I often wonder about that scarred, empty contoured glass Coca~Cola bottle stamped on the bottom “Atlanta ,GA - November 15 1919”, found 23 feet deep imbedded in the solidified volcanic pumice of Mt. Vesuvius ….. which erupted in 79 AD, burying the cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum under ash and volcanic debris.

In all this excitement bandying about numbers I forgot to track who is winning the argument, and who is loosing the argument. That IS the POINT of this whole thing …. ….isn’t it? These people, nations, dynasties and even their civilization was ground to dust by Time TWO THOUSAND AND MORE YEARS AGO! Now … if future excavations uncover and prove a working Flying Saucer or a Stargate to the Pegasus Galaxy, THAT will have my rapt and undivided attention. Currently it’s like “Dark Matter”. Or more like “Doesn’t Matter”… which anyone can look out their living room window, and see is true.

I just learned WHY it is so very important to get all those months, days and years correct from many thousands of years ago .. about men, women and civilizations that time has ground into dust …..

There's the tale of A.K. Dewdney, who wrote about a fictional character named Dr. Matrix, an eccentric mathematician. In one story, Dr. Matrix spends years calculating the optimal way to peel a banana, determining the exact number of slits needed and their precise angles. The idea of focusing on minutiae without practical purpose. But then again, I binge watch TV with six seasons of 27 episodes each, which is worse.

I appreciate and respect high precision calculations …. but every year the Moon is about 1-1/4 inches further away, and will not escape Earth orbit for AT LEAST 100 Billion years. Except for the pesky fact that by then our Sun will have gone Nova, and both the Earth and Moon will have been vaporized as the Sun expands out to about the orbit of Mars. These exercises ARE valuable for understanding orbital mechanics, astronomy, and time …. but if the end result is to show that God’s Kingdom was established ANYTIME before this moment, they are USELESS. You can look out the window, or stand on your front porch and see that did not happen. LOOK AROUND! It just flat DID NOT HAPPEN. No “Great Tribulation” No “Armageddon” No “Paradise Earth” For this reason I am introducing a new aphorism, parable, “law”, (… thinking about Asimov’s Three Laws of Robotics”, etc.), or whatever … “PUDGY’s LAW OF REALITY - A Billion Clever Words Or Precision Calculations Will Not Change What Is Real.” The official acronym will be “PLOR”.

…. when I was a boy, around 1955, I met an old black man named “Hurricane” Jackson, that worked for my father, a general contractor. Jackson was a laborer, carrying wood, bricks, digging trenches, things like that. In the fall of 1957, the Soviet Union launched the first artificial satellite, Sputnik, and as a 9 year old, I was very excited about that. Thermos bottles back then were stainless steel, but made from injected glass with an inner wall and an outer wall, and the air was evacuated between the two walls creating a strong vacuum. Usually about 1/4 inch between walls. Thinking about Sputnik, I asked Jackson, who never finished elementary school, what his favorite invention was and he replied “…the Thermos bottle”. I asked him “why?”, and he looked at me and replied “… well, it keeps hot things hot …. and cold things cold…”, …. and then asked in a whisper of complete earnestness … “…. how does it know?”

I suspect, based on hard supporting evidence, that Jehovah’s mercy is why he has not started the Great Tribulation and Armageddon yet. Just like Jonah, that would make ALL of us “false prophets”, but that’s OK WITH ME. Reality is what it is … and a billion clever words will not change that.

It’s impossible for you to agree with me, BTK59. You are promoting a Disney fantasy of a duck leading a truckload of mice in happy harmony. You can ignore reality with clever word manipulation, painfully transparent and inane … but clever …. but you cannot ignore the consequences of reality. it usually starts with you being wrong about EVERYTHING, as Many Miles pointed out with two Scriptural references to refute your faceted fantasies.

It is sad to see people bending their minds into pretzels of rationalization to try and get around what is demonstrably REAL.

Meanwhile, in the REAL WORLD, all chlorophyl based vegetable life on Earth ate sunlight, and half the animal life on Earth ate the vegetable life, and the second half of all animal life ate the first half. This is how, EVERYWHERE ON EARTH, for at least THREE Billion years, it worked EVERY DAY. EVERY DAY ! Even when at least four times, 95% of all life was extinguished through Mass Extinctions … it came back each time working EXACTLY the same way. There have been five major mass extinctions in Earth's history: the Ordovician-Silurian extinction, the Late Devonian extinction, the Permian-Triassic extinction, the Triassic-Jurassic extinction, and the Cretaceous-Paleogene extinction. EVERY TIME life found a way back. The exact same way back. That’ how the REAL WORLD WORKS! I am mortified that I once believed in the “Disneyland Fantasy” …. but that’s the way agenda driven thinking works. …… sigh …..

if you had a friend that you loved and respected very much, and they loved puppies, didn’t care much for cats, and had a deep aversion to reptiles as pets, but never told you “don’t you bring one of those things into my house“, the general Principles should be enough for you to know how to react and deal with such a person. What I see is a common theme that runs through the entire Bible, that Jehovah wants us to respect the symbolic value of blood and that even extends to the use of blood, by extension. I remember in the book “Shogun” about a Japanese warlord that used to meditate at the bottom of a cliff on rocks watching the oceans crash on the rocks. His bodyguards would wait at the top of the cliff so as not to disturb his meditation. One day he apparently lost track of the fact that the tide was coming in, and he was in danger of being overwhelmed by the ocean and drowning. Rather than yell down to him, which would be considered a sign of extreme disrespect, one of his bodyguards jumped off the cliff to his death, landing on the rock beside the warlord, which the warlord of course noticed, and scrambled to get up the cliff This might seem extreme to us, but that attitude is quite normal for 14th and 15th century Japan. It made perfect sense to them. Although Jehovah cannot be insulted, I am inclined to err on the side of caution as regards the issue of blood, because after all, we’re all going to die anyway, and there’s no exceptions. As big ugly bags of mostly water, and having brains made mostly of fat, we have enough problems trying to live our lives without possibly insulting our best friend.
