I have often given thought as the MOST PROBABLE way to calculate time ... and it is ONLY my BEST EDUCATED GUESS, at the present time ...  is first realize that the PERSPECTIVE of the narrator in Genesis is of one standing on the surface of the Earth watching it's formation.
It is NOT a "view from Space".
Then ... we know from MOUNTAINS of very hard evidence (  no pun intended) that the Earth went from formless and void about Three and one-half BILLION years ago to a ball of molten rock from collisions with impacting and accretion materials, became an oblate spheroid (generally a ball...) and it took that long to become the Lovely Blue-Green-Tan Planet we have today., with the Moon in EXACTLY the right place, for the first time in the history of the Solar System, so that Earth observers can use it as a tool to wrestle the secrets from the Universe, as Einstein waited 18 or so years for a Solar Eclipse to verify his theory of relativity as being TRUE.
So ... if you take 3-1/2 billion years divided by six creative days, (and a day of rest ...), that is 3, 500,000,000 years divided by 7, which gives you each of the seven "days"  is about a half-billion years long.  
Time to have the entire Earth go through many changes, from a ball of super-heated steam covered incandescent rock in total darkness, to a lush jungle and ecosphere with hundreds of millions of frolicking dinosaurs and other critters swarming over the Earth.
My current BEST GUESS ... based on VERY hard evidence ... is that we are living in God's rest day now .... but where we are in that half-billion year long rest day would be wild guessing without any hard evidence.  (That means delusional fantasy, for those in Rio Linda...)
The entire Universe SCREAMS! ...  screams .... SCREAMS! ... of the existing time scale of all things .... stars, planetary formation, geological epocs,  climate variations , life .. extinctions ... life ... extinctions, etc., and of vast and widespread civilizations of proto-men, precursors to "Homo Erectus" , eventually leading to the direct creation of "Homo Theocraticus" ... the first sanctioned  humans ...by God.
             By the way ... this "theory" SOLVES the problem of  evolution's  billions of tons of hard evidence across all sciences being irrefutably true, and the Bible account of the first "Humans" being the direct creation of Jehovah God.          
IT FITS ALL KNOWN FACTS FROM BOTH SIDES .... WITHOUT ANY COMPROMISES OR OBFUSCATIONS OR COGNITIVE DISSONANCE.
If it takes more than one paragraph to explain ANY concept ... it probably is NOT true.
I am 70, now, and these things are for younger and smarter people to work out the details.

To me, it is very simple .... what definition of a "Generation" did Jesus have in mind, that when he told HIS DISCIPLES ( NOT US ! ), 2,000 or so years ago .... and using the words Jesus DID USE .... what understanding did the Apostles, and disciples have.
Only those bat crap crazy, and loony as a tune could visualize Jesus holding up a chart like Bro David Splain of the Governing Body needed to try and explain it as an "overlapping generation".
The people ... EVERYONE not retarded or insane back in Jesus' day knew what a generation was ... it was the same definition used by the whole world.

….. And considering the question of neutrality and how God is it relates to the affairs of men more and more I’m wondering of Joseph‘s relationship to the Egyptian government of his time. He was the third ruler of the land, Under the son of Pharaoh, and my guess is he was roughly the equivalent of here in the United States the Secretary of Defense.
Since he was obviously a Hebrew, did he give his allegiance to the government of Egypt which in those days was the Pharaoh in the house of Ra?. It is my understanding that the term pharaoh actually means “the house of Ra“.

Joseph controlled the food supply for the nation of Egypt for at least 14 years in a time when everybody had a tendency to steal food for at least seven of those years.
I can easily visualize Joseph having to order armed soldiers to protect those granaries during the times of starvation especially.
Considering the responsibilities of his job as Secretary of Defense and Agriculture, do you think it bothered him to control the forces that protected the assets of the Egyptian government, and Egyptian people? To chastise them unto death?
I can easily visualize bandits in raiding parties attacking the granaries, and him having to kill them to make them stop. Perhaps not personally, but ordering the forces that were necessary to have it done.
I can also easily visualize Joseph maintaining his integrity to God and maintaining his allegiance to God, while serving the house of Ra in the exact same way as if his allegiance was to Egypt, and perhaps at some point in time he did have to give that also to the Pharaoh, even if only a secondary allegiance in order to protect Egypt’s food supply, which naturally extends to protecting Egypt’s borders from invasion by outside nations that we’re devastated by starving populations during the day 7 “lean years.”.
I am in my bed now writing this on my iPhone, having just awakened from a very vivid lucid dream in full color, (I generally do not dream in color, all my life I have dreamed in black and white), And the dream was about this issue.
I think it was inspired today when I learned about the 13 soldiers that died on Snake Island in the Ukraine when ordered to surrender by a Russian warship on the Black Sea, and they replied “go F—- yourself”, Which was the ultimate defiance and for which they paid the ultimate price.
I was so proud of them at that moment that I cried like a baby and feel much like many Texans do when they hear the story of the Alamo.
I guess this means that I am not neutral, anymore.

