How will my personal experiences demonstrate the stark contrast between my life and those of others? I can assure you that this is indeed the reality. There is no need for me to display my personal experiences. Would someone like "Pudgy" make light of my suffering? I strongly suspect he would, which is why I refuse to provide him with a target. What is your interest in this matter?

Are you the one who builds them up, just so that he can tear them down? Is that the way things are done around here?

I have never “made fun” of anybody’s disabilities … except of course my own if it makes for a good joke.

I may make fun of a one-legged tap dancer in general, unaware that someone here is one however.

I do consider it open season on arrogant bullies, manipulators, and the deliberately stupid.

I do have a macabre. sense of humor.

  2. The difference is that God did not declare that organs were precious to him and provide rules for their use.

There is not even a stated objection to straight cannibalism ! None whatsoever!

Jehovah DID declare that blood was precious to him, and in addition to SPECIFIC rules, the respect for honoring his jealous possessiveness of blood is a common CONSISTENT theme that runs throughout the Old and New Testament.

    THAT is the difference!

  3. Can you imagine Jesus or the Apostles carrying a suitcase or a trunk of stuff?

The downfall slide to rationalization  begins when real estate and money become important considerations.

In the History of Civilization there have NEVER been any exceptions.

  4. I have the complete DVD set of “Have Gun, Will Travel”. Excellent series about a gun for hire who preferred to settle disputes without violence.

Also interesting to watch Richard Boone’s skills as Paladin develop as the TV series developed from the old radio shows on CBS circa 1959, with pretty much the exact same scripts.

A great documentary is “The Making of Chicken Run, Dawn of the Nugget” on Netflix.

  5. let’s assume for a moment that Jehovah God said cannibalism was forbidden. (he did not ever do such a thing so this is only theoretical).

Later the church fathers in Jerusalem gave the extended instructions “… abstain from cannibalism.”

And one day you go over to someone’s house for dinner and they have a big plate of pickled peoples’ feet, some horseradish, tomatoes and other fixins’.

…. could you say that you are abstaining from blood…… er… cannibalism because you are only eating a “fractional person”?  A big  plate of ears, or sliced liver is not “whole human” … it has been separated into component parts!

…. perhaps your conscience will allow you to eat a rump roast, but not an arm, or a barbecued torso with nipples.

If it EVER was whole human … the component parts never stop being human.

The same thing with blood. If it EVER was whole blood, the component parts never stop being blood.

Another thing …. one may decide to show respect for blood obeying their NATURAL CONSCIENCE … Irregardless of Mosaic or Noahachian Laws.

To me, the word Noahahide reminds me of a material used to cover sofas.

Yes, I see your point, and I agree. It could, from our point of view, have been made clearer. Could it be because they are two different contexts?

    Like when Paul says:

(Romans 3:28) 28 For we consider that a man is declared righteous by faith apart from works of law. . .

And James mentions something apparently contradictory:

(James 2:24) . . .You see that a man is to be declared righteous by works and not by faith alone.

As is, I read two different kinds of faith being considered.

The first is about the philosophical concept of faith, the idea of faith, and

The second is about how to make that idea and concept transition from a capability to a real thing.….

BECAUSE … If that “leap” is not made … faith without works is dead.

Two entirely different ideas, would be my guess.

Jehovah can DECLARE a man rightous who has faith that never heard of the Law of Moses.  The Scripture is talking about how FAITH transitions from concept to reality.

I may see it differently tomorrow if I get more sleep.

  7. I have never claimed to be a “good” JW, as I am a Barbarian at heart, and that is why the example of David pouring the water on the ground resonates so deeply with me …. I understand that that on a gut level … and the reasoning behind it.

I can see how Jehovah holds that all blood belongs to him and is jealous for it.

It feels perfectly right and proper and like Thinking, I don’t see any loopholes.

The perspective of a righteous (sometimes) man who fought in hand to hand combat carries more weight with me.

Even a non-JW Barbarian can understand the underlying principle that blood is sacred.
