Well…. WHATEVER Nebuchadnezzar’s toes mean  … it is Not worth $675.

A decade and a half ago, when my children were teenagers, I had to work so I sent them to an assembly somewhere, a three day assembly that cost me $675 before it was all over.
When they finally got home late Sunday night, still in their suits, I asked them what did they learn? The reply was “oh…… Oh…… Oh yeah, we learned that …. you know …. what we used to think we knew about Nebuchadnezzar‘s Statue’s toes… Well it’s an entirely different explanation now, and it’s …. And at that point my eyes glazed over and I had a vision of US currency flapping like a bird, with six $100 bills and more into the night sky.
I am afraid I busted out laughing and almost fell off of my chair, and it’s only a vision of almost $700 evaporating that kept me I’m having a bad case of giggle fits.
Looking back on it, I realize I had an entirely inappropriate response for anyone who would like to be on good terms with his family.
The point I’m making by bringing his up is that all of the previous discussions, to me, are spending a great deal of time and effort to figure out things that are intrinsically unknowable. And even if we did know, if there’s absolutely nothing we can do about it it seems a cost benefit ratio analysis would be in order to determine is it really worth the effort?
I personally don’t care if the Nebuchadnezzar statue ever even had toes.
It may be incredibly important…… But for the life of me I cannot see how.

Before you go to bed at night, take some ground up coffee, regular or instant, and sprinkle it on the kitchen floor. Then turn off the lights, and go to bed. In the middle of the night get up very quietly sneak into the kitchen where the cockroaches will be eating the coffee, loaded with caffeine.

Very quietly, reach around the corner and flick the light switch on and off as fast as you can.
It will surprise the cockroaches, and the strobe affect will disorient them and they will run around like crazy looking for a place to hide, but usually they will have a heart attack from the stress and roll over onto their backs, and die. 
You will see them on the floor, lying on their backs, dead, with their six little arms and hands holding their heart.
….. if you look closely, you will see that they have a little “X”s over their eyes, and their Probosci will be hanging out the sides of their mouths.

Think of how simple and uncomplicated each of our lives would be …. And CAN be …. If we make the decision to not be more than casually aware of things over which we have ABSOLUTELY no control or influence !  

EXAMPLE: Tomorrow evening at 3:21PM there will be a massive total spasm launch of missiles resulting in Global Thermonuclear War, an all life on Earth (except cockroaches) will be killed.

I absolutely do not think that the Governing Body or Elders are in anyway “taking a stand against God“ when they go beyond what is written.
I think it’s done out of ignorance because of the intense pressure of  basic organizational survival, and misplaced agenda driven loyalty, because they realize the importance of being loyal to God, but it’s not really clear in their/our minds how to do it.
All people have different levels of confidence and competence in their abilities.
…. but, as is so often the case it’s not what they know that’s important, it’s what they think they know, and are absolutely sure that they know, which is wrong.
My three children, to the best of my knowledge are absolutely 100% committed to the organization and its teachings.
The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly.
One is an Elder in Texas. All three are model Citizens. 
They are doing much better than I in almost every measurable way.
This is multiplied by a factor of about 2.5 million globally in improving peoples’ lives.
That is why in my not so humble opinion, the Watchtower Bible and Tracy Society is humanitie’s best bet for being good citizens, blameless in every respect, and to become friends of God.
Yes, policies and procedures and some theology is in serious, serious need of reform, but Jehovah knows who is His, from within or without, and JWs are civilization’s best bet for survival and prosperity.
Yes, I am disfellowshipped, but facts are facts …. and the fact is that this time is no different than when the Jews fell away from  serving Jehovah in a very big way, and He still claimed them until it was HIS TIME FOR A CHANGE.
Collateral damage is an unavoidable fact of warfare, and any religious group over 200 people with real estate.

I like that Jehovah's love for people is like that. He doesn't only love or only save Jehovah's Witnesses. Just like He didn't love only the Jews. Jehovah brought the nations into a relationship with Him. It's going to be the same again. It's not just Jehovah's Witnesses that He's going to save during the tribulation. The ransom is enough for them - those who are not yet Jehovah's Witnesses. We don't have to be the judge, thank God, that's not our job. We just have to love.
 
Those of the nations who became Christians were drawn by the love, not by the requests for Bible studies.

Well, I'll be relieved if you don't get your "scattered cone" death-wish. I hope the only "scattered cone" you ever get is maybe a Moose Tracks Ice Cream Cone or perhaps a hot brass spinning water sprinkler spraying a scattered cone of rainbow reflecting water prisms into a fine smoke-like mist about you as you and your wife enjoy another sunset watching the birds fly home. There aren't enough people around with common sense in the world as it is. 
 
 
(I'll grin when you someday end up with a "Moses"-like assignment...he would've jumped out of airplanes when he was younger too but later just wanted to stay out to pasture with the sheep. Jehovah is the Author of the Bible, and "we must obey God as ruler rather than men" when those men teach things that are in opposition to God's Word.
 
The WTBTS corporation currently embraces many teachings that are not in harmony with God's Word. Thus, we are wise to listen to the specific direction from the organization when they teach what is in harmony with God's Word and reject the specific direction from the organization when it is not in harmony with God's Word.

You only get zapped when you cross the line, and then you just "reincarnate" yourself with a new name/personality. So I don't know what you're complaining about.
 
 
I am a fan of free speech, but I am not a fan of hateful speech, so while I would prefer people didn't get removed in general, I am glad when they are removed for using raunchy-icky language that better suits a house of ill-repute than a forum set aside for discussing religious topics.
 
I do not use raunchy-icky language like you do, @boyle/@MoiseRacette/@esa... Perhaps if you spoke in a slightly more genteel manner and less like a drunken sailor you wouldn't get deleted so often, but that is your prerogative. I think you must enjoy making up new profiles and personalities, and you must be kind of lonely - I feel bad for you and I don't mind talking to you as long as you behave.
 
You know very well that @Witness is a different person than me. @Witness is a follower of Pearl Doxsey, and I am not. I didn't know @Witness until I first spoke with her on here a few months ago. She private messaged me to let me know the administrator froze her abilities to comment, but that didn't have anything to do with me. I like talking with @Witness, even though I don't agree with what she believes on many things, I am proud of her for being willing to keep her integrity to what she believes.
 
 
@Pudgy is not a bully; he is very tolerant of you, as I am tolerant of you as well. The description of the Jehovah's Witnesses Club is "News and discussion regarding JW.org, Watchtower, IBSA including current events and historical items of interest." Most of what I share is Bible verses. If you consider sharing Bible verses to be "bullying" and "insulting" then I don't know how you can get through reading any of the Bible at all without feeling overly self-condemned, and I feel sorry for you.
