  1. Something a lot of people don't know. Jada has hair loss, this is why she shaved her head. She's been open about it and it's a hurtful topic for her. Chris Rock just literally made fun of her having a medical issue. Look at Jada's face after the joke. You could tell she was hurt. While the cameras weren't pointed at Will Smith, I'm sure he looked at his wife, could see the hurt and then reacted.

Denzel Washington was seen later kneeling beside Jada with his arm around her and talking to her. I think he was just making sure she was okay. Will Smith smiles and let's a lot roll off his back, but I think seeing his wife hurt, just pissed him off. I take it as Will Smith was defending her, and I stand with Will Smith. You got a lot of guts getting up in the middle of a live show and smacking him for that. Chris Rock deserved it IMO. Don't make a joke about peoples struggles and you won't get slapped.

citing Wassman's "KL," a brutal and utterly detailed qccount of the Holocaust.

These famous photos are of KL staff enjoying a vacation they received as part of a bonus for being "good employees" at the camp they were stationed in. The SS prized brutality above all else inside the camps, and while it is difficult to k ow what exactly earned these specific guards this retreat, it was almost certainly some public display of inhumanity against a KL inmate.

These images are among the most important of KL history, as they show us that the guards were not threatened or coerced into brutality. Instead, they reveled in it. They enjoyed, and we're rewarded for, the cruelty they visited on others.

The initial killing in the Holocaust was just soldiers machine gunning down rows of people. The “problem” with that was that many soldiers were committing suicide. So the Nazi higher ups designed the gas chambers because it was more sanitized. They also had to manipulate people working at the camps in order to get them do do heir jobs.

This does not excuse this at all. We're all accountable for our actions. But these pictures don't capture the whole story. Don't forget that Stanley Milgram's research showed that many—but not all—regular people can be manipulated into committing atrocities.

  3. When it comes to protecting your accounts, the general consensus is to always use two-factor authentication, which traditionally uses a unique six-digit code that’s re-generated every 30 seconds. If you want to keep hackers away, it’s a big help...but the process isn’t seamless. You often need a third-party app, and you end up losing access to all your passwords if you lose your phone or the app itself.

With iOS 15, iPadOS 15, and macOS Monterey, Apple wants to make all of this easier by tying in two-factor authentication with iCloud Keychain. You can set up two-factor natively on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac, and since it’s linked to your iCloud account, it’s secure, supports autofill, and you’ll never lose access to it. Not to mention, it’s free to use.

To be clear, this built-in authenticator is different from your Apple ID’s two-factor authentication settings. The latter sends a code to one of your trusted Apple devices when trying to log into your Apple ID. This new feature, however, is for third-party services that require an authenticator app.

Essentially, navigate to the passwords section in a site or app, and choose their two-factor authentication option. Then, choose the option that lets you set up two-factor authentication on the same device. This will directly open the iCloud Passwords screen, where you’ll have to authenticate using a one-time password.

  4. 'Not a good sign:' Antarctica, Arctic simultaneously 70 and 50 degrees Fahrenheit above normal

Both Lazzara and Meier said what happened in Antarctica is probably just a random weather event and not a sign of climate change. But if it happens again or repeatedly then it might be something to worry about and part of global warming, they said.

The Antarctic warm spell was first reported by The Washington Post.

The Antarctic continent as a whole on Friday was about 8.6 degrees (4.8 degrees Celsius) warmer than a baseline temperature between 1979 and 2000, according to the University of Maine’s Climate Reanalyzer, based on U.S. National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration weather models. That 8-degree heating over an already warmed-up average is unusual, think of it as if the entire United States was 8 degrees hotter than normal, Meier said.

At the same time, on Friday the Arctic as a whole was 6 degrees (3.3 degrees) warmer than the 1979 to 2000 average.
