If research within the JW could be conducted that goes back at least 50 years, I am convinced that a large percentage of similar results would be found. All of them would have in common a collective state of mind due to which their view of the "near future" or the future in general, was influenced by the JW religious view of "tomorrow", and that all this "today and earthly" would fail. And that is why you should not put special effort into anything "material". That no plans should be made for the "earthly," but only for the "spiritual." This “spiritual” is, of course, exclusively within the ideology of the WTJWorg.
There are capable and wealthy people among the JWs. There are those who came to the organization highly educated. There are those JW parents who have sent their children to college before and today. But a large number of members are "ordinary people", who accept "simple (unambiguous) doctrinal assumptions" regarding their position in the social life of the country of which they are citizens and regarding their own identity. For example, what is shown in one congress video / program - a child who has the gift to play the violin should be stopped to go "in the world" and achieve a career as a musician.
Admittedly, I know personally two JWs, a father and a son, violinists, who had problems at work due to their refusal to play the anthem. It is interesting, on the other hand, that I have never heard of them refusing to play another piece of music, and we all, more or less know, that in some compositions or musical performances there are things depicting murders, adulteries, lies and other morally unacceptable things for some JW member. By that logic, a JW musician would often have to refuse to play in an orchestra.
From all this and many other life situations, which you have also heard about, it is evident that an individual or a group of believers cannot be completely “pure within the unclean”. Not even within the "spiritual paradise" of congregation.

Well I'll just say, that if it wasn't for JW's I wouldn't have a college degree, a high paying career or even be alive.
There are other stories. I know a lot of people who blame(perhaps she isn't 'blaming', but the context gives that impression) the org for the way their lives turned out. Not everyone had that experience, but then again, I wasn't raised at a JW. None of my family were JW's or even were at all religious. Sometimes they blame the BORG (their words), when it's their own family that was screwed up. Sometimes it was simply that they used their own free will in whatever manner they chose. This woman is no victim. It's not like "fity cent" says "get rich or die tryin", this world gives you many choices.
Take a different group, Mormons. Now a sci-fi writer, I read William Shunn's "Terror on Flight 789" before he put it in book form as "The Accidental Terrorist". I rather suspect the constraints of his religion and it's culture were the fuel which made for the writing career he has today. Not that this was the goal of the LDS church, but it shows that we have w/in us certain "gifts" which when watered one way or another by others AND by ourselves we become who we become.

“I was told I’d stop aging and I’d be a teenager forever. I didn’t think I’d ever earn money for myself, have a bank account, own a home, fall in love, get married.”

The author at age 11 in a 1988 school photo. “I was expecting the world to end in five years maximum,” she says.
My teacher, having asked everyone who got 10 out of 10 right on the spelling test to put their hand up, went on to ask who got 9 out of 10. She proceeded from there, down to 4 out of 10. I put my hand up. I actually got 1 out of 10, but didn’t want to admit I didn’t study for the test. She wouldn’t have understood why.
I was 9 years old and I wasn’t going to grow up. I didn’t need to learn to spell because I’d never need a job. It was 1986, my family were Jehovah’s Witnesses, and the JW governing body was confidently predicting that Armageddon would arrive by the mid-1990s. Everyone who survived that would live forever in Paradise on earth. We were promised this at each of the thrice-weekly meetings we attended. In Paradise, we’d build log cabins, make friends with wild animals and spend our time picking fruit with other Jehovah’s Witnesses. This was all lovingly illustrated for us in the Jehovah’s Witness literature.
I tried to suppress the panic I felt whenever I perused the pictures. To me, it looked boring ― because it was going to last forever. I had many opportunities to consider forever, sitting on a plastic chair under fluorescent lights, during the interminable Jehovah’s Witness meetings. Forever meant that eventually, the whole world would be so familiar to me that there would be no wonders left. One day I would have had every possible conversation with every single person still alive on the planet. It gave me a feeling like vertigo. So I told myself to trust what I was learning because if everyone else wanted to live forever, it would surely somehow be marvelous, and a more-than-ample reward for all the activities we missed out on in the present-day world.
There were plenty of those. No Christmas, no birthdays, no Easter. Technically, Jehovah’s Witnesses were allowed televisions, but we were warned frequently about “worldly influences” and my parents had elected not to have one. Higher education was frowned upon ― it was considered selfish not to use all your available time and energy trying to convert nonbelievers, so as to save their lives during Armageddon. Many young JWs left school as soon as legally allowed, took low-paying jobs, and spent all of their spare time and energy evangelizing, or “storing up treasures in heaven.” I banked on Armageddon coming quickly enough to save me from having to become a window cleaner. I was keen for it to arrive before I turned 16. This, the JW literature assured me, was almost certain.

