Living on a forum where opposers exist is like having a house next to the train-tracks. You could move, but then you'd miss the doppler effect of the train as it comes and goes. Also it's sometimes fun to put pennies on the tracks.

We learnt this week to walk away when people are abusive.  If this is not abuse then I do not know what you think it is.  You must be a nightmare in your congregation. ....bye ..... if you think you are going to get any converts here ..... forget about it.  No remorse in your demeanor either.  Head knowledge and NO compassion or love. You justify your hateful attitude by Jesus cleaning the temple...... 99.9 percent of the time Jesus was compassionate and kind as well as patient.... think about that!

Your superiority makes you a disingenuous witness, or at best, a bad teacher. The bible says if we do not have love then we are NOTHING. 1cor 13 first verse.  You break your spiritual family members down by telling them they are not good enough.  Have you not attended the last few watchtower studies ?  Did you do any introspection? Have you not read the psalms? ... or is it only head knowledge that matters to you and no wholehearted wise application of what you learn?
Tom was only repeating the man's own words back at him .... Jah2me has said these very same expressions hundreds of times on this forum, namely that he is waiting for the true anointed because he does not recognize JWs.... Tom was playing with the mans own words and his head..... .
Maybe it was a case of your answering before thinking about what he was trying to do. Remember the scripture which says there is NO man is without sin.  Some may think that all others are equal in sin  but they are not...... their hastiness to break down and judge is not sin.  Jehovah turns his eyes away from the haughty..... We all need forgiveness from God to be approved every day of our life.  If we are just criticizing and not building up we may ourselves miss out on this forgiveness.  The very reason I identify jah4me as a hate-OCD person is because that is all he does - break down and criticize.
Sometimes we need to correct BUT not harshly.

No, no, no. You’ve got it all wrong. The Witness I was referring to was the wannabe ‘house’ anointed on this very forum, not any of Jehovah’s Witnesses that we all know and love. I admit, she could have chosen a different name to avoid the confusion.
YOU are telling ME about insults???!!!!!!!!!

There's a brother I used to do a lot of early morning work with. Let's call him Troy. Troy was quite outspoken, he was also pretty extreme. He was dropping acid and sky diving with a bunch of guys when one of them started to study. That guy eventually dropped, but Troy picked it up and ran with it. Anyway, that's his personality. So I'm taking him on this RV and the guy I'm calling on is a super-catholic and apparently wasn't too happy w/it's take on the church. So Troy butts in and starts trashing the catholic church really hard. The other guy mentioned some priest's name and Troy said "he's probably got some altar boy bent over backwards while we're talking!"
So we got kicked out. Unsurprisingly.
Then Troy looks at me, grins and says "Got any more calls you want to get rid of?"
So we both started saying "Who ya gonna call!" "Call Busters!"
Of course that's not an experience that's likely to be shared on an assembly, but anyway C reminds me of that (except he doesn't appear to have a sense of humor about himself which is always a big fat mistake)

I remember back in the Old Testament how Jehovah tolerated a GREAT DEAL of error with his people .... until it reached a certain unrecoverable breaking point. Jehovah is our God, not because he needs to be worshiped, but that by doing so we all get on the same channel, and his favorite project (that we know about) prospers and does well.
If we had pet hamsters or gerbils, we would not cut off their heads because they constantly poop and pee in their enclosures.

I remember that the Israelites also didn't make a straight line out of Egypt or through the wilderness either.
Quite frankly sometimes I feel like I'm supposed to nod my head like I understand when some explanations sound like this to me:

JWI - "I have many things yet to tell you, but you can't bear them at present."
Certainly there was an operation of error w/regard to allowing the people in the 1st century to imagine many things. Take the apostle John. Many thought he would never die. Sure things changed, but there was no divine intervention to quell that thinking. Many no doubt sped up their evangelizing as a result of imagining the whole thing would be wrapped up in their own lifetime.

Bible not condemns birthdays as it is clearly visible by few records in Bible text. Also, what is "birthday"? Start of new period of life, for kid and for family. And people wish/want to be reminded of that happy day. What is wrong with that?
Celebrating a wedding day is allowed in JW religion, but celebrating a child’s birthday is not allowed. A complete absurdity!

There are at least nine types of people in the world.
Those who can't connect the dots.
Those who can but won't connect the dots.
Those who connect the dots, but connect the wrong dots.
Those who can't even see the dots to bother with the question of connecting them.
Those who can and do connect the dots.
Those who imagine there are dots to connect and connect these.
Those who imagine there are dots, but perversely refuse to connect the dots in their imagination.
Those who imagine there are dots, but connect the wrong ones in their imagination.

...and if you could think "Let me do it Hemingway-style while I do it. Better yet, in the form of a short equation, like E = MC**2."
Remember Paul said "if the trumpet sounds an indistinct call, who will get ready...?"
Also you have to steel-man your opponent. If you can't do that, you're less convincing as you appear to not understand the opposition.

It's all about being politically correct. Some nations are more sensitive to justified criticism than others. In some European countries it's ok to tell your best friend she's fat and needs to lose weight.. in other countries that would be called fat shaming and is a no no. The other thing is than some people think that "false humility" is ok. It's nice to be honest, but many people can't take it. Today's society has become a bunch of snowflakes as JTR  (a former  member of the forum)  used to call them. And he was right.

Once again this becomes a comedy forum. Is someone actually paying for this web space. I've no idea how forums are 'paid for'. Maybe by the advertisements ?
It is a shame how xero has to keep showing his inner self to the world, and it is a shame how CC = Billy the kid has to keep spewing acid.  I thank you Tom for making it all so amusing... I'm only on here this morning as it's raining outside and i need to think of things to do.  Have a nice day everyone.  Oh, I note there is a new topic about a 'new book' = new light

I think they should have the right to do this...
And they should (and hopefully will) give the money back to the innocent guys.
I hope to see a follow up news item about how this all worked out someday with the bad guys losing and the innocent being made whole again.

Yes, true indeed. On the other hand one has to use the head to be able to distinguish the truth from non truth. Evangelicals are led by the heart, but they are obviously misguided.

I've been told that. It's a baked-in personality trait. I have high-low self esteem. My biggest fear is that people will be too stupid to realize how brilliant I am.
This reminds me of an elders meeting where one brother said to me "Other people have ideas too!" and my response was "Well if we could knock it off with the fake humility and speak as men, maybe we could get these meetings done more quickly. Just spit it out already."
    Edited to mention
I remember one brother (was it me?) who said in a meeting in response to the phrase "speaking as men" ..."Oh, you mean like now when we're being rude and tactless?"

I know where you’re coming from, but I agree with Anna. I think it is not good to describe the brotherhood this way. I think it because the scriptures lay no emphasis at all on this “deficiency,” if it is one. Instead, they goes out of their way to show favor to such ones. They pay no attention to the head. They only pay attention to the heart.
“Wisdom cries aloud from the street,” the Bible says. “Hogwash,” comes the answer from the learned ones. “It cries aloud from the quadrangles. Only ignoramuses are to be found in the street.”
It is their bad, for it cries aloud from the street.
I like the counsel to Philippians to keep regarding the other as superior. If it seems to me that I truly am superior towards another with regard to smarts, I look for another way in which he truly is superior to me. I usually don’t have to look too hard.