Mariupol (the city near the border with Russia), 2022. Like a lot of people, I saw repeated reports about 79-year-old great-grandmother, Valentyna Konstantynovska, learning how to shoot the enemy in the event of a Russian invasion, organized by Ukraine’s National Guard.
However, it has been pointed out (by Fox, Vice, etc.) that this “National Guard” is officially wearing a Nazi symbol on their uniform.  And members display other Nazi and Neo-Nazi symbols on their person:
The Neo-Nazi symbol used by the Azov Regiment who staged the “media event” as picked up by NBC The yellow swastika-like symbol of the Azov Regiment showed up in the news reports (NBC, MSNBC, etc.). Members of the battalion show themselves to be proud of their Nazi heritage. Some wear additional SS symbols and swastika tattoos. Ukraine is usually presented as “an embattled pro-Western seeker of liberal democracy.” So how did it also become “a haven for fascists and Nazis.”

Therefore, without getting into the reasons they were in Hong Kong for protests in 2019, it might be significant to note that the CIA has historically found that supporting groups with right-wing, nationalist ideologies is usually more effective in producing the necessary levels of “violence” to bring about coups, regime changes and civil wars. The same CIA-sponsored organizations that were caught training Hong Kong protesters had also openly trained Ukrainian protesters.
Of course, Cathy Young, quoted above, and others have tried to minimize the relevance and significance of right-wing ultra-nationalists and Nazis in Ukraine. After all, the president of Ukraine is himself Jewish. Some of the right wing parties in Ukraine have lost relevance since the “coup” in 2014. And many Ukrainians themselves condemned the anti-Semitic, white supremacist speeches during the 2013 and 2014 protests. Some go so far as to say that these ideas about “Nazification” in Ukraine is just “Putin propaganda.”
Still, there is a very real and relevant significance to this idea that Ukraine is often considered a haven for Fascists and Nazis. To help understand how and why, I’ll consider a quick review of major political events related to Ukraine in the next section. I’ll focus on events since 2014, but the roots go back at least to the 1930’s.

It was basically a USA and Western-sponsored coup (regime change) to put Zelensky at the helm. But the previous president was able to get a vote of support for joining NATO just before fleeing office. Not that it was ready to happen because the rest of NATO realized the embarrassment of having such a "nazified" right-wing country in NATO. NATO has to be careful because its charter basically is obsolete and could easily be dismantled on legal grounds if it isn't careful about its actions. After all, it was created to counter the spread of communism, with the agreement for member nations to combine forces to protect "Western" Europe from communism. But if it is too obvious that it is defending Nazis, more nations will get behind the push for dismantle it.
True. I mention this in the article I put on Medium. Serious commentators will not usually say that Zelensky is complicit with the far right nationalist parties, which can be openly anti-Semitic, right up to top levels in his cabinet, and several members of Parliament. And he is not the only Jewish person in the Ukrainian government. But many Jewish leaders, although not anti-Semitic, have been white supremacists and have tacitly gone along with Nazi ideology and tactics. The laws passed under his leadership and several other factors are worthy of further discussion.
True. But it's a far bigger problem than just the Azov Battalion. I mention in the article that some have tried to deflect from it by associating it with Putin propaganda, but it's a much more widely recognized problem. In fact I'll go ahead and just post the part about the Azov Battalion from that article, next.
Before I do that I just wanted to agree with you and @Arauna about the resource and economic angle. And so right about the SWIFT repercussions.