I had a study years ago with this jewish astrophysicist. It was interesting, but one interesting observation he made (he did become a brother) was that evil is predictable because evil shuns free will. The more evil, the more predictable. Also from other writings I've read (C. S. Lewis) evil is also parasitic. It doesn't create, but owes its existence to parasitism. An evil person (who am I to judge), but and evil act is the business of getting at "the good" the wrong way. Atheists want what faith provides, but can't have it because it requires a specific path - one they've shunned. "I am the way, the truth, the life - no one comes to the father except through me" Jesus said, and all the truly good things require obedience to and recognition of Jehovah and his rules, laws, purposes. He's teaching us to benefit who? Us all.

You know, that the core beliefs of JW's don't differ significantly from the bulk of other nontrinitarian religions except in ways which, quite frankly are conscience matters. This is a big issue in my world. Too many brothers want to override or supplant the consciences of others. If there is a defect, that would be it - not the nationality. As regards the locus of the org, the rationale for it being here is in good part because the constitution protects freedom of worship (although that is getting eroded). Historically speaking, the 1800's and the "Great Awakening" happened in the United States because we had the kind of government and culture which allowed for this freedom. It would have never gotten off the ground in Europe or anywhere else for that matter. So it certainly appears to me that Jehovah thought this the best country for it to take place in. None of us would whine and say "But why did Jehovah pick the Jews!". So any complaints about "Why America!" sound very similar as that complaint to me.

Patiently waiting for Truth got a reaction from ApostaBabe Linda James in Russia’s religious persecution focuses almost exclusively on Jehovah’s Witnesses
So when Hitler persecuted the Jews does that mean that the Jews had the true religion and it was the devil causing the persecution of true religion ?   I don't think so.
But you are right, I don't have real knowledge about the troubles in Russia.  Not being a JW I suppose Russia doesn't play on my mind. But the persecution is wicked and should of course stop.
But I don't think it is a 'sign of the end', whereas you might.

Well I presume you are American, and that accounts for a lot.
BUT that is why the Org / Watchtower et al, NEEDS a totally different Governing Body.  It needs anointed brothers from all around the earth, not just American, or American influenced.
The proof of that is YOU.

...I also discovered the power of stupid. Nothing gets an irate householder off your butt than pretending to be galactically stupid. I remember this big guy in a cowboy hat running down his driveway yelling at me saying "There's no soliciting here!". He stopped quick when I put on my dumb face (maybe it always looks dumb?) and said "...but you could still have the magazines if you want them..." He stopped up short...and you could see him realize and think "Why would I kick this dumb dog? It's only doing what it was trained to do..." He said more calmly "...no, I'm sorry that's OK."

I suppose you'd likewise pity the guy I chased down in his yard and took the magazines away from when he came to the fence, smiled and said "Sure! I'll take those magazines...So I can throw them way." I jumped the chain link fence and grabbed them from his hands. Poor guy slipped in the wet grass and was on his back at the time.
His response was "But, but... you made me come to the fence", and I said "And you lied to me with your smiling face. Those are my magazines, and if you want to read them you can, but not if you're just going to pitch them."
Do I think that was the best response? No. But I did it.
I remember another time when I made a call to the local parish to complain because I ran into this young guy who took one of the magazines and started to eat it in front of me.
I said "That's an odd reaction to my presentation." (he was drunk apparently) Then it turned out he was mad because he'd read one of the magazines that blasted the church for pedo-priests and in his drunk mind eating a magazine was a rebuttal of sorts. I sat down with him on his porch while he calmed down and began to talk about his experience w/his local parish priest (he'd apparently been doing something wrong w/him). So I called the parish and let them know they had a priest problem. I don't know what happened after that, I mean he was over eighteen, but clearly disturbed.
Then there was the time I had a gun pointed at me at the door while I was making a presentation. I didn't see it at the time, but the other brother did. I just thought he didn't seem that interested.
Doing a rural once I and another bro had some dogs loosed on us while we were walking up to the farmhouse. I told the bro to just ignore the dogs and don't make eye contact. The dogs just kept running to the cattle guard right past us. The ranch hands were surprised we'd made it. I actually had a pretty good call there for a while. I think because we didn't wimp out from the dogs, they decided we were OK.
Another weird call, though was when this little old black lady the first time let us in and told us that she talked to Jesus every day. I said "Really?" She said "Oh yes, he sits on the edge of my bed and we talk." I said "So what did he look like?" She said "Oh, he's a little black man." .... I didn't think this call was going to go anywhere. But...the next time I came back she wouldn't let us in. She said "King won't let me let you in." I said "Who's 'King'?" and then she pointed at this big angry looking cat. That was creepy.

