan to pose and seduce people into believing they ( politicians and all associated with them ) were doing it in Gods name and maybe even bring about Peace and security in his name….

The same thing is involved when I hear people say "I encouraged that brother". I always say, no you didn't. If you'll look and see he still appears to be discouraged. What you should have said is "I attempted to encourage that brother, but I failed."

I don't feel that comfortable with it either, too much of a specific date for my liking. It's apparently because Rutherford and Co were exonerated and released from prison in 1919 and started afresh with proclaiming the kingdom with renewed zeal. So looking at it in retrospect we now say they were at that time appointed by Jesus to perform that work as the slave and Russel was the one who prepared the way, according to Bible prophecy. (After the 1st century when apostasy set in, right up to 1919 the annointed were captive to Babylon and not doing anything of note and so they were not the slave.....that was one of the main themes of the Pure Worship book....the restoration of pure worship).

I think he was dead when that was written….he cannot be blamed for what was written after his death……from what I’ve read he admitted others applied that term to him personally ..I shall try to find it,
On his gravestone they also wrote and gave him a certain title which he had nothing to do with ….was the WT lying…not sure?…..again going from what I have read he had hoped he had acted in an approved manner….and acknowledged others thought him to be such.
And just WHO in the watchtower claimed he said that …..Rutherford????
And even if he did….so what…thank the man for devoting his life as he came out of BTG…thank him for straightening out hellfire and standing strong and fighting against the trinitarian God….Thank him for being fearless in traveling the world and explaining about the kingdom….and the resurrection hope on the earth….
You know what you know because of one’s like him …instead of finding fault…get on your knees with some humility and Thank God Russell found him,,…sheesh talk about finding fault with a brother…..
I often wonder about that with you….why I ask myself…you always seem to sow seeds of doubt about Russell…is it the date thing???
I don’t doubt he did a lot of wrong…misunderstood heaps of things…and JWI..I will say this…you so quickly condemn the man….there is nothing humble about you in doing it.

Facebook0 Twitter LinkedIn Email “God’s Kingdom of a Thousand Years has Approached,” 1973, p. 345-47
“The Slave who lived to see the sign”
“From this it is clearly seen that the editor and publisher of Zion’s Watch Tower disavowed any claim to being individually, in his person, that “faithful and wise servant.” He never did claim to be such,” (“God’s Kingdom of a Thousand Years Has Approached,” 1973, p. 346).
Comment:  This contradicts Watchtower December 1, 1919, p. 357 where the watchtower states Russell did in fact claim to be the Faithful and Discreet slave.  “Thousands of the readers of Pastor Russell’s writings believe that he filled the office of ‘that faithful and wise servant,’ and that his great work was giving to the household of faith meat in due season. His modesty and humility precluded him from openly claiming this title, but he admitted as much in private conversation,” (Watchtower, Dec. 1, 1919, p. 357).

The best advise I can give someone concerning Russell is get his writings and books etc and read them yourselves…also there are Facebook pages often clearing up certain things he was supposed to say and do…