A new thread on Ukraine was not needed at all. But I wanted to discuss this point of Ukraine "Nazification" in more detail. I think it's much more important to an understanding of what is going on in Ukraine than many people will give it credit.
I thought about avoiding this site [TWNM.org] for political commentary, even though I always find it best to try to write up my musings about any topic, political or otherwise. It's not to convince anyone else, but for some of the following reasons:
in order to more easily see if what I understand makes logical sense when I re-read it. to see whether any challenges to my current understanding make better sense. as a kind of reference for myself about what I may have thought about something in the past, especially useful if at some point in the future I come to think of my past views as stupid To that end I decided to try writing up some of my opinions and ideas about politics on medium.com. I made up an email address for it, and call myself by the name "Geo Politicks" @unpolitick. I don't have a Twitter account or Facebook account, but I might start putting up a few more comments on medium.com. This way, maybe, I can keep comments about politics much shorter over here, where I would prefer to focus more attention on how various political situations effect our brothers and sisters.
Those who don't care to read my longer ramblings (or who might even find them offensive) will be much less likely to visit a link to a blog at medium.com.
At any rate, I just started it on 2/22/2022, and I posted only one article so far. I wrote up two more quick articles yesterday, too, but didn't post them yet.
There is one other point to address, and that is the idea of neutrality. It will definitely be offensive to some here that any discussion of political issues is the same as breaking neutrality. However, I don't think that anyone would argue that it is wrong for a Christian to be against Nazism, and more in favor of stability. Most Christians have good reason to prefer capitalism and/or democracy over communism and socialism, especially when socialist and communist countries prove to be a hindrance to true Christian practice. And there are some nuances to neutrality that are a bit more subtle. For example, if one is quick to accept a report as true even though it was actually intended as propaganda for one side or another of a conflict, then that person has taken sides, usually without even realizing it. Being more informed of the truth or falsehood of a story intended as propaganda can actually make one more neutral, and less likely to be fooled into taking sides.

It means that people who are not even religious can ostracized someone and or something from a home, household, family, group, community, institution, etc. Example, Billy caused several school fights even after suspension and pranked several teachers, put a glue on the Principal's chair, thus ruining his suit, therefore, Billy is Expelled permanently from school and his record is effected. The school is no longer in contact with Billy due to Billy's actions, Billy cannot graduate from said school, and due to the chances he was given, no option for an appeal, hence he is essentially ostracized, even shunned by the institution, should be attempt to come back, the school can call the police on Billy.
Mind you this is a minor example of a form what is stated in the latter.
Although JWs and most Christian practice Excommunication, a level of this is in practice outside of all Abrahamic Faiths. This was already mentioned.

That being said there is indeed a level of ostracization and shunning in practice, even in various communities.

This proves you do not know what JW teach and what they base it on.  The bible itself says at psalm 90 how long a generation is - it is NOT a hypothesis!

I have not read it in the bible but that is a good point to consider.  People do not realize how quickly the world turned wicked before the flood. And the period right before God decided t bring the flood saw a greater escalation because of the wicked angels interfering in earth's affairs. It was pretty bad.  That is why it is logical that the world we are living in now will become as bad with wicked angels behind everything.  Very violent, terrible sexual practices with an open hate for God.  