Here, let me rephrase the question for you.  Show me one scripture in the Bible that says God allows His Holy priesthood to be replaced/represented by elders who are not "circumcised".  They are not of "Israel".  They are "Gentiles".
There, does that help you understand?  Or, will you continue to evade the question with stupid answers.
Gal 5:6 and 1 Cor 7:19 are concerning physical circumcision, not the spiritual through anointing.

I can only guess that you are trying to make a case against spiritual "circumcision" which the anointed receive. (Col 2:11) No one, is mixing up the literal Jew with the spiritual Jew. Only you are.

The Apostle Paul was both a physical Jew and a Spiritual Jew.
Philippians 3 :  from verse 4.  The Apostle Paul says about being a physical Jew :
    If any other man thinks he has grounds for confidence in the flesh, I have more: 5  circumcised the eighth day, of the nation of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew born from Hebrews; regarding law, a Pharisee;
And he was Anointed by Jesus Christ as a spiritual Jew.

Then you should have condemnation against all the Watchtower Leaders that demanded that CSA be kept hidden in the Organisation.
Yes the Leaders of the Watchtower have done this for years.  Misusing scripture about 'the time of the end' to pretend that Armageddon was coming in 1941, and in the late 1960's / early 70's. Then again 'before the end of the century' meaning the year 200.
They deliberately misused the scripture about the Superior Authorities, up until 1962.  Yes only to satisfy themselves.

Now, I watched that video and he was talking about God's enemies. So lets dissect this.
Firstly, I would agree with anyone that says God's enemies should be destroyed.
After all, the Earth cannot be cleansed whilst God's enemies remain.
Secondly, that scripture   Berean Study Bible Matthew 5 v 44
But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,
This was spoken to the Anointed by Jesus, and it is saying to the Anointed to love THEIR enemies, NOT to love God's enemies.
In this one instance I will agree with A Morris, to hate God's enemies.
Now here we venture into another topic, that of, who has the job of deciding who God's enemies are ? Well concerning God's enemies, by their works we will know them, so here the True Anointed will know who they are. Even we of the earthly class, that are not JWs, would be able to see some who directly work against God.
A villain is not a villain 27/7, sometimes they may even do something good. It's the same with the GB of the Watchtower/JW Org.

Sounds a bit like superstition to me.
Although the quote “when the student is ready the teacher will appear” was thought to have been said by Buddha it is actually of Theosophical origin. This idea that the disciple or student will call to the universe what they need to continue enlightenment has been proven over and over.
Um, you get stranger by the minute. You really didn't knock the door because you expect an angel to 'alert' the person in the house to come to the door. A bit like putting God to the test. Will God send an angel to tell this person to answer the door, even though i haven't knocked.
I pity the young person you were trying to 'train'.
As for ' reading into a verse, something which isn't necessarily there.' The GB and their helpers do that constantly.

Not what I meant. This is what I mean when I say eisegesis. Eisegesis is reading into a verse, something which isn't necessarily there. Like when you quote "The wages sin pays is death" and someone says "That's your interpretation" and I say "No. I'm just reading what's on the paper." "An 'interpretation' would be to say that "death" properly understood in that verse is of the body only, but not the soul....But of course that would be you engaging in eisegesis." So when I say "Not their time, it had to do w/their not being ready yet, like the phrase, "When the student is ready, the teacher will come."

Yes for sure, there are people who are highly educated and believe in God as Creator. JW or other religious organizations have in their ranks highly educated people who believe in God. That is a fact.
If we stop after this conclusion, then we have no more problems......
.......Yet we have a problem: But in which Creator God do all these highly educated people and scientists believe? In God of Dr Tour? In God of JW's? What religion does Dr Tour belong to? To what extent will JW's accept the conclusions of Dr. Tour, a scientific believer of the Jewish direction, or of the Baptist direction, etc.? ?
DR Tour said for Adventistorg. If you really study science, it will bring you closer to God.”
But WTJWorg said opposite, You have to study NWT Bible and WTJWorg publications to be closer to God.
Tour does not see a conflict between faith and science, having been quoted as saying, “I build molecules for a living. I can’t begin to tell you how difficult that job is. I stand in awe of God because of what He has done through His creation. Only a rookie who knows nothing about science would say science takes away from faith. If you really study science, it will bring you closer to God.” - https://www.adventistreview.org/church-news/story15332-andrews-university-to-host-origins-lecture-by-distinguished-scientist
He also said: Only a rookie who knows nothing about science would say science takes away from faith.
This is interesting. GB (rookie in Dr Tour mind) say opposite, stay away from higher education because you will loose your faith in JHVH. :))