About ten years ago, my son bought a very old and humble little house that was built with lumber milled from the massive sugar pines of the area. The lumber was gleaned from an abandoned mining town located up the mountain pass, whose heyday lasted for a few short years in the 1860’s. Since the early 1930’s this house had many changes over the years, modestly growing in size as the original family grew. Still, the family’s five children shared one small bedroom.  The outhouse was exchanged for indoor plumbing amenities in the 1960’s. Ten years ago, the house received a few new walls, new flooring and new paint.  But today, instead of having it leveled to the ground, which many people would favor, it is again being restored on a greater level.  The internal flimsy walls are coming down, the low ceiling will be renewed and lofted. Repairs are planned that will stabilize the entire structure.  With new windows, new doors, and efficient heat, little will be left to remind one of the original house.  It is a restoration in progress, one that takes patience, endurance, and hard work for a young man to take on.   
Upon leaving the organization, many of us begin an internal restoration work on our spiritual “house” of faith.  We tear down the decrepit whitewashed “walls” of false doctrines, letting the light of Christ’s truth shine in the window of our soul.  (Isa 42:7; Ps 97:11; Eph 5:14; Matt 7:7; James 1:5)
 Under God’s grace, we are then able to discern or “see” clearly; not only the dark spiritual state we left behind, but we acknowledge the work laid out in front of us, shoring up the foundation of our faith in the truth and wisdom of the Father and Jesus Christ. (Luke 9:62; 5:36-38; Matt 7:24-27)  Certainly, it takes patience and endurance to remain on the lighted path Christ has set before us. (John 1:9; 3:21; 8:12; Matt 10:38; 2 Cor 6:4; Heb 12:2) 
The term, “restoration” was mentioned by Governing Body member Samuel Herd, regarding pure worship, during the annual meeting of the organization.  He said -
 “At what time are we living?  We’re blessed to be living in a special time period, and this began as far back as 1914.  It’s more than just the last days of this old system of things.  Well, why is that?  Notice what the Bible says – Acts 3:21, it’s also called the times of the restoration of all things.  Now let the word, “restoration” linger in your mind.  Why does that matter?  We’re living in a time of restoration of all things because pure worship has been restored! We’re bathing in it, and the worship of Jehovah will never be corrupted, ever again.”
Is this true? Can it be said, that JWs are “bathing” in pure worship when their doctrines have been proven to be impure with the passing of time? (Acts 20:28-30; 2 Tim 4:3,4) These past “truths” have become the refuse of false teachers, which they would rather hide from the eyes of JWs. (Matt 7:15-20;15:7-9; Luke 6:45; 1 John 1:6)
An earthly organization requires rules and regulations that its members must follow.  They must adhere to its mission statement, by serving its needs and goals. (Col 2:8; 2 Cor 11:19,20; Rev 13:10)  To succeed as an organization, the governing leaders have contrived a form of impure worship, by attaching their own decrees to God’s word, and exalting the organization/idol as leading one to salvation. (Ps 64:1-6; Hab 1:16,17; 2 Cor 11:4; Rev 13:11,12,14) 
Moses expressed the covenant God made with Israel, when establishing them as His people.  In Deut. 29, he reminded them of their time in Egypt –
“You saw their abhorrent images and idols made of wood, stone, silver, and gold, which were among them. 18 Be sure there is no man, woman, clan, or tribe among you today whose heart turns away from the Lord our God to go and worship the gods of those nations. Be sure there is no root among you bearing poisonous and bitter fruit.  19 When someone hears the words of this oath, he may consider himself exempt, thinking, ‘I will have peace even though I follow my own stubborn heart.’ This will lead to the destruction of the well-watered land as well as the dry land.”
Heb 12:15 - “Make sure that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no root of bitterness springs up, causing trouble and defiling many.” 
Jesus said we will recognize false teachers by the “fruit” they produce.  Revelation shows us that in the last days, God’s people, His “land” (Isa 66:1,2; John 14:23; 1 Cor 3:9; Gal 4:6; 1 Cor 3:16; Rom 8:9; Luke 8:11,15)…
…are drinking in poisoned waters sourced in a root of bitterness.  They are “eating” “fruit” that rots; known at one time as “present truth”. They are engaging in idolatrous practices – “eating food sacrificed to idols”.   (1 Cor 10:19-22; Rev 2:20; 16:14-16)
Rev 8:10,11 – “The third angel sounded, and a great star fell from heaven, burning like a torch, and it fell on a third of the rivers and on the springs of waters. 11 The star is named Wormwood; and a third of the waters became wormwood, and many people died from the waters because they were made bitter.”
The fallen anointed “great star”/”Beast from the Earth”, once under covenant with God, now walks in the stubbornness of his heart. (Ps 78:5-8,36,37; Jer 11:10; Dan 11:30-32; Rev 13:11,12)  
“Wormwood” signified the composite leadership/”heads” of the organization today. (Rev 12:3; 17:9;13:1,11,12)  It is blatantly obvious by the history of the “fruit” they have produced. (John 15:16) They have deceived the “elect”, in the only earthly organization that houses the chosen priests of God. (1 Pet 2:5,9)
As we can see by the warning in Deut. 29 above, this presence of Wormwood points to the defilement of worship, through idolatry.  (Jer 23:15; Amos 5:7; Matt 24:4,5,24,25; 2 Cor 11:3,4,13; Rev 13:11,12,4,15)
The governing leader is correct; in that it is the time of restoration of pure worship, but it will never, ever occur in a corrupt human organization, that has allowed the spiritual house of God built with the anointed “living stones” (1 Pet 2:5), to be trampled down by “Gentiles”.  “Jerusalem’s”, “walls” have been breached – truth has been thrown to the ground.  (Jer 12:10; 51:51; Lam 1:17,18;2:7,8; Zeph 3:4; Dan 8:12,13;25; 9:17; Mark 13:14; 1 Cor 3:16,17; 2 Thess 2:3,4; Rev 11:1,2;13:7)
These spiritual harlots have used their army of counterfeit priests to promote, support and give worship to ”Jehovah’s spirit-directed organization”. (Rom 1:25; Rev 13:4) This is what God’s anointed and all JWs, are “bathing” in – flooding waters of idolatrous teachings and the doctrine of men, which has completely crushed the relationship that God’s holy priesthood are to maintain with the Father and the Son. (1 Cor 6:15,16,18-20; 2 Cor 6:14-18; Dan 9:26; Luke 17:26,27; Rev 12:15,16; 16:13,14)
Because of this plight on God’s anointed, a remnant seeks to understand what “pure worship" requires. They desire to give acceptable offerings to Him, through sacrifices of praise as He has intended for His priesthood to carry out. (Jer.30:3; Isa.14:2; Hosea6:11; Zeph.3:20) ( Jer 3:22; 1 Pet 2:9; Heb 13:15; Rev 7:10,12)
Depending on the translation, “restoration” is used in 2 Chron 24:13,27(NIV), mentioning the “repairing” of the temple and restoring its walls after the siege of Babylon. In God’s spiritual Temple today, each anointed is a “living stone” dwelling of His Spirit. (1 Cor 3:16,17)
Isa 58:8 speaks of a promise of spiritual healing, of a “restoring to soundness” to God’s Israel, who were burdened down by sin resulting in the rejection of His laws.  This spiritual healing restores the relationship between the Father and His “sons”. ( Jer 8:22; 51:51; 30:17,18; Ps 119:18)
In 2 Cor 13:11(NIV) it alludes to the individual, ‘mending what has been broken’, to reach perfection of faith through instruction and training in God’s word.  This leads to repentance, discipline and refinement.  (Zeph 3:4; Ezek 44:23; Mal 2:7) (1 John 2:3-5;3:7,8,23,24; 5:3; 2 John 1:6; Col 3:9; Heb 12:5,6,11; Rev 3:18)

The necessary restoration of pure worship is based on the sound teachings of Jesus Christ - Truth. (2 Tim 1:13; 4:3,5) Have the organization’s leaders repented for their numerous failed predictions and promises?  It would be evident by their “fruit”, showing that they have converted fully to Jesus Christ for guidance. They would reject the need for the organization and would gather with the anointed body under Jesus Christ, instead of preventing their bonding, as they express in their literature. (Lam 4:1,16,12,13; Dan 9:7; Luke 19:44; 21:24; Eph 4:4;1 Cor 12:27,25,26)  
However, they continue to exalt the idol and rely on concocted delusions of their own minds. (Isa 65:2;Jer 3:23; 51:17,18; 23:26) 
After the destruction of Jerusalem by Babylon, Nehemiah had heard from survivors, “The wall of Jerusalem is broken down, and its gates have been burned in the fire.” (Neh 1:3)  He mourned for days at this news, recognizing that the result of the grievous sins of his people, led to their capture. These walls were a protection from the enemy forces, yet without God’s Spirit as their ultimate protection, they were conquered. (Ezek 5:11)
 Nehemiah spoke of the promise God gave under Moses:
9 “But if you return to me and keep my commandments and do them, even though all of your outcasts are at the furthest parts of heaven, I will gather them and bring them to the place which I have chosen to make my name dwell.”  Neh 1:9
The following event related by Jesus Christ in Matt 17:11, has been deliberately ignored by the organization, by falsely saying this took place with John the Baptist.    
Matt 17:10,11 - So the disciples asked him, "Why then do the scribes say that Elijah must come first? " 11 "Elijah is coming and will restore everything," he replied. 
I am wondering how the organization justifies their “restoration” without the appearance of the prophet in the manner of “Elijah”. It is by the word of men that they announce “restoration”, and not by the word of God. (2 Pet 1:21) This work of a designated prophet sent by God before the return of Christ, is also outlined in Mal 3:1-4.
 
The work of "Elijah" preaches a restoration of the bond between God's elect,
and their Fathers (Matt.17:11; Luke1:16-17; Isa.61:3-4).
Without the restoration of those bonds...
demonic teachings, cloudy eyes, lying hands, darkness, wormwood waters, sin, and death,
(1Tim.4:1; Rev.16:14-16; 2:20; 13:11,15; Amos 5:18,20)…
…will take away all the "earth"/homeland of God.
This is why Jesus causes these "two witnesses" to prophesy (Rev.11:3),
for the sake of a late crop/remnant…
(Rev.20:5; Amos7:1; Rev.7:9,13-14; Isa.1:9; 37:32; Ezra 9:8; Eze.14:22; Luke13:23-24; Matt.24:22; 19:25-26; Isa.37:32)
